8% Movement Speed Is It Worth It?

If I were personally going to get these legs for BLM I'd get the 8% movement and Physical Damage Taken and use these only for idle.

A) The choice is not CC or Dragon pant with movement speed, the choice is Dragon pants with movement speed or dragon pants with bad nuking stats.
B) The debate is about BRD and BLM, not RDM, not any DD, nothing other than BRD or BLM.
C) The dragon pants with nuking stats are around the same or worse than AH pants (this is an undeniable fact, get over it)

And at Fyyvoaa, I don't need movement speed to be a good BLM, I need it to be able to do things that are not possible without the movement speed.

When did I say you needed to like it? those legs can be used for better than 8% speed either get herme's sandles for monk or c.c's. There is better than 8% speed.

as far as ive heard, bard doesnt really et anything usefull from the legs, and the pants are sub-par for nuking. He's probably better off getting movement speed and something else on them. They could easily make some decent solo(blm)/bard pulling pants.

no one has said you need movement speed to be a good Blm, just that in some situations, it can help. if we RELLY want to get down to it, Plds/Rdms dont NEED CCs, Drks dont need Kclubs, DDs dont need haste gear... i can go on really..

The only other movement speed option is Gaiters (13-20mil).

If you completely ignore math in this game as a mage you're fail. The 10% crit damage bonus, as said earlier makes a magic crit 20MAB instead of 10MAB, so if your nuke doesn't crit, this does nothing for you. The only way to even GET a crit is by using witch sash, wise strap or MKD head? Even with all 3 of these items you're up to 15% crit hit rate, meaning 1.5 out of 10 nukes you'll get a bit of extra damage. If you are using these pants with 10% crit damage on them, that works out at an average of 3% extra damage over time (ignoring any wasted crit nukes that kill a mob when a non-crit would have killed it anyway). However, ignoring bugard+1 > wise strap, and looking solely at MKD head, if you chose INT+4 MAB+2 instead of INT+4 crit hit rate +10%, you would be looking at an average increase of 2% over time.

Not as high as 3%, but this is a constant increase, meaning you can actually depend on that damage rather than hoping for a m.crit. It also means you can put an actual decent pair of pants (morrigan's/mahatma/tatsumaki with MAB/macc) to allow overall better damage and/or performance.

That's just the pure damage side of things though, there are mobs in this game that simply CANNOT be soloed by blm without enhanced movement speed. In case you haven't noticed, SE just released ~200 new NM's that are ALL immune to grav/bind/sleep, a LOT of those are impossible, or just stupidly hard to solo without movement speed.

I will say this again since some people can't read.

I plan on getting em. I coulda used them on my smn these past few forever. It'd be nice to carby kite and run out of range slightly faster! They'd be great in nyzul to for keeping up with the speedy melees. As for blm, if you have better gear or similar gear already then why not get free movement speed? I know I don't have money for gaiters and I have no other job that can benefit from the other pants.
