Because new players shouldn't be overpaying for gear that's mostly useless temporary with no ability to sell it back. And they should be teaming up or soloing not buying. (ambuscade, specifically)

It's actually giving them the benefit of the doubt. Ambuscade specifically is actually very well designed (reward wise) they should be doing easy/normals instead of buying, because it gives gear AND gil, with no lotting, no chance of drop and 100% reward rate.

Do new idiots still pay 10m(12m) for ambu runs, of course. But it's tough to rationalize a brand new player making 30m to buy ambuscade with. What's much more likely is a new bot or account to be sold being bankrolled by their other accounts.

Almost all of the gear from Ambuscade and weapons are still top tier, so its really good for getting people caught up and into content. Maybe gil isn't a problem for them or they have a friend giving them gil to help out when they returned. If they spend 10m they are getting almost two complete sets and a return on the investment via heavy metal or something. I don't see why they are stupid for doing it. You're just really jaded and angry at the whole world.

Getting any ambuscade gear doesn't get you into anything. Nor the weapon. It's only useful as bot pieces until those bots hit su3. Outside of mummus crit rate for DI purposes.

Of course it does, a full Jhakri set is sufficient for something like a BLM/SCH to SC/MB most of Escha/Vagary/Delve. Great for farming JP. A BLU to start AOEing for sparks or some content. The gear is a huge boost for someone returning. The weapons up to Kaja are also a big boost. It's probably one of the fastest ways to upgrade to get into content that you can clear at a reasonable time due to the gear. SU3 is quite expensive for any returning player, so I don't see how they would jump into that gear right away.

If they can't afford su3 they can't afford 30m for ambu mercs either.

My point is that kraken club has largely taken a nosedive in price regardless, and only remains slightly "valuable" due to it being a nostalgia piece.

Theres also just not enough players in the game for any economy to exist. This is pretty much the end result of attempting to have an economy in a game with only a few hundred/thousand players on each server.

More 2 last 2 weeks when price went from 70 to 200m.

Thee is an AH botting "clan" on Bahamut server, led by an account named Gadfather, This a~hole has been price fixing Goldsmithing mats (rhodium ore/ingots, all~ites, sparkling stones, shadow geodes/shadow gems, etc) for YEARS, literally since I joined the server at bare minimum which was about 3 years ago. And has now branched out into many other items. I have a list of basically every mule he uses to buy and sell from himself/herself/themselves. That list is up to about 22 names and I'm certain I don't know them all. Many have to be on separate accounts because you can watch them log in, two to three at a time, then simultaneously log out about 45 seconds later, two to three at a time, in unison, every Saturday morning at around 6:00 AM EST at the Bastok Mines AH.

I have submitted this name, screenshots, info, names of all the mules to SE's Task Force on four separate occasions. There is absolutely no way they do not know about this, no way they can't with minimal effort figure out they are using multiple bot scripts or programs. Yet, he still exists, not one day have I been on this server you don't find Gadfather standing at the Bastok Mines AH at some point during the day. Either this guy works for SE AND plays, knows someone at SE that protects him or Square Enix literally does not care about AH botting and price fixing.

Its really as simple as the "Special Task Force" is just two dudes who share a cubicle that ignore emails all day long.

I can confirm that. This guy was a reason I needed friend to buy me MNK relic shards/voids on Asura. It was way before MNK bandwagon, because MNK is my main, so on Asura price was between 100k to maybe 1M for most and a little more for head. I think I paid like 30M for almost everything and 10M of that was for head. Now on Bahamut the price was 3-5M for EACH shard/void for every slot, so easily above 30M for each piece.

Can this be done solely with SMNs? Using 6 man i mean?
