CATS

and not just the household cat but lions, tigers ect.

They kill for fun.

nope they don't
they kill for territory as well.
and as payment for their owners, to show face they are doing their job.
I've observed a few cats. They kill, let's say, a bird. Leave it where they killed it and walk away.

*** neighbor's cat. 50 birds so far that were left dead in front of my house WHERE it killed the bird.

To support a death penalty system means to say its alright to kill an innocent person.

Just because this woman may not be innocent doesn't mean innocent people haven't died by an imperfect justice system.
To not do so says it's all right to allow guilty people to go and go kill more innocent people

So you're saying that we need to kill some innocent people for a little justice around here?
I am a murderer, I kill time every day of the week.

The US justice system is founded around the principle that it's better to let a few guilty people go than ever wrongfully convict an innocent person.

If that's changed, we have some serious problems.

That is an extreme statement :/ here is the realistic one:

To support a death penalty system means we are willing to risk killing an innocent person due to that fact that we have sooooooo many ways to gain evidence to prove what did/didn't happen in a crime and who was/wasn't involed in it that the likly hood that innocent people whould be killed in this system are low.

So a bird is more threatening than a rabbit, to a cat?

Btw I always see the feathers scattered everywhere. I have also observed a friend's cat "play" with a moth. They're having fun trying to kill something.

They are, significantly so. And states with the death penalty all have higher murder rates than those that do, implying it's an ineffective deterrent.

But I guess it makes us feel better.
I don't happen to think it's right morally, and I'm really against how expensive it is. I can see how it would give the victims' families a sense of justice... I think it's another complicated topic. :\

Edit: By all those "its", I mean capital punishment. XD

You are just superimposing what you would perceive to be fun for a cat.
Quit overlaying human emotions on to animals.
You know what cats like to do?
Cats instinctually hunt, they like to *** sit in the shadows and stare at their prey waiting for a chance to strike man.

What's almost equally concerning is the stigma of an attached crime one keeps, even if found innocent. That thing really screws with you when it comes back to being on good terms in society's eyes.

I think Dasva had a story from one of his Navy buddies who had a chick cry wolf rape, despite it being a fabrication and later dismissed, it still absolutely ruined his chances of a future in numerous choice careers.

kk keep that mindset, i could pull god out of heaven for you and tell you its pure instinct and not fun and you'd still say I'm wrong for the heck of it and for feeling you're right. You couldn't even admit earlier you were wrong on reading my post, proves debating with you is pointless and childish.

What gets me is the lack of consistency.

The people who scream loudest about how the government is over-powered and intrusive, out of control and oppressive, incompetent and inept, are the same ones that want to drastically expand the same government's ability to swoop in and kill them.

they have fun killing. Exact reason why some humans have fun going hunting. They like to kill. It's the only "legal" way to kill.

the government is sometimes useless and has many flawed laws that don't help out when you mostly have the right on your side lol

even those said laws make the process of things very slow when you need them ASAP.

No.
Hunting is instinct man.
Maybe I should go back and remove the word "like"
Sorry I have a tendency to personify things just like the next guy -_-

here:

Cats instinctually hunt, they by nature tend to sit in the shadows and stare at their prey waiting for a chance to strike man.

And it's not only giving the government more power, but causing is more expense for us... people need to think more instead of acting on emotion or repeating what someone tells them. >.<

Not to mention do you realize just how hard it is to actuallly get people excuted? Since my state reinstated the death penalty in 76 there have only been 5 that actually got excuted. All of them took years and were "slam dunk" cases. Hell one guy plead guilty refused to let his lawyer defend him refused appeals saying he wanted that part of him to die and more or less commited state assisted suicide and it still took 3 years lol

On topic, I'm trying to find this one news article (something decently recent, like 2002+) of a death row inmate endless eating his final dinner to avoid the death sentence to show a loophole or something.

no luck >< i heard it somewhere tho.

You're talking about a system where prosecurial behavior makes or breaks trials. A lot of the time there isn't DNA evidence to support it either. At least 39 executions are claimed to have been carried out in the U.S. in the face of evidence of innocence or serious doubt about guilt.

My statement is still alot more accurate then yours :/ . Your statment inplys that 40%~60% of the people convicted are innocent.
