It worked this way last round and I just did it this round today as the reset happened. https://imgur.com/a/4jK2xeK Mhmm. That worked exactly like I said. I mean Jesus *** christ. It's not that god damn complex. Do I have to write it in crayons? Pictures? You tell me how to make it idiotproof for you, and you'll still *** it up. Explain what is unclear. If you missed a day zero objective, it remains on the menu. When you complete it or deactivate it, it auto-rolls over to the day one objective. If you continue to skip the day zero objective, they will roll to day two at jp midnight skipping day one entirely. The phrase "If you missed a day zero objective" makes no mention of "You had to log in ON day 0 TO get the objective in the first place". But whatever man. I already have my title from back when it wasn't complete *** to do. I'm just pointing out that you're full of ***as usual. Asura.Eiryl said: » Read down if you didn't understand what happened with me Asura.Certainly said: » You only see day zero objectives if you were actually logged in during the 7 hours they appeared. If you were logged out during that period, you start with day 1 objectives and never see day 0. Adding Infinity Cores to the Curator Moogle instead of the colored chips would have made the rune item objective a little less annoying.

When I logged back in after JPM, they changed to Day 1 objectives. No ones ever said that happened in the previous 7 bouts, entirely new statement. (never ever ever log out by choice, ever) Tarage said: » The phrase "If you missed a day zero objective" makes no mention of "You had to log in ON day 0 TO get the objective in the first place". Oh gross
It's not just go get 5 eggs from the moogle, it's turn in 5 sets. I'm glad it's not the relic+3 set. Neither my main nor my 15 mules logged in during the 7-hour Day 0, I was sleeping! Logging them all in on Day 1 gave me 11 with access to Day 0 objectives, while my main and 4 mules just had access to Day 1 objectives.
Absolutely not checking them all; 15/15 mules on one char not logged in all have day one objectives
Quote: It would be better if there were around 20 different VBDs, and you could only complete up to 5 of them per day. The egg hunt one is actually time consuming since you can only get a few eggs a day. Harder on low population servers.

It's the 8th round. Not the 1st. Not everyone is as enlightened as you are. In modern games, this whole patchwork of mechanics makes absolutely no sense. Actually I'm not entirely sure if it makes sense in old games either. Quote: The tasks are all unnecessarily time-consuming. The difficulty levels are set with no room for flexibility within the time limit. And now it's just a scramble for items. I'd like the developers to comment on how they expect us to have fun with this. Just changing the name to "reward for breaking the limits" is meaningless. Quote: What Vanabout creates. On servers with large populations, it's nothing more than a free-for-all, first-come, first-served battle among players, where the game's design, negative perceptions of other players, and endlessly pointless waiting times just pile up... The only saving grace is that there's no player killing or kill stealing, but during the event, the world pretty much transforms into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It might be difficult to recognize as a problem, or it might be unavoidable because it's a design choice, but the developers are the ones who set it up, and I think they are also responsible. Why would they intentionally concentrate player traffic when it's so prone to problems and troubles...? Do they want to break it...? Quote: I had a pretty bad experience in the last battle, so this time I'm thinking of ignoring things like Colonize Rave, the competition for triggers, and the BF rush, and instead focus on increasing the number of characters that can earn 200p in the warehouse. Quote: I'm about to reach the limit of my anger. Bismarck.Johnb said: » The egg hunt one is actually time consuming since you can only get a few eggs a day. Harder on low population servers. More effort if you're desperate = 1 more per vana'day from HELM Increase all numbers by 1 after you've done your first "First 3", because talking to the Moogle will give 2 then It's not a short grind, but even fully solo it's doable? Like, yes I'm on Asura, I did buy two eggs to speed things up, but beyond buying exactly two Bazaar eggs I got all the rest myself and that was in two days flat, you have the entire rest of the week to go. The "hack" is just party with the correctly named people (or make mules on triboxes)
If I party with an I and an R then I would get EIR instantly. If you 3box an Fxx Exx Sxx you get instant FES keys every day too yeah it's a great idea to pay $10 startup + $13/mo to get some FES keys and vana'bout plaudits
Day 2 Objectives:
- Auctioning (List a Phoenix Feather, Malboro Fiber, Black Beetle Blood, Damascene Cloth, or Oxblood on the AH, it doesn't have to sell, you just have to list it, can unlist it after) - Meeble Burrows (Do a task in meeble burrows and hand it in) - Treasure Connoisseur (Open 3 brown chests dropped by mobs in Conquest zones, BoxDestroyer for Windower is your friend for this) - Unity: Wanted (Complete any Unity Battle, you have to have the objective for the fight set, can't cheese it) - Fear of the Dark (Trade Secodiand in Northern San d'Oria [F-6] 2 Bat Wings) Lakshmi.Stepth said: » Adding Infinity Cores to the Curator Moogle instead of the colored chips would have made the rune item objective a little less annoying. This, I literally spend 40 min on it, clear dyna bastok 2 times over to no core, bought 3 totally overpriced, trade those, got crap and just walked away from the game, put my shoes on and went for a run… To the tunes of sounding like I have issues, screw this ***for the record I've never done Incursion.
What's the minimum that needs to be done for the VB objective? Can I beat one boss and warp out or ? Any boss 1x yeah. 3 bodies required to enter.
Zone has chaotic aggro, so be ready to fight 3+ mobs in every room at once. They're pretty weak and all, just be ready for more than you thought were coming. Thanks.
My server doesn't have Myriad Mystery Boxes (Treasure Caskets will appear more frequently around the three nations!) active. Is there any specific advice to get them to drop more often? Treasure Hunter? Areas under your nation's control? Another nation's? Beastmen controlled? All luck with no way to influence the drop rate? EverlastingFFXI said: » Thanks. My server doesn't have Myriad Mystery Boxes (Treasure Caskets will appear more frequently around the three nations!) active. The drop rate around the 3 starter nations are at a higher drop rate vs. other zones even without the Kupo Powers. You should have pretty good success farming there. East Ronf had a drop rate that was 10x what was getting AOEing undead in Gustav. Thanks.
With the egg nonsense, the having to spend MORE gil AND items to get chips, cores, the bijou, I reiterate my statement from before. This IS worse than it was before. Possibly the first time it's been markedly worse.
It makes me very glad I already got the title and never have to do it again. Possibly the first time it's been markedly worse. It makes me very glad I already got the title and never have to do it again. You're insane. The bijou is easy, the egg is easy if you just figure out how to do it (and you have 10 freaking days). Spending gil on bronzite results in (a) completing a VB task (trading with Curator Moogle), and (b) rewarding you with THREE colored chips. Those chips can be traded to the strange apparatus to get rune weapons and complete the VB objective, OR can be traded to a non-matching apparatus to get... an elemental that can drop an extra infinity core (need to farm 1 core of your own to get started). Demonstrating the alternate way to get infinity cores that requires no Dynamis competition with any other people, even if you're on Asura. So, actually kind of a smart and elegant design. WKRs last time were way worse than any of this, replacing with colonization is a huge improvement. They've so far avoided things like people getting locked out of an objective if they had spent weekly sparks limit, an issue last time. I got a specific campaign op objective last time that I didn't have access to on one of my characters (the one without max WotG rank locked, so rank had decayed down to start), so missed that one. Nothing like that this time. Feels like pure improvement to me. Day 3 Objectives:
- Chocobo Digging (Dig with a rental or raised chocobo 10 times successfully) - Normal or Higher (Complete V1/V2 Ambu on Normal or Higher once) - Donations (Give Gajaad in Al Zahbi [J-6] an Imperial Bronze Piece) - Gobbie Mystery Box (Open any dial on the gobbiebox once) - Shady Business (Give Talib in Port Bastok [F-6] 4 Zinc Ore) Normally I agree pretty often with your thoughts Capuchin but I will chime that I feel 5 turn ins of egg sets is a bit excessive. I think 3 would've been a more reasonable middle ground while still encouraging people to engage with the seasonal event, but that one is just my opinion! It has been neat to see people actively trying to do it though. Also I agree on the WKRs from previous Vananout.
In relation to the strange apparatus rune stuff; I had some people in a linkshell I'm in say they did apparatus runs but didn't get any rune items, therefore didn't get VB credit and were disheartened. I'm guessing this is related to the "doctor status" section on the wiki? I'm going to presume people in my LS were likely skipping that part. Even if you get doctor status, a rune item isn't guaranteed
Egg hunt certainly does blow. But a linkshell has no excuse really. If you team up with ls mates you can make your eggs 100% picks. ...you still have to spent like 10 combined hours collecting eggs though. |
