I dont mean with the virus, which is catastrophically mishandled. I mean with society and corporations in general. Companies are demanding bailouts after spending all their money on stock buybacks, republican senators blocking aide to americans, rich people getting tested while sick people are getting sent home, poor working families having to choose between starving to death or coming into work sick. You have to be a real monster to look at at all this and go "yeah I wanna keep things the same" I agree with some of this, but don’t equate resistance to poorly thought out changes as wanting to keep things the same. The types of changes we need are not the ones being proposed, because they’re probably not going to be popular. For example, us doing what it takes to fix the deficit would require bipartisan concessions that neither side wants. Airlines stock buyback is absurd
This article better explains why I'm supporting Elizabeth Warren and other Dems insistence that stipulations be included for any airline buyout. The chart at the bottom of the article says it all. Scroll right to see the whole numbers. I think we need to go back to letting other people stand at the podium during the coronavirus briefings, because Trump was an idiot today.
turned on the tv a bit ago. rumors that china is doing more organ harvesting on political prisoners and others~
volkom said: » turned on the tv a bit ago. rumors that china is doing more organ harvesting on political prisoners and others~ I’ve heard the situation in China is worse than advertised. Coronavirus live updates: Italy surpasses China's death toll; CDC warns young people; US deaths at 154
USA Today Italy v China is in raw numbers, not percentages. Of course few of us, lefty, righty, or neutral, trust China's numbers. McConnell floats $1,200 checks
I'm sure kireek will suggest he is stealing this idea from Bernie Sanders. But stupidity aside, its pretty crazy that the GOP is just flying headlong into this concept. Dems welcome it, of course. But fiscal conservatives must be imploding on the inside. kireek said: » Dems don't welcome it at all, they are afraid of Trump getting positive coverage from free money this close to the election. Only the socialists are welcoming it and they are doing so because Bernie is losing. Yeah we have already established you are lying. Its ok though, hold onto those fantasies. volkom said: » do you think that the US will reach levels like italy/china? We have a total disregard for human life in the US.

US just spent half a billion USD on an emergency order of medical materials. China just sent 5000 healthworkers to europe to help them cope with it. Again, lets not forget, as time goes on, the start of this debate; you guys said the Trump is doing "great" on combating covid-19, better than any other nation. Watch how this continues to unfold, when incompetent uneducated, ill-informed, prejudice and bigoted populations put a person like Trump in power. Kudos to Boris Johnson. Not sure if he's actually good, or if he just seems really good when you juxtapose and compare him against how utterly HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE Trump is. Offline

Other nations don't try to profiteer from their healthcare system. Its a subsidized necessity of society. a cost, not a profit center. 2. Trump, Trump, Trump - 4 weeks of him talking it down. He should be charged with crimes against humanity. and this time, its the american public who are going to be the victims 3. While China said "open cheque to fight corona", the congress were debating who pays for it. 4. Prioritizing business over human well being. 5. Complete ignorance of those who I call the right. His bloody spray on tan should have been enough for everyone to realize he was a primative excuse for a man. Yet he is more popular than ever. This is like back to the future 2, where Biff is president. some kind of comical satire on society... only its real. Yadda yadda yadda, America bad, Trump bad, whine, whine, whine.
Hydroxychloroquine is used against Malaria. Has this been verified and tested to have an impact on COVID-19 or any of the other Coronaviruses? Or is this one of his wild shots in the dark?
DirectX said: » kireek is the product of a wild shot in the dark Well I went and did a quick google on this: Quote: This week, researcher Didier Raoult from Aix-Marseille University in France, one of the main proponents for using hydroxychloroquine to treat infection with the novel coronavirus—known as SARS-CoV-2—released encouraging results of a preliminary trial involving a total of 36 COVID-19 patients. Between early and mid-March, Raoult and his team treated 20 of these patients with 600 milligrams of hydroxychloroquine daily in a hospital setting. Depending on their symptoms, an antibiotic known as azithromycin was also added to the treatments. This antibiotic is known to be effective against complications from bacterial lung disease. The 16 remaining patients were not given the drug as a control. In the study, the scientists observed a "significant" reduction in viral load in the patients treated with hydroxychloroquine, and that the effect was reinforced by azithromycin, Medscape reported. In fact, after six days, 70 percent of the treated patients were considered cured, meaning that the virus was no longer detected in samples taken from them, compared to 12.5 percent of the control group patients. Furthermore, all six patients who were treated with both hydroxychloroquine and the antibiotic azithromycin tested negative for the virus after six days. The medical field is optimistic but also saying there needs to be a larger test pool and that this was not done with blind subjects etc. Also this research hasn't been subjected to official review. However, I'm thinking the key factor is Azithromycin: Quote: Azithromycin is an antibiotic used for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections. This includes middle ear infections, strep throat, pneumonia, traveler's diarrhea, and certain other intestinal infections. It can also be used for a number of sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia and gonorrhea infections |
