PANic + epiDEMIC = PANDEMIC!

Rav, why did you throw that kireek post a like? It doesn't show Schumer opposing the idea of sending out checks. Its a 2 min clip of Schumer calling for action.
I notice you omitted the clip this time, that does not feature what you are alleging. It does have that part of the quote that the article cites, but of course, it doesn't have what they conveniently added. You would think they would actually include it in their clip, since its the main feature of their bogus article.

Maxine Waters proposes Fed cut 2k checks to every asult and 1k to every dependent for each month of pandemic
Oh, a Dem leader calling for monthly checks. A bit extreme, but her committee will be involved in writing the next bill that Congress passes. Every conservative outlet is putting her front and center to highlight what a bad idea it is. So the idea that Dem leadership opposes financial assistance to Americans is bogus.

If even you think so, that’s really saying something.

$6k/mo for a family of four basically would be great if they have low income. why is that extreme?

Because there is no way to pay for it. I mean, I have never pretended to be fiscally conservative, I've gotten a kick out of watching the GOP pretend to be over the years when its convenient for them but all of sudden abandon it when they finally get control, but what we are talking about here is a huge deficit balloon.
Just a single 1k check to every eligible American has already been estimated (via eyeballing, not an OBM estimate) at 250b. I'm not gonna get hard into the maths, but lets just go with, for the sake of argument, Waters proposal would cost 1 trillion dollars per month. Right now the deficit under Trump has already gone over a trillion, Waters proposal would at the least, double it in 1 month. Another 1 trillion in May? Thats a 3T deficit. It would take this country 50 years, minimum, to pay down that deficit.

Vic’s got it right. We would probably have to print money to cover it, inflation would kick in before long, and suddenly that X amount of dollars is worth a lot less than X.

Maxine is a random nobody with no ability to do anything, the leadership needs to say these things.
That you had to go that far down says it all.
ur so mad, love it.

Every sentence is a lie, love it. Maxine Waters chairs the House Finances Comittee, ie, the committee that is in charge of the money. She is always heavily involved in writing of the budget bills, and guess what? Both of the coronavirus bills thus far. And, she will be involved in the bill that provides monthly assistance to all Americans. Nice troll attempt tho. I provided an example of Dem leadership supporting their idea of monthly checks, while you sit at zero examples. Because you made it up.

We are already looking at a 2T deficit with the actual proposals that are being discussed right now, without Maxine Waters and her ideas. The number on the stimulus bill right now is 1.3T, and the GOP is mostly on board with it, but they are gonna lose votes. The Dems haven't lost any votes thus far, and there is no reason to think they will, so the conspiracy theories that kireek is putting out there are just absurd.
Realistically, this time next year the country will have a 2.5T deficit, regardless of the outcome of the election.

What conspiracy theories, it's what he said. Be mad at Schumer not me.
Watched the clip, he didn't even mention the checks. At best, you are desperately trying to take something Schumer said out of context, and no one is buying your core lie that Trump wants to send out checks and the Dems don't.

I think Schumer is hearkening back to 2008/2009 when Unemployment benefits were extended from the max of 26 weeks to 99 weeks. In California, the max benefit is $450.00 per week, so instead of getting $11.7k over the course of 6 months, one would receive $44.55k over the course of just under 2 years with that stimulus. Additionally, there were 2 (was it 2 or 1?) $500 checks that were sent to all US citizens.
Given inflation, I could see 2 $1000 checks being sent, and perhaps an unemployment stimulus like the one above. That way the ones out of work temporarily would have that replacement for lost income now, and the ones laid off permanently will have that as well as a future plan to get them back on their feet. I don't think it is wise to assume the economy will just bounce back to where it was once this pandemic passes. It might, but it also could take months/years to get back.

This ***has so thoroughly exposed america and its shortcomings.
At this point, you have to be all the way brainwashed to think that we are in a good spot right now.
I dont mean with the virus, which is catastrophically mishandled.
I mean with society and corporations in general.
Companies are demanding bailouts after spending all their money on stock buybacks, republican senators blocking aide to americans, rich people getting tested while sick people are getting sent home, poor working families having to choose between starving to death or coming into work sick.
You have to be a real monster to look at at all this and go "yeah I wanna keep things the same"
By Viciouss 2020-03-19 12:50:52
Corporate tax cuts never work. Thats why I support the stipulations the Dems are insisting on for the airline bailout. Don't get me wrong, I support the airline bailout, just like I supported the auto bailout. But buybacks absolutely must be banned.

After the ***they pulled post 9/11 with increases on amenities that have never returned to norm, and this new pay to play seating business model preying on families. My emotional stance is “***’em”.

You're the one trying to use people dying to get your party elected.
Wow. That isn't anywhere near funny. It's demented.

Rich people having special treatment is nothing new, but as I've mentioned before
Companies are demanding bailouts after spending all their money on stock buybacks
This is just ridiculous.
I’m all for supporting and subsidizing companies that step up and start producing what’s needed like respirators and test kits. However, some of these utilities and industrial companies that are taking a loss because of supply chain issues, wanting a hand out when we’re supposed to be a Capitalist and Social Darwinist Capitalists at that is some “Socialism for the rich and cut throat Capitalism for the poor” bs in the flesh.
Im just ranting I wouldn’t endorse or object to any of these posts with any degree of seriousness.
I work in IT so it’s not really affecting me but I see others getting into financial panic mode. We could just do better and we have the means to instead of throwing 1.5 Trillion in the garbage like we did last week. Yea yeah sure it’s going be paid back but we have bigger issues and the market is a placebo/ red herring and can take care of itself.
Because the coronavirus outbreak needs its own topic.
And OH BOY does it get political.
