I don't always check the official site. But when I do, it tends to be on Job Adjustment notices. They're getting pretty good at hitting their mark with them, though they still are a long ways off on a few jobs.

I keep looking to go through this and do more than I have, but I keep feeling uncomfortable and as though I'd almost rather scrap the confusing parts. Why usu +1 in idle? Just to show off? If you're playing PUP you're probably not about bragging rights unless it's over soloing everything and its mother.

Also, editing gearsets means I'm so fortunate enough to end up with another 20 sets or so in my own list...

Looking at the gear sets, you have Felistris Mask in the non-mythic/pre-119 sets which PUP cannot equip at all.

Trux Brutal are superiors for fodder, WKR ice legs also BIS I do believe. Will have to spread sheet again. Otronif +1 with no augments still beating nomkahpa +1 for fodder. I'm assuming for STP reasons. And for feet battlecaster are better for acc the Qaaxo. And C path Qaaxo are hard to beat for WS from everything I have put in spread sheets

ACC out the eyeballs
ItemSet 322508

Edit: Obvious changes for when using pet are sash and AA hands. Something that actually may be relevant come October update.

Edit x2: maybe post update the added acc atk nomkahpa may be BIS. I had a pair back pre SOA. I'd love to see them make a come back.

fixed spread sheet. Nomkahpa+1 beating otronif by 4ish dps with no augment. 2%DA on otronif +1 and otronif +1 beating Nomkahpa +1 by 5-6dps Using only haste II as a buff

assuming the 119 sets aren't just for fodder, and due to the prices on woe gear, i'm going to avoid nomkapa for the moment. if i use history as an indicator, most of the woe stuff will be situational and replaced in a shorter time frame than competitor gear. windbuffet excluded.

many ppl are confused by pup, so i need to make the entry level ilvl sets somewhat reasonable to attain, without a 10m+ price tag. can go crazy on the 119/mythic sets. after a 200m+ weapon, price isnt really an issue.

You should include these:

http://www.ffxiah.com/item/20543/maochinoli

With OAT/Crit+4 they are a powerful and easy-to-get option.

will consider it. they are more of a toy weapon when compared to tinhaspa or oatixur. you really dont use them much against higher enemies but they are fun in something like salvage or dyna, though they kill faster so dyna proccing would become more difficult.

They should out perform most other option in content you don't need the extra accuracy from a higher ilvl weapon but otherwise Esor is right, they're toys.

But for an entering ilvl set, they're perfect which is I believe where Safi was coming from. They should at least tide someone over until they can get a 119 weapon.

Revisions looking good. Otronif+1 with about any augment beats nomkahpa +1

And new capes can be considered.

What buffs/targets are being used for these comparisons? Want to make sure I'm inputting these sets correctly as I mess with them.

Most people probably fight more fodder on pup than anything else, though? I love the job but for us it mostly sees use in Dyna, reives, or Salvage. For that level of content, WKR H2H probably beats everything outside of Kenkonken.

Typically I'd says building sets for Dyna DC (/thf) and salvage (/war?) ,I rather /Sch before I /dnc, are going to be of interest. But many of the "lower" tier pup players I see are trying to do WKR,skirmish, and even delve on their pup.

Edit: and safe to assume whm auto in Dyna so haste and RDM auto in salvage so haste 2. Probably best to adjust spread sheet for upcoming new H2H skill as I already have.

That's why my sets were coming out so differently... I've been assuming delve with at least Marches/minuet on top of haste.

Not as worried as I was before. I'm going to continue this.

I see it now. My mistake. A little sad cause it's a Kenkonken set which is a little less useful for the thread since not everyone has it. However, I still see tiny improvements:

I finally have my PC back so had a busy weekend with school, updating programs, working everything out in windower. I'll toss this set out there for consideration. More to come this week.

Tojil standard buffs: HasteII, March, Minuet, Minuet, chaos, fighters, sushi, no AM.

ItemSet 328717
Looking at the set there's very minor improvements that can be made. By minor I mean it's barely an increase of 13 DPS. However, I will say this is also rushed and so there are no augments on the head or hands which would pull this set further ahead.
ItemSet 287294
Changes are Whirlpool -> Uk'uxkaj (this surprised me a bit but I suppose you really don't need the extra att/acc from Whirlpool in this situation)
Qaaxo hands -> Otronif +1, the more DA or even Crit you have augmented on these the better they become.
and finally Qaaxo -> Manibozho, which was the biggest thing I wanted to check to begin with.

The obvious Cons for this increased DPS are that you're losing defensive utility by switching to lower iLVL gear in the head and legs. However, I'm a firm believer in switching to DT- sets so this still seems logical. If you're truly worried about the damage you're taking, keep the Qaaxo Pants as they're probably the biggest defensive jump for these changes.

On top of this I will say that Rancorous Mantle will not be used even though it provided a fairly large boost to damage. Simply because on things like Tojil I don't see the DT+ working out well for anyone.

With this set posted I will say that it is also the go to set for Tinhaspa with the only switch out being Quiahuiz(str/pdt) beating out Manibozho since you don't need the extra accuracy.

Edited because his head was already Uk' but it wasn't displaying for me.

When I get off work. I'll see about making a more fodder/lowbee friendly set.

lets set baselines for comparisons as tojil (minimum) and incursion 125 (average) i dont see non mythic pup having a place in delve 2 so im ruling those nms out, but incursion is big enough many ppl can join, and i find myself having acc issues tohere on nms on other jobs. because pups effectiveness is niche, and increases dramatically the fewer people in the party, we have to concider what targets we will most often face carefully.

secondly, for ppl starting out or just joining us on pup, i pose the question, is there any real benefit to manibozo over qaaxo? I reccomend to everyone i talk too, if you're just getting started, or returning to delve , unless you had it R15 before to skip mani and go qaaxo. if there is any hard evidence to the contrary please let me know.

That is perfectly fine. I'll admit I got overly zealous going for maximum DPS. Though the point stands that the only state I've seen Qaaxo win is that of defense which can be done just as easily with gear swaps. On top of this manibohzo is cheaper to upgrade since it requires about half as many airelixers.

As for incursion sets: I can only assume their evasion since I've had no hard stats presented to me. As I said in my last post though when looking at a proper tinhaspa set for Tojil, I came up with essentially the same set as that for Kenkonken, the difference being a switching of the legs due the extra accuracy that comes from r15b.

Now, if incursion mobs have incredibly higher evasion than Tojil(which I can see being a possibility due to it's ilvl but I have no personal experience to play on) that set would need to be tweaked slightly, obvious changes would be Dispersal mantle, ej necklace and Whirlpool mask, likely in that order. I also want to mess with sets based on more average buffs since often time we don't have the benefits of both a brd and a cor.

Either way, give me an idea of what is wanted and I can play with sets.

Also keep in mind I will not be dealing in hybrid pet sets until after the update due to wanting to see if the acc buff is enough to make gearing hybridly worth something on harder content because otherwise it's fairly certain we're still better off gearing for master damage unless you are a Kenkonken user with AM3 up.

All good. hybrid sets are in practice usually for lower content, or AM3 exclusive from my experience. Almost all pre adoulin content i use a hybrid (pet haste/acc) set, yet when in adoulin, its mostly whm puppet and full mnk-lite mode.

for incursion, i see full acc/pet acc and VE being a positive option. playstyle wise, in a dps setting i believe a 1 maneuver style is probably the most balanced approoach. if master/pet both have capped haste/capped acc, we can warrant our spot in a party.

We'll see if pet acc will be useful in incursion. If their evasion is really that high to warrant us being in full acc gear I doubt we'll be able to get the pet to hit accurately unless this update goes well.

As for maneuvers. I would assume 1-2 maneuvers at all times simply because there is time to put maneuvers up between kills and depending on kill speed this allows for stacking them a little easier without hurting DPS as much.

Since high level gear sets are easy, I'm currently looking at the more entry level ones instead. I see a pre-119 set on the front page but most of it contains delve gear and I feel that's a little overwhelming for newcomers/returning players.

Going to stay away from delve equipment and aim for ~115ilvl. It's going to seem redundant but I think it'll be helpful.

Edit: Done with "entrance set"

Input/changes welcome. Keep in mind these are entry level so it's getting them ready for Delve/Outer Ra'kaz/high-tier battlefields.

yeah i just left those other sets there from kyo, cause they're alright sets, but data conflicted with them. honestly, im concidering adding a 3rd tier of sets for new players going 109> 115 > 117ish (which would be your two sets there)

on another note, i'm not sure what to do about the def sets. specifically having multiple sets of otronif overlapping tp/pdt/mdt. people should know the best option, but having it all the same gear raises issues, and alternatives are thin.

I know what you mean, but hard to switch it up given that Otronif is the best option for DT-. Best you can do is add a note underneath the sets explaining it so it seems less confusing.

Actually... that MDT- set could be remade. It doesn't take into account Shell V which as PUP we're going to have no matter what, even solo. Should switch out Otronif for higher MDB/Magic Evasion pieces.

not sure if 2 mdt is worth 10 Meva but i went with it for the moment. (pitre head vs qaaxo head) just using base stats, no augments would free up inventory so your path A/B qaaxo is also your mdt/eva set

Close enough and your set saves space.

Though can eliminate Qaaxo leggings to save more space since Battlecast are our best acc tp option anyway and also serve the same PDT purpose as well.

Could technically push this set further in body and hands with a couple more mage pieces that have higher magic evasion. But I know I'm already pushing people's inventory with the legs and head there.

Also for a high Acc Tinhaspa set:
ItemSet 269208
This was coming out best and if you need to you can still switch out Windbuffet+1 for Hurch or Manibozho for Qaaxo as I've said before.

What is our target? Buffs? Food? This is a great set but still room for more ACC. just may want to present those options for people.

Building sets for incursion is a little complex. As you have different levels of incursion, different lvl of NMs, THF based mobs and so on. I have 4 different Acc sets increasing in ACC and defense. And the a final ACC vomit set.

I do believe most the sparks gear is great for MDB. not all. But I know a few choices are choice.

I'm a big fan of my otronif gear. I only have one set and I went for a minimum 3% pdt/mdt on it. That was my priority augment. Then working for DA/crit.

Something entry lvl players need to expect is. Our gear may not be good enough and you may need to have another job geared so you can aquire what you need.

EDIT: I missed you more on the bottom about belt and legs. Guess just mention of Qaaxo hands, and ring options.
