updated current set:

Goal is to change out head/body and get better augments on hands/legs/feet with what's currently available. Wonder if Ares is coming back with neo-nyzul with anything useful for CDC...

So just real quick since I'm curious. The only way heca legs +1 beats phorcys legs is with plus 7 attack augment?

Wat?

Phorcys - DEX+10 Attack+24
Hecatomb+1 - DEX+9 Attack+22

Notable augment on heca is Crit rate (up to 4)
Any halfway decent augment on heca makes it destroy phorcys

Sorry to bump this yet again, but I've scanned a few PLD CDC threads/posts and cant see any mention (or very few mentions at least, not even in Neosutra's awesome thread) of the Avant Gauntlets.

They are what I use at the moment but wonder if worth consolidating a gear slot and going with the Creed Gauntlets +2, going Avant Gauntlets +1 or digging out my old (NQ) Hecas from the moogle.

Also in the mind set of inventory consolidation, buy myself a Zahak's Mail 'till the Twilight decides to drop for me (Calma body is a little out of my price range at the moment as saving for relic), or stick with the +2 Creed body.

Thoughts? Thanks! And a thousand pardons for the bump ^^;

Huginn gambieras for sure.
And I'm honestly not sure if Phorcys korazin is the best option for body? (is it?)

I was under the impression Fulad-zerah was the best body, but I'm not 100% sure.

I think this would be the goal with what's currently available in game.

This is what I currently have

gloves have +3% crit damage (needs improvement)

legs have +4 crit hit rate/subtle blow

feet have +2 crit hit rate/+4 subtle blow (need valk not nq, or huginn would be nice)

Debating whether Grandoyne's Mail beats Fulad-Zerah though... Anyone?

Stats: Grandoyne's Mail:
[Body] All Races
DEF:77 STR+12 DEX+12 Attack+19 Critical hit rate +2% Haste+3%
LV 99 WAR PLD DRK BST SAM DRG

STATS: Fulas-Zerah
[Body] All Races
DEF:67 STR+15 DEX+15 Accuracy+15 Attack+15 Evasion-15 "Double Attack"+3%
LV 97 WAR PLD DRK BST SAM NIN

no - you're looking for crit hit rate +4% on heca+1 legs

Current Set:
ItemSet 207022

Desired Set:

ItemSet 286085

Ideal Set II (easier obtainable gear then desired set)

ItemSet 295814

Hecatomb Mittens +1 best augments would be Crit Damage +4% and Sword Skill +4 and accuracy +6

Hecatomb subligar +1 best augments would be Crit hit rate +4, accuracy +7, and subtle blow + 4

Alternative feet that would be better then Karieyh sollerets, but not as good as augmented Huggin Gambieras are Valkeries Sabatons augmented with Crit hit rate +3, and Crit hit Damage +5%.

I think best heca legs are

(stat)(acc+7)
(crit rate +4%)

But just be lucky to get any acc along with 4% crit rate, several 4% ones will prob have pet stats or evasion.

Edit: I didnt miss or miss-read what you said, what I am saying is that your suggestive max augments should be 1-3str/dex 6-7acc and 4% crit, I believe this is possible.

Idk bout you but: Cuchulain's Belt an option in your inventory? You may just overlooked it.

Edit: idk if Wanion beats it or not and fSTR rules and other voodoos just looked at it and was like ... hey there is Cuchulain's too!

I would have to go way back in parses to find the testing that I did, wanion wins though against light belt and cuchulain.

Wanion > Light > cuchulain

I thought there was a better head than Drachenhorn? I may be mistaken, but isn't the Attack +5% off of your base attack before buffs/etc? STR+16 DEX+16 ACC+10 on the Karieyeh piece, for example.

Would you say that light belt is the second best CDC waist?

So naked with 95 Almace and 8/8 merits I'm 498 attack with no buffs, and at 99 will be higher. So Drachenhorn gives me 24.9 attack and 2 more STR and DEX; the 12 STR gives slightly higher fSTR then twilight. The 10 STR from twilight helm also equals 5 attack, therefore you wind up with a total of 30 attack and the 12 STR on Drachenhorn gives you 31 attack, marginally better, but then we can start formulating dDEX. Since dDEX depends on target AGI, you may or may not cap this out, but the 4 extra DEX on Karieyeh isn't going to make or break the difference.

The Karieyeh will give you the highest amount of fSTR and WS modifier, but lacks in attack all around which PLD is hungry for so wherever you can get attack in your CDC set, get it.

I'm sticking by the Drachenhorn as still the best for CDC, and twilight second best because of the attack on it. Certainly 99 Almace will benefit mostly from Drachenhorn, while 90 and below may not be better then Twilight Helm. With all the DEX in CDC, you shouldn't need to be stacking ACC anywhere in your build.

Drachenhorn 12 STR/DEX, 31 total attack (95 Almace)
Twilight Helm 10 STR/DEX, 30 total attack
Karieyeh Helm 16 STR/DEX, 8 total attack, slightly higher DEX mod.

Light Belt beats Cuchulain, but one I haven't considered is Artful Belt +1. I would have to test, but I'd say Artful Belt +1 > Cuchulain hands down (10 DEX = 5 ACC if you're worried about swooshing).

PS - I'm not going to test.

What am I missing? I cant understand how, from those numbers, the level of almace would make a difference between Twilight or Drachenhorn.
