Kirin's Osode? a lot easier to get and less annoying when NM doesn't drop :/
I finished Level 80 Kannagi over the weekend and expect to be done with Level 85 Kannagi within the next few days. I started gathering gear for Blade: Hi, and was looking for critiques.
I'm a bit unsure about the neck and belt. I've heard that elemental gorget/belt beat Hope Torque and Crudelis/Anguinus when PDIF is capped, but I'm not entirely convinced on the whole idea that PDIF is always at cap within Abyssea. Thanks in advance. pDIF is definitely not capped fulltime... Hitrate frequently is, but even with Berserk + Stalwart's there's probably the occasional NM you're not capped on even with appropriate debuffs. With that in mind, Anguinus will frequently be your best belt with Crudelis close behind. Only other major change that jumps out at me is Epona's Ring.
I know you guy talking about Blade: Hi, but i think you should also give a try with Shadow belt.
I was talking about that belt with Dasva on another thread, for some weirdo reason anguinus should be better but is not. My first test was in abyssea - Mis on lolibri, and as Dasva say maybe was due to Crit rate luck ect, so i did the test again outside abyssea this time, and i also made sure to not include any DMG that was not returning 13 TP. Note all those WS been done naked with belt only and on a sub-target (unclaim target using menu to WS) that way i got ride of double/tripple attack in account. And here the result i got again: --Naked Anguinus Belt-- -121 tp- The Aht Urhgan Attercop takes 1023 points of damage. (13 TP return) -100 tp- The Aht Urhgan Attercop takes 1132 points of damage. (13 TP return) -102 tp- The Aht Urhgan Attercop takes 947 points of damage. (13 TP return) Total: 19,879/20 = 993.95 Result was kinda a deception, because there no real evidence at all that Anguinus Belt is actually beating shadow belt, But i noted a lots of time having 24 to 32 TP return with shadow belt [Conserve TP +7] and that do help for sure. I am still gonna test both belt in abyssea using same way, but this time with atma and see the result. Several issues with your test:
1) While Hi is a single-hit WS, there's the offhand attack and any (fairly frequent) DAs/TAs to consider. Those extra hits are a significant portion of why Anguinus wins, but you restricted your tests to a specific TP return. 1a) Anguinus has DA+1%, which isn't represented in your sample. 2) Level correction increases the value of attack, Attercops are well below EM. 3) Your sample size is 20. Nowhere near large enough for a good confidence interval. I appreciate your testing, but it's not really useful for determining which piece is better in practice. Given that we know how each belt works, it's really not that hard to establish which is better in a more reliable and conclusive fashion. I thanks you for your comment, i did the test without any restriction, and Shadow belt still won, but i got told it could be due to DA,TA, Crit rate ect, is why this time i did the test just to compare the +15 attack VS +.1 fTP and see the result of it.
I know 20 WS is not really the best test ever, The only DMG i droped btw was the one gave me 4~8 TP return (since that clearly show it was some HIT that missed in the 5 fold attack) I am still working to test it again in abyssea where the PDIF is most likely caped, that could explain why i had like 400 dmg difference with shadow belt, since in scenario of caped PDIF, fTP would win all the way again +15 attack. If anyone have other test they wan share about it, that would be awesome too, ill should be back soon with the test in Abyssea and normal area without restricting anything, of course they gonna be base on 20 WS, due to time it take. This test been done with full gear this time, THF90/DNC45 with Haste Samba full time and Red Curry Bun full time. Monster: Aht Urhgan Attercop, Zone bhaflau Remnants (reason i test on these is because they level are static, they are also Easy prey) I plan do more testing in Abyssea, but that might turn harder since Mob level change.

Anyway, recently updated my Blade: Hi set to best I could: MKD Hat is DEX AGI +4 Crit dmg +2% WS dmg +2%. Elemental Belt over Crudelis if you ask me as it can help with the accuracy as I've noticed sometimes you get those weird main hand miss on the ws even with pizza +1 on cheap mobs >_>. For the back piece you can use Forager/Amemet +1 and a +AGI ring in the meantime. Again, Motenten's spreadsheet I posted a few pages back is a a good source of info for various gear setups which includes Atma gear food etc. if you want to fo all out by stacking agi on slots bar neck and waste then this set would be better, why to people that go for 2 agi earrings over look the 2 in this item set

I just swapped out from full Agi to Agi and attack and my numbers are a lot better. I'm using RR/GH/Apoc (we typically kill nms and it's hard not having rr sometimes).
Nin has gotten HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE tho, I'm like 90/80 slots atm. I have to keep stuff in satchel depending on what I'm fighting. It's hard to have tp/ws/pdt and mdt gear in inventory all at once. rr gh apoc is pretty standard; the only real difference between your set and other sets is tumbler trunks.
Varangian Helm is pretty good in attack uncapped situations too.
