I'm not getting into a posting war here, just gonna give you my thoughts. Quite frankly alot of ppl in this game are way too jobist. If you know how to play your job then there shouldn't be any problems. I do most of my meriting in campaign because apparently I don't have any good meripo jobs >.> WAR which I hate to play, blu and dnc.

And yes I plan to merit 5/5 reverse flourish. 5% more haste imo will not change much. With my haste gear and haste samba up I attack every 2-4 seconds. Add smn or rdm haste to that and I attack every 1-2 seconds. Now if I'm soloing or duoing in campaign I wear my eva set and usually put up fan dance so can't even use haste samba with that. If I can't pull a mob away I'm in haste gear so I'm wsing to get dmg so building flourish is more useful.

Why would anyone merit something for someone else just to get meripo invite, that to me is bs. You are ultimately lvling a job for yourself not for what you can do for other ppl.

It's not about what can work, it's about what works best.

As I've said many times, I don't like to merit much, so when I do, I want my party to be as efficient as possible. If it's not optimal, I'd rather do something besides merit.

Reverse Flourish isn't the problem here, Building Flourish is.
Changes a hell of a lot with buffs.
So cut another 5% off that, which will show dramatically increased returns with respect to TP gain.

Let's put it this way. Meritting Building Flourish, 5/5, will give a roughly 5% total increase to your next WS, whereas 5/5 Haste Samba will increase your DoT by at LEAST 5%, increase WS frequency by at LEAST 5%, and improve everyone around you by at LEAST 5%.

That's assuming you're not Dual Wielding and have no other Haste.

Your mistake was to mean Building Flourish. Should have meant Haste Samba.

All of this is true. For those of you going BUT I'M NOT USING HASTE SAMBA, consider the following:

Reverse Flourish and Building Flourish consume the same resources: time (Flourish recast) and Finishing Moves. Using Building Flourish means you can't Reverse Flourish for another 10 seconds, slowing your TP gain. It also consumes Finishing Moves, meaning your Reverse Flourish is weaker.

Now tell me, which is better: half a WS/some curing/buffs/debuffs or a small boost to WS damage?

If you're soloing an NM, would haste samba help you when you need to ws... not really

You can merit whatever you want but the discussion is about what's most efficient. It's obviously your own choice but don't argue that something else is more efficient when it's not.
