Coronavirus death toll estimation USA
I was reading an article where a study was done showing that the virus does not survive well in warmer temperatures and humidity. It'll be interesting to see how that pans out over the next week or two as we'll be hitting the 90s (32°C+)

Brazil on the other hand has 34,485 reported cases and 2181 deaths. I'm sure there are many factors, but hopefully higher temperatures have a positive impact. We are going to have fewer anti abortion protesters!
Anti-Abortion Protesters Secure Right To Flout Michigan’s Stay-At-Home Order The activists settled a lawsuit against the city of Detroit and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer allowing them to protest outside the Scotsdale Women’s Center. HuffPo Not really a viable comparison. There's no reason to make vaccines for SARS or MERS... there is considerable reason for Covid-19.
kireek said: » I posted this in the other thread but I'll post this here too There is no guarantee there will ever be a vaccine, we still don't have one for sars or mers from 15 years ago. Yeah, did you see that on Fox News? Dr Fauci shut down that *** argument. Fox news.com
kireek said: » Yeah so you made it up, you were off my block list for 10 minutes. Time to change that back. Lol! I don't care if you block me, it doesn't change the fact you're always wrong. As I said, Dr. Fauci went on Fox News and shut down the SARS comparison. It's dead. *tinfoil hat* they don't want to cure HIV because it disproportionately affects homosexuals.
This is different. Anyone else watching the "One World: Together at Home?" It's is a live streaming event, thanking people on the front lines of the coronavirus response.
A few moments ago an artist I didn't recognize sang a song called "Coffin" about a coffin built for 2. Does that seem a bit of an inappropriate choice given the reason for the event? Jessie Reyez - COFFIN ft. Eminem (?)
It's just music. Play it because it's popular not because of the "message" Asura.Eiryl said: » Jessie Reyez - COFFIN ft. Eminem (?) It's just music. Sorry to come off as the cranky old man, out of touch with current music lol. DirectX said: » 42,514 now. Will it really go above 60k? 60K in what timeframe? This month? By summer? Georgia hasn't even hit their peak yet and they're reopening businesses on Friday. I think we still top out over 100k before the year is up. I had earlier said 250k, but it seems most of the states have finally started handling things on their own, which is good. FEDERALISM IN ACTION, BOIS. Georgia deciding to close the parachute when they're still 1000 feet off the ground might spike that number significantly. Just a guess, but gonna go with
"abso-***-lutely" Considering protests and premature openings. DirectX said: » 42,514 now. Will it really go above 60k? Uh, yes? The number has nowhere to go but up. Unfortunately, cracks are starting to show among states that don't want to take the shutdown seriously, so we are looking at a premature opening of certain areas that will lead to even more infections and even more deaths. |
