It doesn't even require science. It's plainly obvious putting something over airflow reduces airflow.

"Masks" primary usage is stopping spread by breathing OUT. It's primary focus is to keep asymptomatic people from spreading.
And what would stop the spread even more, would be boarding/welding people shut in their houses/apts/cabins/cottages. :D

I'm not anti Mask, I wear them. I am more anti being told what to do, even if it's the right thing to do.

This sums up the entire problem, for the like the 30th time. This wouldn't even be an issue if everyone wasn't selfish and irresponsible.

anyone want to bet that in 65ish days we're going to have another huge spike in cases?
Can I counter this bet that this might just disappear Nov 4th?

Oooh oooh can I also add on 2020 Bingo, I'd like to place my money on Bubonic Plague in October.

WHOA WHOA WHOA??? Is that thing??? I have been saying Bubonic Plague in October for weeks to my GF. Someone else thinks this or did you awesomely generate this somehow????

I mean, define spike? Right now the country is setting new daily records of new cases, as recently as yesterday.
You mean that the backlogs are finally being reported.

If you combine 2 days worth of testing into 1, you are going to get double the results. Basic logic escapes you.

I haven't seen any reports on the entire country being "backlogged," is there you new line of denial?

NO!!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

To be fair, I believe in personal responsibility, so I wear a mask and carry a gun when I am out in public.

There isn't significant evidence that anything less than a n95 doesn't help slow the spread. Wear a mask if leave the house, at the very least, cover your face.
Science isn't settled.

Don't treat this issue like you do with pretty much every issue involving science....

Edit: *** off auto-correct.

https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/04/commentary-masks-all-covid-19-not-based-sound-data

You gotta love how they had to add a statement to the top of this article because of people like Hideka.

Quote:
The authors and CIDRAP have received requests in recent weeks to remove this article from the CIDRAP website. Reasons have included: (1) we don’t truly know that cloth masks (face coverings) are not effective, since the data are so limited, (2) wearing a cloth mask or face covering is better than doing nothing, (3) the article is being used by individuals and groups to support non-mask wearing where mandated and (4) there are now many modeling studies suggesting that cloth masks or face coverings could be effective at flattening the curve and preventing many cases of infection.

the more important thing, is that there was actually a kangaroo war 1, and the humans lost.

Well most unlikely in 2020. 2 Kangaroo wars in a single year??? Assuming they haven't had their first and we didn't know about it.

The first great kangaroo war starts next week. it will end in a ceasefire. the second kangaroo war starts once the kangaroos gain the knowledge of how to wield firearms. the terror of them leaping into combat dualwielding AR15's as the liberals lose their mind over them using 'assault styled' rifles, screaming "THE KANGAROOS HAVE MACHIENE GUNS".

January it turns out it was just a conspiracy between trump, the NRA, and the Fighting United Covert Kangaroos to fight against guncontrol.

Where the data goes changes literally nothing. It's sole purpose is to lower numbers discreetly. It's a mistake made at the ME level, not the CDC or HHS or anyone else for the matter.

But you could actually argue that it could have been the COVID-19 that caused him to crash. I don’t know the conclusion of that one.”

I hear that in California especially the Covid numbers are lower than they should be, because for the past several years they've been listing half of all causes of death as "Donald Trump".

They do have rampant TDS spreading through their community. If only their governor would mandate ear plugs and ban CNN.

Yah well...pretty shure I don't have to make my yearly trip to California to see the GFs family, since you know, the rona... I like her family, they ain't the crazy Californians. I just....feel like I am in an existential crisis whenever I am in the Golden State. Plus you know how they hate anything non left near Berkley....and there I am, easily outnumbered and unarmed. I don't enjoy that part.

the entire mask thing is about compliance - not about saftey. they want to make sure they have iron clad control. call me a tinfoil hat all you want, but this is scary ***.
I think you are partly right. It really depends on who wants the control over others.

I know that Texas has resisted the call for mandatory face masks for a long time, until social pressure pretty much had Governor Abbot give in. But once the spike stops, I guarantee you that within a month that order will be canceled.
Positive it had nothing to do with this?

Quote:
... In Texas and Arizona, morgues are filling up in the hardest-hit areas and officials are bringing in coolers and refrigerated trailers to store bodies.

In South Texas' Hidalgo County, some patients have to wait on a stretcher for 10 hours before being examined due to lack of resources, said Dr. Ivan Melendez, the public health authority.

"We are in dire need, and we are exhausted," he said. "We had four ICU patients. Now we have 211. We had three people on ventilators. Now we have 135."

The county has seen more than 10,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases -- more than 1,200 reported Thursday alone, he said.

Don't be silly. Bubonic Plague is active in many mountainous areas world wide. Including two mountain ranges less than 200 miles from me.

Its going to be swine flu.

My condolences brother. I left a direct suburb of DC, Alexandria.

Oh that's down south. We're in the Ashburn area, it's nice out here but kinda boring for my and the wife (no kids). Area is full of nuclear families, thankfully everything else is a pretty short trip away. Like tonight we're going down to the Fairfax area to eat at some Korean Restaurants.

Saw a spot on the news yesterday that showed vanity scarfs and bandanas literally did nothing to stop even the expelling of spray/germs from someone's mouth.

It's odd because I could have sworn I've seen someone wear those a lot....can't recall the name, oh yeah:

Well....I should clarify that it will be on the news to scare people to stay indoors. Yah I know the plague is here in wildlife, way west of me. XD

Dude was on video saying that line. Cutting everything else off, no bias or anything, just word for word what was said. That they are listing "COVID deaths" from people who not only didn't die from COVID but weren't even infected in the first place. The reasoning being that the death might be related in some bizarre six degree's to Keven Bacon sort of way.

That's like counting homicides as suicides because "if they weren't killed they might of killed themselves".
