Actually interesting question then...

Is there a level limit to entering odyssey, or can my lv 50 whm mule go in with me?

All they need to have is Raise + Tractor which a lv 50 whm/blm has.

That should be all they need right?

I bring 3 stacks of living, 3 stacks of skeleton. If it fails 4x, I get aggro, or it's a coffer: I start using skeletons.
I remove all my gear, equip the HP>MP ear & ring x2 + pixie hairpin+1. That way a single coalition potion cures me to full while I'm still weakened. (my thf doesn't have actual gear)

Is it possible to survive a mimic by putting it on a trust tank + trust whm then run outside of 50'?

edit: i make my own keys, so I generally have several more stacks in my case. rafflesia vines in yorcia while farming merits/rocks make living keys stupid cheap while abyssea la theine's sheep for teeth & all the low level bats in garbage shitadel make skeleton keys worth the time to farm for a profit at 400k/stack, probably profitable at 250k/stack but not really worth the time anymore.

edit2: tired of dying to mimics and having to HP due to still being within 20'. bringing whm.

The way to do this is to have multiple tank and healer trusts. engage, swing once, let trusts build hate, then die elsewhere to other mobs, 20+. You should be able to RR safely after that

wasn't sure since I haven't tried running that far. I always just either end the run by dying next to it or die to mobs after getting a little ways (>20') away.

In addition to what Buukki says, which is the strategy I also use, you should probably avoid opening chests that are within 20' of a crystal to the next floor until last since dying will not remove Mimic hate completely. If you get within 20' again after dying it will aggro you again and use draw in. You can't proceed to the next floor with aggro, so I generally just straight up don't open chests that are that close unless I have opened all the chests on another floor or I am on a floor with the white portal to send me up/down.

And only floor 3 and 1 right? Cause if you lock yourself like this on floor 5 you cant get past the mimic then and you cockblocked yourself.

Good to know.

It's just common sense to never die in a spot or attempt to pick a lock in a spot where you would effectively corner yourself if a mimic popped (dying near undead, in an area where the mimic blocking your escape route, etc). You don't have to pick every lock, just be sensible and you should be fine. And if you have weakness on, you are at a greater risk of losing your run if you can't get out in time before the mimic kills you. But you can pop PD if needed to get to a safe spot to die.

Will a mimic aggro a different party member after it loses hate?

It shouldn't, not unless you act towards it or join it's hate list. Mimics carry indefinite hate towards the keyer, but seems to ignore party members. Not sure if it uses draw in if it hits everybody or just the thief though.

This is from the comments in this thread, since I don't have multiple accounts to corroborate those details.

Ok so new train of thought, just something Im curious about...

Does my level as a thief effect success rate of lock picking?

What happens if a Lv 1 thief goes in and does lock picking?

I was able to confirm today that a level 50 whm was able to join with me for Raise/Tractor stuff.

Said mule however has a lv 1 thief, would a level 1 thief have just the same success rates with lock picking...?

It's probably a correlation to your main job's level, as has always been the case with lock picking. You'd likely get a lot of failures and burn through many keys (and subsequently waste a lot of time) using a mule

Its worth to try

there are some downsides though like you gonna have to spend more cash to bring Prism powder or silent oils as you wont have enough lv to cast them. Also, having other 99 casting them on you gonna make very inaccurate.

As far as i can notice, youre expecting the bonus from movement speed from destrier? Auto reraise is cool but you can easily get reraise from subs anyway, or items. But main concern imo is that is quite hard to get outside mimic range, and having reraise or not is irrelevant with its drawn in feature.

If its that what youre looking for, another solution is having another char lv30- and bring your thf to level sync. Though, you already have mov speed 18 on thf, not sure if worth the trouble.

TL,DR, using destrier beret certainly seems a type of accessories devs didnt expect players to use so they shouldnt have any major specific counter attack to this (unlike cruel joke, that a lot of mobs just resist it in Sheol B).

But destrier dont fix the main concern when keying, so the benefits are questionable.

Well the “main concern” can be easily “fixed” with cheats if youre into that though.

Most likely gonna get you straight banned if SE do notice.

Can someone give me a high level rundown on how to farm izzat/NMs in odyssey? I'll be pretty much on my main with a pocket GEO +trusts. I honestly haven't done anything other than go in and complete the RoEs but I wanted to start doing some farming.

I went in yesterday and killed stuff for pretty much the whole 30minutes and ended with 9 izzat which wasn't enough to even open a box. As for NMs...do you just trade UNM mats to pop said NM? How many mats? I'm sure this info is buried in this thread somewhere just figured I'd ask what a decently efficient way to do this is.

You get 1 izzat every 5 fodder kills, and 10 izzat every time you fully clear the beastmen from one of their nodes.

Each floor has an Ethereal Junction, which you trade Unity materials to in order to pop that NM. The NMs start off taking 1/3/5/10/15/20/25 materials to pop on floors 1/2/3/4/5/6/7, but every 3 NMs you kill reduces the number of materials you need by 1 (so, after killing 6, it takes 1, 1, and 3 to pop on the first three floors). You can also use 10 izzat to pop NMs at junctions that appear after beating a beastmen node.

Izzat can both open chests and pop NM by cosnuming certain amount.

Or this amount consumed can be completely skipped by using outside odyssey items: either UNM mats to trade to the spawn place, or ThF keys to open chests.

While you can completely skip izzat payment to retrieve a chest contemt or fight NMs, there are some penalties on this: chests opened by keys can spawn mimics at a rate of roughly 10~15%, and reduces a lot the chances of spawning a high tier chest (coffer or aurum coffer), chances that are extremely high with izzats.

NMs, though, i didnt see much discussing of pros and cons of popping with or without Izzats. I supose there is some penalty to Not using Izzat and this is one of the odyssey concepts: farming the currency and retrieving rewards.

About izzat farming, you earn 1 izzat when you kill 5 nostos type of mob, or an entire 10 izzats if you can clear halos+all beastmen around there, making this a good choice to tackle: defeat floor 1 halos and beastman for an initial amount of izzat.

Do notice, by doing this (halo + beastman) will reward 1 hide box for each party member when you Hit the exit. Plus, 6k gil per mob killed and 3jp per NM killed, but you need to hit the exit or its all gone.

Finally, do notice izzat costs tend to reduce the more you open a chest, making this a more efficient approach to tackle higher tier chests: open 50 chests till the cost drops to 5 izzat per chest, then with common coffer that appear. Same mechanism can be done with coffer and aurum coffer.

Three more Solo NM Fights. ArkEV is dying more and more often at the start so going to work on some different strategies as evasion gear appears to be the real key here.

Just fought Taniwha again, and it seems I was mistaken on the adds getting a buff after the boss dies. I fixed the Odyssey wiki page.

Anyone else fought the Morbol NM?

I would like to ask if the adds just despawn at some point.

None of the adds despawn unless they lose hate, by people dying or some other shenanigans.

I supose its just possible to earn 1 MM from aurum coffer?

As i already got one, i supose now i can switch to NM killing given i wont be getting anything else from chests/coffers/aurum (obviously not considering hides).

If you assume earning MM works the same as in A, you'll need 16 Aurum chests for an MM level.
