November is the (FF)11th month (and May is the Anniversary of FFXI's release month) which is when they drop the giant campaigns.
Expect it sometime in November. I'll be sure to bump this thread at that point. See you then!

So uh, it's definitely tuesday about to be wednesday (jp) and some free to play still active <huh?> lol
the last couple of times i eventually got kicked but this time i just couldn't log back in from character select screen. i assume if you don't log out, switch characters or lose connection you can still play.
Wasn't that issue also around during last free-to-play back in July?
It's like the old "can't log out" trope, only you can, you just can't get back if you do, not even after exiting to the character select screen. I packed up my alts on Sunday evening, and I'm still logged in now. I also made sure to reset my DSL modem and started up a fresh run of the client (but also because I moved to a different PC that I don't use much).
The things that will finally kick you out are:
- version update (sometimes it happens the next day, sometimes two weeks)
- network connection dying, usually because my DSL modem locks up or auto-updates, but I think once I tripped over the Ethernet cable
- computer dying, one time my video card went nuts after so much uptime on the same app, it was really trippy
- game bug, one time the game got stuck at a black screen when a Besieged ended. I could still do chat commands to say goodbye to shellies, but that was all.
It's early in the month, so the version update should happen very soon. I've still learned to always reset modem and game on the last day anyhow.
FYI they cut off the CP bonus after it ended, so it's much harder to grind job points. But at least you can still sell stuff... someone just a few minutes ago bought 96 alex I had in my bazaar for 4000, when stacks are going for 320K. I had only put it in the bazaar until I could make a full stack of it on the next run.

I'm surprised we don't see more "WE NEED DA 75 CAP LEGACY SERVER." Maybe they gave up! They used to be here every free period
Basically all of my friends that used to play quit long ago. Like entirely. I like it that they have a way to come back, but some have moved to different servers or have different names now and old linkshells lay broken or empty so it is tough to "get the old gang back together".
Also, if they cared about the game enough to keep track of random-*** ten day windows every few months, they probably would have come back before anyway.
SE tried to remedy this with the "Friend Refinder" (or something like that), but it seemed like a clunky system (I think you needed to have a Twitter to use it too maybe???).
I look forward to SE making some grand gesture to get old players back, but I won't hold my breath.
Also complaining about Casuals in your lines probably means your server always has lines anyway.
Oh, and the "make a 75 cap server" topic is here WAY more often than just every free period.

I don't think I've ever seen them do a free-to-play when there are Bonanza marbles available to be purchased. Maybe they think that this way people will be more likely to sub/stay subbed for the bonanza results? Money saving tip: Get your marbles during free to play, write your numbers down somewhere, and wait until drawing to pay if you win. This is actually what I'll do with all of my alts/mules that I never pay to activate.
