Cor can't use moonlight ring. Pdt- ring can be anything offers 5+ to cap.
Oh. You right. I can't believe I never realized it wasn't all jobs.

Side question time:
I do nms with a group that is maybe a little too obsessed with doing sch sc-mb (they do all of zitah and ruaun that style for some reason minus woc). I was looking at extending the common sc with cor, and wanted to know if someone was more familiar with that. I know you can extend distortion to darkness with leaden, and fragmentation to light with last stand (mostly redundant with an ifrit out). But what about say gravitation or induration? I just feel like I should be doing something besides quick draw. hobo said: » Side question time: I do nms with a group that is maybe a little too obsessed with doing sch sc-mb (they do all of zitah and ruaun that style for some reason minus woc). This website has skillchain combos: http://flippantry.com/skillchain/ Using grav/induration just might not be possible with the ws COR has handy from what I saw, but if you find some feel free to share :) Siren.Kyte

There are things that would extend those chains, but the element of the second SC wouldn't match the first.
Are you talking T2s?
If so besides the mentioned you can also do Fusion > Savage. Distortion > Leaden = Darkness Fragmentation > Last Stand = Light Fusion > Savage Blade = Light Siren.Kyte said: » There are things that would extend those chains, but the element of the second SC wouldn't match the first. Yeah, there's a few multi-element combos for Marksmanship: - Induration > Last Stand = Fragmentation, - Scission/Impaction > Hot Shot = Liquefaction, - Impaction/Compression/Scission > Slug Shot = Detonation, - Tranfixion/Scission > Last Stand = Reverberation, - Compression > Leaden Salute = Tranfixion. You could pull it off, but how many situations would you be in where something is weak to multiple elements, and your mages are aware enough to change elements on the fly during MBs? Distortion > Leaden/Wildfire > Wildfire is about as good as it gets for us. Offline

Hmm alright, I will look around, see about getting fancy with random weapon like staff. It would have been nice to extend with marksmanship but really this is just because I get bored as cor burning everything with sc-mb.

Having Leaden close a SCH distortion works just fine even for WoC. You can still get screwed by benediction but that's simply always a risk and especially if you're not all out zerging him.

We swap to melee for woc which is sorta amusing because that is the one that people used to like bursting, while moving towards melee on kirin.
Looks like the only way to extend gravitation is to /blu for burst affinity, which is totally not efficient. And there is nothing that turns induration to darkness or anything else useable. Offline

Are there any reason to use induration anyways? Since induration and distortion are both ice so it should be the same as using distortion no?

For escha specifically no, I assume its a preference of the scholars? I should ask them. Outside of escha though there are situations you don't want to use the helix, like say vagary

definitely talk to whoever is running it and the schs, if your salute set is even halfway decent and does like 20k you can add depending on the mob like 30-50k SC + another SC step to boost burst dmg, really this is a win win win situation and make sure they know that.

I think I would talk to them about a lot more than an SC change lol
Any ideas on how to make preshots better? This is what i've figured out to be best for me currently. *Will never get haverton +1. Sets listed are numbers in gear/flurry not including gifts/traits/etc, (think my math is right, if not my bad!)
No Flurry: 60SS/34RS ItemSet 357638 Flurry 1: 61SS/54RS ItemSet 357639 Flurry 2: 63SS/83RS ItemSet 357640 Anyway for Corsair to solo skillchain darkness closing with leadean salute?
Like evis>leadean etc.? Thanks for the help. Offline

Wouldn't ffxi prioritize lv2 SC first, resulting salute > savage blade = fragmentation instead of distortion?

I think (I could be wrong) we do salute> blu does savage blade> salute>wildfire in dynamis.
Salute to Savage makes Fragmentation. It's actually part of the 4-step I use if you're using Fomalhaut and want light chains. Salute > Savage > Last Stand > Last Stand.
For darkness, Salute > Aeolian/Shining > Salute > Wildfire. Shiva.Eightball said: » I think (I could be wrong) we do salute> blu does savage blade> salute>wildfire in dynamis. Somebody might be sneaking a Chant du Cygne in there w/o you noticing :) Leaden > Savage > CDC > Leaden > WF Shiva.Eightball

ahh i looked now, it was vorpal blade not savage blade.
which cor doesn't get so you could do requiescat. Savage still has scission though doesnt it? so shoudlnt Lead--sav(distort)--lead(dank)---WF(double) still be double dank?
Normally I just do lead-->fast--->lead-->WF EDIT: nvm grav-->frag Offline

Updating all purpose DT- set in the guide
ItemSet 356960 Back: INT/meva/DT-5 Dark ring: PDT-6. Feel free to use anything -6 though, such as Gelatinous Ring +1. MDT still capped with it on. Any other better combo that I'm missing? Maybe change the legs if shell V is from whm and change back to PDT- instead? Edit: also since someone asked about it may as well post....my melee PDT- hybrid seems to cap pdt- with new slots....while maintaining very high MA rate.....Crazy. ItemSet 345206 Feet path D, QA+3 augment on hands. Offline
