Would be good to get an estimate of how many seconds it stays. Roughly 3? could be 2 or 4 accordingly. I think devs are probably using the already existing game cycle of "tics" which is roughly calculated every 3 seconds?
Would need someone with a more in-depth knowledge of FFXI client-server communication I guess.
I agree with Sechs that it seems like maybe it's similar to Sambas' Daze effect. One would think that would have been the easier way to code this, since daze was already a mechanic that existed before Tandem Strike. For DNC the Daze lasts for 10 seconds after last melee hit, including if it hits for 0.
And ty for correcting me on the recent Run Wild testing. All that discussion and I just... ignored that and went with old assumed knowledge :P

its definitely longer than 3~4 seconds... i would have guessed 12 from my hazy memory.
10 seconds like dancer steps makes sense. I don't plan to test it though.

In hindsight it's pretty stupid and very unexpected it doesn't =/

But I can think of several situations where it could be (mildly) useful.
For instance situations where you want to get a boost to your pet's macc to land something (Purulent Ooze?) but you don't want to feed TP to the target to avoid dangerous moves.
Mboze comes to mind for instance.
Then again for Mboze V25 you need a RUN and either a SCH or a RDM anyway.
Without those your Ooze isn't gonna land wether you activate or not Tandem Strike.
And with those, Purulent Ooze is gonna land regardless of Tandem Strike, so...

Its C, or like most the SBII path, but theres not many cases i see bst needing that one. Hiw much you use it varies on what you use bst for

I would stick with Path C Pangu and not worry about the other two options. Path C Pangu alongside a high ranking Agwu's and Ikenga's axe pretty much covers the non rema necessities.

Anybody got a compiled list of T3 and T4 V25 Odyssey NMs that are susceptible to Purulent Ooze?
Kalunga - Works just fine
Mboze - Works but need Rayke + either SC or Stymie Frazzle3
Ngai - ???
Xevioso - ???
Ongo - ???
Arebati - ???
Bumba - Works just fine afaik
Ngai - lands 100% when Aura is up
Xevioso - I've seen land twice with just PUP and BST in about 5 runs - no SC, no Rayke, Frazzle etc
Gigelorum - should easily land with max gear. 1-2 attempts

Kalunga, Xevioso, Arebati, MBoze are susceptible to P.Ooze.
Ngai is susceptible only when Aura is up. (When does this aura happen btw? <75%?)
Apparently, Ongo is not susceptible at all because P.Ooze is water-based.
Having said that, is it beneficial to use Unda runes on Rune Fencer to make P.Ooze more likely to land? (I know Frazzle helps for sure).

Aura is TP move based. For Ngai it's Carcharian Verve.

Sorry guys edited my comment for clarity about Gigelorum. In regards to Ngai.. aura is random, definitely seen a few RP runs where we haven’t fed it enough TP and it hasn’t gone off. I cant say I’ve tried much to land it on Ngai without aura but yeah that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen.

Hello everyone, i haven't posted anything here before but wanted to now cause i been playing more bst in sortie and been able to gain access to Blitz thro the prime, only stage 3 so far but aiming to get higher.
Been having alot of fun in sortie on 8 boss run and wanted to check if other fellow bsts have had any experience in there as bst.
I been running with lizard,slug and crab, all with different reasons. Recently added is the lizard for good fast 4step skillchain for procs on fomors, Blitz>Brain Crush>Tail Blow>Blitz is a good liquefaction>fusion>light 4 step.
Ooze is used on all bosses with uses of corrosize ooze for that atk/def- except for Slugs where I'm using crab for just killer instinct no def- move cause that kills people.
I also been playing with /drk sub instead of the normal /dnc cause my playstyle and testing to squeezes more dmg out of my ws's during the short fights than /dnc would. I been leaning alot more towards using /war /drk for my bst cause of berserk/last resort and ofc fencer. From my experience it feels much better, it's hard otherwise to hit high atk for the high pdl amount bsts have access to.
The Blitz btw has been able to perform better than my usual go to Calamity, hitting depending on boss 55-75k at 2120~tp
How has your experience been ?

All prime weapon skills seem to be front loaded regardless of hit count. WSD and TP bonus iz de wae. PDL swaps for attack cap situations.

Is there any _actual_ use for Feral Howl?
I mean, i think that 1 point would be enough given all the m.accuracy we can stack these days?

Never really have, not much that a single 5 minute recast stun accomplishes

Yeah, I wish.
Feral Howl should have an additional gimmick if it's going to stay at 5-minute recast. I would recommend automatic elemental-alignment for proc'ing (in item-level content only). :)
...or at last a way to replenish charges? (But this would be lame/poor, imo).

Make it unresistable and have a 10 second duration (15 seconds with Jackcoat augment).
Have it only work once in a period of time if you're worried about a bunch of BSTs and CORs locking down an enemy completely with a FH rotation.

terror is the gimmick
when delve deeper and deeper to the hyperspace levels where all is possible and happening right then and there
terror is terror
using howl as a weapon in that fashion
works
if you terrorize something
and it lands
it's done
EDIT/update - for more info:
Feral Howl does not say stun anywhere
if it did you would expect a stun
it notes terror
and says terrorize wears off
leading to believe there is no stun effect involved in feral howl at all
believe terrorize does wear off, a terror enfeeble sticks for the remainder of the fight, even while terrorize does show as wore off
using a weapon skill
facing the mob, as terrorize wears off
has been shown to bolster the ws damage
a curse -hp% has been noticed
terror usually means no control, lost, out of order
which is a weak point to allow bolstered damage
also leads to believe the enemy should deal less damage
the terror lock is the extra
the -def and -atk enfeeble that sticks for the entire fight
+ the bolster WS as soon as terror drops with the multiplier of looking directly face to face(like sam merit)
is the main use
