Bushido - The Way of The Samurai (A Guide) V. 2.0
with 5 zanshin merits instead of meditate, they're about the same as flamma +2, though (using ejin's set posted earlier). I personally use 5 zanshin merits since I don't always use meditate on cooldown.
I did the Zanshin route as well. I find my Zanshin build fun to mess with sometimes.
ejin brought up a good point that with master, merits and 5 in gear, such as ryuo boots, wakido boots, or takaha mantle, you're right at 80 which is divisible by four. If more people use zanshin I can change it and upload that. I just haven't had meditate merits since 90 cap since I don't always ride the recast.

New to SAM (as you're about to discover), so maybe I am having some interpretation issues but:
1. With Hasso on I am interpreting BG stating Zanshin procs at 1/4th the rate. So, typically you are accuracy capped at 95% (?) meaning you have a 5% chance for Zanshin > a 20% chance (80% Zanshin) within that 5% chance to actually proc a Zanshin > a 10/11% chance for OAT within that 5% chance? Although, with 1200JP you have a 10% chance to proc Zanshin when landing a hit which would give you a 10%~ chance to activate OAT 10% of the time on landed hits. Am I misunderstanding how Zanshin works or does that minuscule chance truly beat out Flamma +2 on TP? (Ryuo:1% chance OAT vs. Flamma:6% chance DA) << I am terrible at math so this could be completely off 2. Also, can the JP Hasso Zanshin proc on WS? BG states Hasso Zanshin cannot proc on missed WS hits but does not specifically mention JP version which can land on hits. Thank you for your patience! Well to start with, Zanshin without Hasso will proc only on missed hits and only on rounds where you don't proc DA, TA, QA, OA2-3, etc. So you're looking at like, a 1-2% chance. With Hasso up, you can proc what people have called Zanhasso at 1/4 your normal Zanshin rate + the flat rate, such as from gifts and the Ryuo feet. So at 80% Zanshin, you have 20% + 10% (gifts) + 10-11% (feet). A Zanshin hit also generates more TP than a TA proc. In this case it's (317 * 3) = 951 vs 317 + (123 + 150) * 2.58 = 1021. Which ends up resulting in a higher WS damage due to that. And since Flamma are DA not TA, you get less TP and equal damage compared to a Zanhasso proc.
And Zanshin of any form can't proc on WS. Offline

So, that is what I was misunderstanding. It was not that Hasso dropped Zanshin rate to 1/4th but that it dropped Zanshin rate to 1/4 when a hit lands! Got it! (I should have read the Hasso BG description and not the Zanshin page). I was thinking the JP gifts gave Hasso an additional ability but it's just adding to the ability Hasso already had...
So, instead of my stated 10% chance for OAT. It's more that I have a 40% chance to OAT AND gain more TP on that hit. That is insane..where have I been! haha You can actually push 35~37% Zanshin in gear. AG Amano, NQ/HQ Neck, Kasuga +1 body, AF +3 or Ryuo +1 feet.
I know it has been brought up before, but Kasuga +1 body is definitely an underrated piece! It depends on what is available to you or your budget. Edit: The phrase "still holds up" works better then "underrated piece" lol. It isn't worth it to use Kaiten for aftermath
but yes, domaru +1 is a very solid piece if you're not in need of m.eva or the additional accuracy provided by ken. pieces. for example, this puts you at 97% with merits and is a very competitive set. Comparing to Ejin's set again, but with ryuo feet, and under the conditions mentioned in his set capped acc/atk and SAM roll with no further buffs besides escha zone buffs (x1 not x2): ItemSet 354849 Code Simulated Average: masamune 8727.22 (WS : 30574.83 ) AA Percent: 0.17 WS Percent: 0.83 Three Minute Sims.: masamune 8903.45 (WS : 30223.86 ) 8367.13 (WS : 29200.45 ) 8295.03 (WS : 29301.97 ) 9631.85 (WS : 32136.81 ) 8584.09 (WS : 29791.52 ) 8368.0 (WS : 28659.23 ) 8329.62 (WS : 28566.8 ) 8859.04 (WS : 30002.23 ) 9522.12 (WS : 31745.58 ) 9058.14 (WS : 30821.53 ) VS ItemSet 266064 Code Simulated Average: masamune 8209.67 (WS : 28823.59 ) AA Percent: 0.23 WS Percent: 0.77 Three Minute Sims.: masamune 8640.24 (WS : 29391.36 ) 8304.69 (WS : 28105.28 ) 8622.01 (WS : 29243.23 ) 7802.53 (WS : 29032.92 ) 8403.78 (WS : 28506.55 ) 8668.14 (WS : 29695.25 ) 8641.28 (WS : 30046.55 ) 8890.99 (WS : 30737.79 ) 8616.04 (WS : 30268.38 ) 8695.58 (WS : 30978.16 ) I've also made my drive easier to navigate and everything you need is now in one folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1R1stlFiZUku-iPeV5FgXrqQ-MYEnO-u- And Doji falls quite a bit behind when using the example Zanshin/STP focused set. I added a print out to fudo so it prints every WS's TP (including TP Bonus) and this is just one three minute run for Masamune:
Code 3000 2084 3000 2576 1352 1706 1328 2576 1547 1328 2576 2576 2576 2648 2084 1328 2576 2600 3000 2084 2084 1706 2576 2576 1418 1328 2278 1328 1328 2576 2954 2576 3000 1304 2648 2576 2576 2198 2600 2576 1328 1328 1487 2576 Average is about 2170. The only form of TP Bonus for Masa is Moonshade, too. So Doji's gets wasted a good amount of the time, especially with Crystal Blessing on. And since this is a three minute example, the only 3K where I actively wanted 3K TP was the first one, the rest are results of overflow TP. And a Doji three minute example: Code 3000 1902 1902 3000 1902 3000 2305 3000 2305 2305 1984 2305 2305 1902 2651 2708 1927 2305 2854 3000 2774 3000 2335 2936 3000 3000 3000 2854 3000 1984 2305 3000 3000 2708 3000 3000 3000 1934 1902 2708 1902 2305 Average of about 2550, but an awful lot of 3K Fudos. The only form of TP Bonus used was Moonshade and the TP Bonus on the weapon itself. No Warcry or C. Blessing for either weapon, so a large portion of Doji's TP Bonus gets wasted with the more STP/Zanshin focused set. Asura.Xenomorph

Is Sam roll necessary to pull the Zanshin set ahead of DA/TA/QA sets?
Well, Ejin's sets were designed around having SAM's roll, so I used it as well when comparing. If I just remove SAM roll but keep the other variables the same, it still comes out ahead. Worth noting this is accounting for 5 Zanshin merits in place of Meditate ones. Of course the Ken. items have much better m.eva and accuracy as well, so it should be taken into consideration depending on your situation as far as buffs and annoying TP moves go.

Thank you for checking, and you're right about those other considerations :) Really appreciate your work

This is super cool information. Thank you!
Indeed it is. Awesome findings Austar and Ejin for your sets..

Yes, I see it now! :)
Edit: folder is empty though. https://github.com/CaseyMakes/Simulations
Try this. No idea why google suddenly decided to block it. Looks good, all 5 files are there. Thanks again!
Recently mastered SAM in need of some tips for gear. I've fallen out of the saddle in terms of how much STP I need to shoot for with a 437 GKT, so I've just stuck to stacking DA atm. How much STP should I have on TP, assuming no SAM's roll?
Currently using: ItemSet 354745 (Smert with DA atm. Total STP from gear without AM: +52) I see many people with Moon Nodowa; would NQ be an improvement over Mala in low acc situations? ItemSet 355139 (I'm picking up Valor Mask soon, so there's that. Hands with WSD+5, feet with WSD+4, Smert with WSD+10) Things I know I gotta pick up: Cessance, Omen rings (Regal+Niqmaddu), AF+3 legs. I'm open to suggestion as to what alternatives I have for Valor body. That won't happen soon (Domain Invasion campaign, Buddha plz). Need 56 STP for a 4-hit.
Actually, it's 57 needed for 450 and that's assuming Master (so all the stp gifts)
for ws body you can use flam +2 or nzingha until valor.
moon neck is likely an improvement acc capped or not AF +2/3 would also work until a decent WSD Valorous body. I assume since a V mail is currently out of reach, a Nzingha will be too.
The AF body can also be used in DT/High ACC sets. The Flamma works well because you can swap that Ifrit's ring out for the Flamma ring. I would probably switch that despair out for Flamma too. Get that set bonus going! Taking Valorous, Nzingha, and HQ Abjurations off the list:
Flamma Korazin +2 should be your best option if you're also using ring for set bonus. If no set bonus, Flamma+2 is still pretty good (and should still be your best choice if capping attack), though it probably loses to Rao B in uncapped attack situations. AF+3 might have a place in mega acc sets, but if acc isn't a concern it falls behind (and it's not like Flamma is a slouch in the acc department either). AF+3 should be roughly a sidegrade to Rao when attack is capped, and behind Rao if attack is uncapped. Honestly, if you're just using them a a stopgap, any of those choices is decent enough to hold you over, and Flamma +2 is easy enough to obtain that it's probably the way to go. If you're still working on Abd. Fibers, I wouldn't go out of my way to get something new - just use any of the above (or Flamma+1 or Hiza+2) until then as a decent temporary solution. Fenrir.Ramzus said: » Actually, it's 57 needed for 450 and that's assuming Master (so all the stp gifts) Was basing it off his Amano in his set. I have 56 STP in my set with Amano and I'm 250/hit. Yeah, but you're not getting 250 tp from a WS unless you also WS in 56 stp.
Ramuh.Austar said: » for ws body you can use flam +2 or nzingha until valor. moon neck is likely an improvement acc capped or not Gotcha. Is it purely the 2% Hassozanshin and my need for STP that justifies Moon Nodowa over Mala? Bismarck.Gippali said: » AF +2/3 would also work until a decent WSD Valorous body.
