Power Rangers: A Guide to Pewing
That's like saying you might as well use double shot when decoy shot is down if you don't have a relic/ride Coronachs aftermath full time.

Ok I need some help pewing.
Facts: Have Annihilator Currently 4-hitting in TP set Could 3-hit if I wanted to I don't use spellcast or autora I don't ws enough in parses compared to others, thus putting my overall dps down a lot I don't have a pre-shot or mid-shot set. My TP-set is a hybrid of RACC and Snapshot. If I make a pre-shot and mid-shot set, how do I macro this effectively? Or are these sets only usable with spellcast? Offline

Would this work for a macro?
/autoexec "RNG/Snapshot.txt" /ra <t> /autoexec "RNG/TP.txt" Should I have /wait 1 in there anywhere? I think you'd get more use out of putting them into 2 separate macros:
Macro 1 : Equip Snapshot Gear /ra <t> Macro 2 : Equip Mid-Shot gear I use gearswap and have obviously condensed this down into just /shoot <t> in one macro and nothing else, but having 2 macros is a nice safety net against things like keyboard spamming. Offline

Does that mean have a 3rd shoot macro that calls Macro #1 then Macro #2?
For the love of your sanity go with the 3rd macro.
/equip snapshotgear /shoot <t> /wait 1 /equip shootinggear There are situations, such as being under overkill or a strong Rapid Shot proc that can cause RNG to connect a shot in less than 1 second.
As said before having it in one macro also doesn't allow for button spamming, if you have the habit of doing that and adding a /wait 1 only makes that problem worse. And I meant to make 2 macros and press them in order. CTRL 1 or whatever, see gun start to get drawn > hit CTRL 2. It's by far the safest way to do it without addon help. If pressing 2 buttons is too straining then make a gearswap or just use AutoRA. Not sure how well the latter works compared to a RNG micro-ing based on frames. You should have a separate macro and gearset for overkill. As far as rapid shot procs go, I'd rather hit them in my snapshot set then pull my hair out constantly hitting two macros every time I shoot.

What are some good alternatives if I don't have an Ocachi Gorget or Lutian Cape yet?

I 100% agree with this method. Having a /wait 1 in your macro can ruin your day if you're lagging or mistime your shots. Also doing it this way easily allows you to switch to any mid-shot TP set you want after hitting your snapshot macro. If hitting two macros every time you shoot is really that hard, then do whatever you want! Me personally I've been hitting two macros since preshot sets became a thing. *edit* I now suffer from arthritis, carpal tunnel and two broken fingers... But I play a mean RNG. You don't spam it. You learn when you can shoot again based on the animation of putting your gun away and then hit the macro to start the next shot. You can usually start your next shot long before the weapon is completely put away. Just practice and learn the timing. I've been using Nefarious Collar because the tree sucks and I've been too lazy to take a mule through all of the WKR to get it from the quest. Moondoe Mantle is a Lutian Cape with 6 less attack and accuracy. Libeccio mantle is a better alternative over Moondoe Mantle. But if you're trying to still achieve one of the hit builds people are using now, a solid alternative would be Sylvan Chlamys + Ej/Iqabi necklace.
Not if you're trying to maximize -enmity.
The dude has Annihilator, I'm sure he'll be fine without -5 enmity.
Asura.Hoshiku said: » For the love of your sanity go with the 3rd macro. /equip snapshotgear /shoot <t> /wait 1 /equip shootinggear This works for SAM, but it doesn't work well for RNG because of rapid shot. I had thoroughly tested this and the /wait 1 never works with rapid shot. Asura.Hotsoups said: » The dude has Annihilator, I'm sure he'll be fine without -5 enmity. I didn't look to see what he has, he just asked for replacements for that slot. I try to keep as much -enmity in my set as possible, but I'm using Yoichinoyumi. Anyone mind updating SETS on 1st page ? They are outdated :(
Still a good Guide tho, but need to know what new armor I should be using for my SET :X Thanks in Advance. Bismarck.Kuroganashi said: » Anyone mind updating SETS on 1st page ? Rapid Shot wouldn't cause a delay, it would just have a chance of causing you to shoot in your Snapshot gear because /wait 1 might be too long if Rapid Shot procs. Offline

Oh...makes sense then. Thanks!
Another question: Snapshot body, I see people using Sylvan Caban +2, however isn't Furia/Ebur Jerkin a better option? I do not see their Snapshot+ values listed however I would think they beat out most bodies purely by having some snapshot, no? But..... my instincts are telling me that if you have 0 delay between /equip preshot and /ra then your preshot gear will be ineffective. Am I wrong in thinking that simultaneously starting your shot and equipping your preshot gear will result in the wrong gear affecting your preshot? I'm currently doing the 2 macro method with macro 1 /equip preshot macro 2 /ra /wait 1 /equip midshot of course i'll get porked on rapid shot occasionaly, but that's what i get for playing on console. Sadly this also limits me to changing only 4 pieces of gear from preshot to midshot. Offline

The pre-shot loading of your snapshot gear loads in milliseconds, way faster than your /ra
so a 6 line macro with
/ra /equip preshot piece /equip preshot piece /equip preshot piece /equip preshot piece /equip preshot piece will work as intended? this would mean i could manage a 5th piece to swap between pre and midshot.... so glad i said something Offline

You need to call preshot before your /ra, pretty sure that's what everyone does

I do not see their Snapshot+ values listed however I would think they beat out most bodies purely by having some snapshot, no? From what I can tell on the Sylvan Caban +2, the main drawing points I've seen are the +20 RACC (+29 if you calculate it's +AGI and +9 RATK from +STR), and not to mention the -9 Enmity all warped up into one sweet little package. Not sure if any of the Delve augment body's would match the RACC, but pretty sure none of them could match the -enmity. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on either of these, just my opinion. On the Snapshot side of the question, has there been a cap found for it? I know if functions like Haste for RA, so does it follow the same rules, such as capping @ 25% or does it go beyond that? Addendum: To answer the core question: Perhaps in instance of a Rapid Shot proc? (Wrote all that out and totally forgot the core of the question... Tired and forums do not blend well. ^.^;; ) |
