Under R3G1STRY's XML, trying to turn any of the toggles on or engaging in any combat would cause "SpellCast: Did not find set: $DD in Group: Normal" to pop up. I understand the basics of Spellcast and XML, but I'm confused as hell about these variables. I know I'm probably overlooking something stupid, does anyone know what that could be?

Did you download the include too?

It's what sets all of those variables.

I do have the include, and the XML does load properly.

Registry_Include is in my Spellcast folder.

My only guess from what I see is that the variables aren't being set correctly for whatever reason. If you type $DD in game it should say TPGreatAxe or TPGreatSword or something along those lines. If it doesn't then you either haven't performed any actions yet for those variables to be set (engaging should work) or they aren't being set properly.

Anyway, change lines 154 to 165 (you may have to look at mine for reference if you changed anything above that) to:
Code xml
<!-- Do NOT change the rest of these variables -->
<var name="DD">TPGreatAxe</var>
<var name="Melee">TPGreatAxe</var>
<var name="Armor">None</var>
<var name="Twilight">None</var>
<var name="WARTPHands">Ravager's Muffler's +2</var>
<var name="WARTPNeck">Rancor Collar</var>
<var name="Accuracy">0</var>
<var name="AutoExecRan">0</var>
<var name="Rancor">1</var>
<var name="MacroBook"></var>
<var name="RavMuffs">Ravager's Mufflers +2</var>

It'll set the variables to start with so you don't get that error, but if they don't get changed to anything else you may have to pastebin what you have and I can look at it.

This is what I have currently.
Code
<!-- Do NOT change the rest of these variables -->
		<var name="DD"></var>
		<var name="Melee"></var>
		<var name="Armor">None</var>
		<var name="Twilight">None</var>
		<var name="WARTPHands"></var>
		<var name="WARTPNeck"></var>
		<var name="Accuracy">0</var>
		<var name="AutoExecRan">0</var>
		<var name="Rancor">1</var>
		<var name="MacroBook"></var>
		<var name="RavMuffs">Ravager's Mufflers +2</var>

Guessing I need to fill those in, huh? I honestly don't get variables at all in spellcast.

You shouldn't need to, but it's probably not setting them for whatever reason.

Try setting them to what I just posted, if that doesn't work then pastebin what you have and I'll take a look at it.

First I'd like to say that this guide is absolutely top notch and well done.

Playing with Rag 6hits, I have this one winning out. Figured I'd post it since it edges out the MAX on the first page.

Thanks. Updated the WS set and the description under Rag TP.

About Strigoi: General rule for all of my sets is to assume anything with Strigoi can be swapped with Pyrosoul if you don't need the attack. I just prefer to use it to avoid gear swap errors I've run into in the past from more than 1 item with the same name.

Fodder to Mid I have your set winning.

Mid to High I have my set winning.

While I highly doubt anyone would buff like that for Fodder to Mid, it could be worth noting.

I looked more into it, changing white T into ravager's and one pyrosoul ring into rajas ring on Ig-alima made my set better than your by less than 1 dps, but switching from portus to rancor collar made your better by about 2-3 dps.

So seems like your set is better when rancor collar is applicable and crit rate matters, while mine is better when it doesn't.

The only event I do with those kind of buff atm are ADL farm/kill and Legion.

As far as pants go, is there any reason to get Heca Subligar +1 anymore? What situations is it good in? I noticed Byakkos beat it versus Qilin on the spreadsheet and anything that needs Attack/Accuracy it would be better using pants more suited for that.

I've been playing with Ares' set bonus in spreadsheets... If it turns out to be 9 DA for 4/5 pieces I have this set

ahead of this set

by a decent amount (~50-90 DPS) on pretty much everything that doesn't need accuracy as long as Embrava's up. When Embrava's down it looks like the Valk set comes out something like .06 DPS ahead of the Ares' set.

Can someone confirm that? I feel like I'm screwing something up.

edit: Looking about the same for Ragnarok Embrava sets.

Restraint bonus. I was looking for optimal situations for the Valk set and it kept losing.

I have this set winning when restraint up and no regain.(assuming 3%da from set and 3%da / 6stp on armada).

edit: only checked on target up to Qilin.

and this is even tho your not 6 hitting because you don't have enough STP in that set to maintain a 6 hit?

I am not a maths whizz I can not do the math behind these kind of results... but I like to try and understand how and why etc etc...

Is that based on the assumption tho you dont whiff both your ukon hits to do this?

It's assume you're not missing on ws or have one DA proc. If missing on ws is an issue for you, ravager's earring => kokou earring allow for 1 miss on ws.

But with 95% accuracy / 22%da(more if fighter's roll) you can assume your ws will land at least 2 hit.

thats fine just experience tells me that even with good acc you cant account for the rediclous oh "i have just had 1tp return on my ukkos, thanks random whiffing"

If it works though with that 1 tp return which does happpen then that clarifies it for me thank you.

Xhit always breaks if you miss the first hit of your ws.

If you have just 1 tp return on your ukkos, then you would have to 7 hit either way regardless if you have a true 6 hit build or not. It is really the chance of you missing the second hit and DA didn't proc on both of your hits or DA proc also misses. That's a very rare situation.

Looks like that's beating pretty much everything else (unless you need accuracy, then the standard Armada set was winning) regardless of Embrava. In Legion can throw on Belatz in place of Ravager's and Ambuscade in place of Blitz (can also use NQ Phos in Legion).

Down goes Valk plate! (except for Upheaval, I guess)

edit: errrrr... typed if you don't need accuracy, meant unless you do need accuracy. >_>

edit 2: I have class soon so I don't have the time to check Ragnarok sets, but I'm curious if that'll beat the current set if you have regain (I'm pretty sure the 6-hit set would do better without regain).

True and I understand the situation now, however I don't think il agree entirely on the DA proc on ws situation dont forget your not WS in this gear your only tping in it.

If i understand correct war DA trait is 12% base? (BGwiki info lvl 96) +5% from merits. 15% xi roll (which in itself could be 10% if they stick to lucky) > 27% then in my ws set i use af3 head so 31% then brutal 36% total. I can't bring myself to "assume" im going to DA almost everytime with an ukkos ws. Granted the rate will be decent (essentially 1 in 3) I admit, but I don't think its enough and not enough in my mind to say it isnt "rare".

So from a personal point of view id be sticking with Ccls suggestion of kokou earring > ravagers to ensure id always 6 hit as long as I dont miss my first ukko hit.

Or am I missing something here and looking at this wrong?

Just trying to understand everything not trying to be an arse.

In your weaponskill set you probably have:

3% Duplus
5% Brutal
4% AF3+2 Head

+

15% Trait + Merits
24% 11 Fighter's

51% total DA.

It's very unlikely that you'll miss that second hit and not double attack. Can disregard missing the first hit because your x-hit'll be broken anyway if it misses.
