FWIW - I prefer tagging everything in a TH set vs. setting unique blu spells that give TH trait.
I'll see if I can find a way to fit in TH advice, if I remember. As for the ASets thing, that's a good idea, but I don't use it myself so itll be community driven.
Rounding, is your set exactly 100, you need 102
Also possible your set may have spelling errors or improperly defined settings within luas. Just going on the one line of "it's not working" leaves many things open. Offline

If you don't use addons, then you probably are just getting hit with the precast gear on.
Asura.Bluewarrior said: » Siren.Kyte said: » If you don't use addons, then you probably are just getting hit with the precast gear on. I know what you mean and that was a problem for me until I figured out you have to wait a couple seconds before you switch to a different set or it doesn't change.. in other words say I hit the macro for equipset 45 with the echo so it lets me know it is equipped.. when I do that and then immediately go for the next equipset macro with echo it lets me know in the chat log error unless I wait out the couple of seconds so there is some kind of delay it seems. So have been making sure to give the equipset switch a couple seconds for awhile now and I have never had a problem until recently. The log clearly showed that the sird set was equipped with no error. Thinking it might have been something with lag but not so sure. I am assuming there is no delay with the addon? Offline

I've published part 1 of the revision. It includes a few general formatting adjustments as well as changes and additions to the skillchain, ability, spell, trait, and role sections.
Keep in mind that most of these changes are intended for new/returning and midrange players. Most of it is not going to be useful or enlightening for established BLUs. The purpose of most of these revisions is to help new players to the job get into it and learn how to play it properly. Make sure new DD know they don't need to wait a full minute to use Diffusion > MG. UL/UW is completely independent of Blue Magic reset delay.
I just restarted and am looking to get my 2014 Blu more servicable, right now I'm using Nibiru Blades and really have no ability to make a RMEA for Blu, is Naegling going to be something worth getting in that case? I've heard mixed things about using that Sword on Blu. Maybe worth mentioning I don't have a linkshell or anything so I won't be doing big events with lots of Attack buffs.

Where have you heard mixed things? Naegling's great and worth having around even with MEAs.

CDC is nice but the gear to really make it stand out is really only useful for CDC. Where as gearing for Savage Blade means your Expaicion set will be ready when you make a Tizona. CDC has its place but really only with REMAs (Almace\Zantetsuken or Tiz\Almace) The Naegling\Kaja Sword is a REMA level weapon, especially when you pair it with a Thibron (1k TP bonus sword). Some take issue with the ACC of your offhand while using a Thibron but even with ACC issues for your offhand, Thibron is more than likely going to be a DPS gain. Th ACC issues go away eventually, properly buffed I offhand Thib for Dyna-D W3. Offline

From a progression standpoint, I would suggest moving the Iris and the Colada to the beginners section. Both are obtainable as a fresh 99 in 117 sparks gear, solo, through DI. You can also purchase the materials for augmenting them through DI. I readily recommend fresh 99 players to do DI and buy the 200/800 point weapons as their first DI buys. These weapons are significant upgrades and are easier to obtain than most other options on the list. Getting these weapons first will save a lot of time and effort initially.
I will go ahead and make a note about DI points for both of those weapons. It's been a while since I've bothered with DI, so I forgot just how much it offers.
I don't think I'll be moving the weapons from their current placement, though. I want that to reflect their overall standing among our options. When we get the general progression guide ironed out, I'll make sure to mention good shortcuts for acquiring gear. If new methods of acquisition make mid-tier options like Colada easily available to everyone regardless of resources, then it starts to completely invalidate weapons that are weaker and used to be noticeably easier to get, but are now no longer.
For example, with DI, Colada is now both obtainable solo by anyone with any Ilvl weapon at all and is better than any of the weapons in the Intermediate category (barring the Nibiru Cudgel, which serves a different niche), so I feel there's not really much reason to mention most of them anymore since it's better to skip straight to Colada. Honestly, I think the lower half of the weapon list is too large and unfocused as it is (making it more confusing than it should be for new players), so I actually think it'd be best to get rid of the Beginner and Intermediate categories entirely (other than Nibiru Cudgel) and direct people to go straight from weapons in the Brand New tier straight to Colada. A Niche category could be created for things like Iris's Blue Magic Skill if you wanted to keep them in the guide. If that's how people would prefer to handle things, then I'll make alterations.
EDIT: Weapon list has been pruned to better reflect worthwhile options. This question may have been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it with some moderate digging.
With Chain Affinity / Burst Affinity augmenting gear; Empy Head/Feet, AF Feet/Legs, when it is necessary to equip these to gain the benefit? Must they be equipped pre-JA activation? Or simply in the spell midcast? Or both? It's simple enough to make a precast for the JA, but if its both I'm not sure how I'd adjust my lua to detect the buff is active and overwrite my midcast set w/ the JA augmenting piece. I know its super marginal but if anyone can point me to the correct answer I'd appreciate it. |
