garbage basically, but that's nothing new seeing how i argued over that there hero's galea for a -magic set during air time, and all he could answer me with was "who cares" after showing me he still took 13 damage per hit in the air, not that it hits others much harder now since even at 75 it was pretty laughable (different story on the ground though)

in short, playing on ps2 in 2011 is bad, let alone still playing on it in general

this pretty much, it's not so much of a mage as much as an ability based caster, much like dnc, it's heavily oriented around its job abilities. Also much like rdm its a hybrid, it can cure well, granted it's missing out on alot of the cure potency that your standard whm can wear such as roundel earring, and it has great nuking capabilities that blm does but alas sch is also missing out on some great nuking gear such as eradico mitts. but for them to moderately excel at either of these spectrum's you have to "strategically" make use of your strategems appropriately, IE: using alacrity, parsimony, and ebullience all in one nuke is not going to get you far being that you just used 3 out of your 5 strategems in a matter of 5 seconds. Sch also has great mp reservoir consumption being that they can make their mp last a considerably long time, where neither whm and blm can actively excel at that very well and only rdm can keep up, with Refresh 2, but if you plan accordingly and get the right gear for it, 500 mp sublimations will handle you quite well. on the subject of helix/weather; your weather spells is not only for just your mages ie: increasing their magic accuracy and boost in dmg if they nuke in the right element that they are under the right weather (if that makes any sense), it also is used for stat enhancements if you have merited stormsurge: ie: giving firestorm to sams for the str boost, thunderstorm to your thf for the dex boost, rainstorm to your whm for the mnd boost. Helix is probably one of the major things that make sch what it is, its currently the most powerful DoT (damage over time) spell in the game, with the exception of the new 2 hr based dark arts spell which sch is also getting. before modus veritus was nerfed, it was possible to use stacked helix/modus veritus on major NMs like absolute virtue, where a party of sch would just use modus veritus on an existing helix that a sch landed on him, in the end making your 200-300 dmg a tic DoT (at the time) into a 16k dmg a tic DoT, but alas modus was nerfed extremely making it virtually useless.

That really depends. I've been able to outnuke well geared BLMs before, and with Bliz 5 incoming I'm betting on being able to put BLMs to shame like SCHs used to at 75.

what the ***did you just say? i dont know why people are still dragging this out, good v good, sch wins on single target, but blm destroys it in aoe. sch has better mp control, blm has better hate control, ***is situational.

I'm a proud lvl90 SCH and yes, it can be macro hell lol I originally lvled sch to be the sub for my SMN back in the lv75 days but i ended up loving it as it was the best of both worlds imo so I took it all the way. I could heal a party and never need to rest even at lvl37 when doing bird parties...i watched a "smn burned" sch try to heal party but couldnt handle the power and kept resting (haha) and before the atma things that have been brought in during my 10month absence, I managed to out damage a BLM in abyssea and i see that sch have also gained Stoneskin in their own right now which is good when using Sublimation and want to heal also.

So I hold my lv90 SCH books high and heal/nuke with pride!
