Quote: The wraparound jacket band on Shō Hinata's Naruto Konoha Shinden Yukemuri Ninpō-chō novel volume is announcing on Thursday that a television anime adaptation of three Naruto Hiden/Shinden (Hidden Story/True Story) epilogue stories will air this coming winter. The television anime will adapt Takashi Yano's Shikamaru Hiden (Shikamaru's Story, pictured right), Hinata's Konoha Hiden (Konoha's [Hidden] Story, pictured below left), and Shin Towasa's Sasuke Shinden (Sasuke's Story, pictured below right). Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will reveal more information. Since Masashi Kishimoto ended the main Naruto ninja manga in November 2014, Shueisha has published at least 10 novel volumes based on the franchise. There are six volumes in the Hiden (Hidden Story) series so far, and each volume revolves around a different character or characters (Kakashi, Shikamaru, Gaara, Sakura, the Akatsuki organization, and other ninja in Konoha). Viz Media has published Naruto: Kakashi's Story, Naruto: Shikamaru's Story, and Naruto: Sakura's Story. The Shinden novel series contains three volumes so far. The two Itachi Shinden volumes shipped last year and inspired this year's arc of the Naruto Shippūden television anime series. Shueisha published Sasuke Shinden volume last year, and Viz plans to publish it as Naruto: Sasuke's Story - Sunrise next spring. Shueisha also published the Naruto: Dojunjō Ninden (Naruto: The Tale of the Utterly Purehearted Shinobi) volume last August. ohgodpleaseno
Quote: American independent production company Skydance Television announced on Tuesday that it has acquired the global live-action television rights for the Sword Art Online (SAO) franchise from Kadokawa. The company plans to fast-track the launch of a live-action television series. Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Terminator Genisys) is writing the script and executive producing along with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross of Skydance. Kalogridis, who also penned drafts for the live-action Alita: Battle Angel and Ghost in the Shell films, mentioned that she has "for years... been inspired by the inventive and masterful storytelling of the SAO franchise." Skydance Interactive is also planning a Sword Art Online virtual reality experience after the television series. Skydance Media CEO Ellison said the company is planning "a full-scale and wide-ranging set of live action franchise extensions across our business verticals." From what I hear of SOA, which I originally thought was that comic from a sword site I used to visit, it starts out decent but slightly corny and goes full-harem. Not that I mind a harem anime but that's a pretty dramatic shift.
Yeah, it doesn't stay interesting because it turns into "ASUNAAAA!" "KIRITO-KUUUN!" instead of being about the deadly game.
Other novels/mangas/animes have done a better job of it First day is in the record books. I'm feeling very... bleh about this year.

They can't adapt SAO without butchering the story because it won't work with an American TV audience And it would likely be super CGI with all the sword skills and monsters Anna Ruthven said: » You had one job: To follow the damn Train. I had a BLU in an Ambscade party *** at me because I didn't have Mighty Guard. ....except I was WSing 5 times more than he did..... And he didn't have Mighty Guard either...or Diffusion unlocked.... It also has a story that would work for an American audience. SAO turns into a harem series with a computer kid (a harem that includes his cousin-that-was-raised-as-his-sister) It's different. It's also a TV series that normal people will watch, not just anime fans. It has to work for the majority of viewers and that can only be done by changing the story quite a bit. Unless you just meant the shouting part of my post Bismarck.Dracondria said: » SAO turns into a harem series with a computer kid (a harem that includes his cousin-that-was-raised-as-his-sister) Harem animes are terrible. :( No exceptions.

Animes without end points live past their prime, and past their creator's actual state of mind for the original creation. I'm looking at you, Dragonball, Bleach, Naruto, etc. Watching this Punisher/Black Widow anime thing on Netflix and a bunch of Avengers show up and I have no idea who the blonde lady is lol
Oh "Captain Marvel" Asura.Kingnobody said: » because I didn't have Mighty Guard I play like once a year and I have Mighty Guard Cmon, man DO I see AKIRA Posts!? |
