TP/WS Advice
Shameless bump. (New page was created, look at the end of page 4)
if you cap delay reduction, dw just lowers your tp/hit. so in high haste situations you wouldn't be using af1 body.
Ah thank you. So Ninja gets an innate 35%, add on the 25% from hitting the haste cap and you're already at 60%. Ninja body + suppo leads to 70%. Cap it off with the haste spell and you're actually over the cap to 85%. So if you have haste casted on you, full empyrean is actually better?
Haste and Dual Wield isn't the same thing.

Haste and Dual wield works the same way, but they'r separate when you calculate total delay. Sorry about that - I also missed the emp +2 head. So: 35% innate + 15% from gear (body, head, suppa) = 50%. 25% haste + 15% spell = 40% (I ALWAYS have a white mage with me). (1-.5)*(1-.4)= .3 * base delay. Therefore, I am NOT hitting the delay reduction cap and have quite a bit more to add. Marches would bring your haste value to 62% which would make delay reduction .81 and sneak you over by just a little bit?

Thank you very much for getting the mechanics straightened out, but how about personal opinions (or hard data) when comparing full empyrean vs. .4% haste to hit the cap and AF body.
I was freaking out there for a bit that what I thought was the optimal build was hitting a *** cap. Lakshmi.Mabrook said: If you always have a WHM and/or have haste, the TP set you should be aiming for would along the lines of this: 35% DW + 10% in gear = 45% 25% haste in gear + 15% spell = 35% 45 + 35 = 80% maximum weapon reduction. D: Lakshmi.Mabrook said: If you always have a WHM and/or have haste, the TP set you should be aiming for would along the lines of this: 35% DW + 10% in gear = 45% 25% haste in gear + 15% spell = 35% 45 + 35 = 80% maximum weapon reduction. Not only can you not add. 35 + 10 + 25 + 15 = 85 But also you are using a grossly incorrect formula. Base Delay before modifications = 100% x .55 from dual wield = 55% 55% x .60 from haste = 33% delay. Still 13% more delay can be reduced. If you don't understand where the 55 and 60 come from the 55 comes from the haste 100- 45 = 55 and the 60 is 100 - 40 = 60. The mechanics were previously posted on this very page, surely you guys aren't falling for Mabrook's two-bit trolling.
Eh I don't like my formula it confuses me even I like that other one.
(1-.Y)*(1-.Z)= New Delay Where Y = Dual wield and Z = haste. Could someone here please link me to a website, a forum post, or something that fully explains the relationship between: Dual wield, haste, weapon delay, tp per swing. Even though I'm nowhere near the weapon delay cap, I'm starting to think that since I only get 3% from my AF body, wearing full empyrean might in fact be better. I'd wear a tiercel so I'd hit 25% (not 25.4%).
Plus, getting close to a straight up 4% per swing is really *** annoying.

Couple new additions in equipment for Blade:Hi as Nin/Dnc Solo.
Total Delay = 390 - (50% DW) = 195 Delay 195 - (25% Gear Haste Cap) = ~ 146 Delay 146 - (5% Haste Samba /Dnc) = 138 Delay Total Haste = 80% = The Game Limit After DW Native TP gain per hit = 5.3% Per each weapon (10.6% Per Melee Round) STP = 16 (Bringing each round to 12.3%) Any other thoughts on newer gear option available for Nin? That's definitely not capped total delay reduction.
dual wield and haste dont just add up, they are linked by multiplication, to calculate your remaining delay, use this:
%remaining delay = (1-dw) x (1-haste) in your case, that would be (1-0.5) x (1-0.3) = 0.35 whereas the cap is 0.2 remaining delay ( equals 80% reduction). with 50% DW you would need 60% haste to cap out attack speed. Hey quick question and i didnt want to start a new topic, i just started to lvl nin past being a sub what WS is the best to use and should i quest blade:ku or just use blade:jin which it seems everyone is using on this?

Then later once it's an available option Blade: Hi Ku sucks, you'd only unlock it for blue !! procs, though it admittedly looks kinda cool Thanks.
Would anyone mind giving some examples where AF3 body would beat AF body? Other than the obvious surpassing delay reduction cap of course.

Nothing really new here, but Shinobi Ring hasn't gotten much attention in a while given all of NIN's haste options these days. Shura Haidate have DW as a forced HQ augment; +1 caps at DW+5 and it's worth noting that you can also get up to Store TP+5 on them. Obviously not a build for when you're getting outside buffs given that you're looking at nearly 73% delay reduction with just this + haste spell. Datmining indicates that Koga Chainmail is currently set to gain Dual Wield at 99; if it's at least DW+5% then it'll be a nice addition to this set. Koga Hakama don't have any visible indications of additional DW, but we'll see... the HP+ on them would be semi-convenient for triggering latent as opposed to TPing in your best-in-slot -HP item. |
