Yeah it's basically like this, want more consistant spikes, or lower average ws damage.

Is that set going to be used for abyssea or outside? For abyssea it seems decent, as for outside it'll be a bad idea. It seems like you're focusing too much on stacking Agi, because your Str and Dex takes a hit pretty badly.

there is str/dex on every piece though? and set bonus gives +15 additional str/dex, if anything it adds more str/dex than traditional sets, in exchange for maybe 3% crit rate, and some crit dmg from loki's/athos and what i normally use byakko's haidate aug'd
It's really only 5 str/dex/agi per piece for the final two items. Athos' Tabard is at least as good even when critrate is low and pulls well ahead of Thaumas if critrate is high.

Head is a good choice if Ocelomeh +1 isn't boosting your dDEX. Hands are a good dDEX option. Legs depend on dDEX/total critrate. Feet are best-in-slot.

ok plugged it all into the dps spreadsheet
bergresser and rcb only buffs used

results were this set won for outside full time dynamis dc mobs

*99 str katana + ele belt for high tier vw

and this set won for inside abyssea gh/rr/apoc

*4 crit dmg 6 agi on haidate, 3 crit rate on kote

I wasn't sure if you were going for a abyssea or outside WS setup. The set isn't bad, but most-likely, you shouldn't be using 4/5 let alone 5/5 for a WS setup. Feet, head and hands seem like the best pieces, meaning you won't see that extra +5~10 stat boost. Feet seems like the best so far, af3+2 or augmented Seiryu's beat those hands and the head seems good if you can toss the Dex from Ocelomeh.

To be honest, i really don't look at abyssea sets anymore, due to the fact that everyone is level 99. If you can't pull big numbers still at 99, then shame on you. As for your outside WS setup, it needs some work. For starters, your Dex is way too low.

for starters, dps spreadsheet said it was the best lol

secondly i WOULDNT use nin outside, but if im inside abyssea for some reason im usually nin, im just saying options

dont forget to add in 10 str, 10 agi, 10 dex in my first set it boosts it up quite high

We have no idea what your race was, debuffs, etc and answers will vary by dDEX/fSTR/pDIF/additional buffs (hi2u Innin). It's also entirely possible you neglected some configurations. The more accurate statement would be "it was the best set I found for one specific situation".

EDIT: so what, NIN is supposed to just sit on their *** when not procing in VW?

I don't understand how that can be the "best". Sounds like you only used gear from your previous posts. There are better sets out there than the one you just posted and called "the best". I dunno what spreadsheet you're using, either you're doing something wrong, it's lying to you, or you just have your mind set that you're using your set no matter what. Like i said before, it's not a bad set, but there's better ones that can be created.

AND Night beats me to the post again. Also, what's this whole "i don't use Nin outside of Abyssea" fad that's been going on lately? Is it because people don't know how to put up high numbers without RR/GH/Apoc?

Some quick improvements assuming Taru NIN/DNC, RCBs, Dia II, Box Step:

Kamome -> STR Arisui
Windbuffet -> Crudelis Cuchulain's (dDEX)
Gorget -> Hope Torque

I'll look at 4/5 Thaumas vs a more mixed set momentarily. I hope I don't have to point out that a lot of this is built around the AGI of this specific mob.

reading is hard, but dps spreadsheet says kamome, gorget are both better, and cuch is better than windbuffet my bad, and im taru nin/war, that's with dia 2, bergressor, rcb

You'll have to enlighten me as to why you'd go NIN/WAR over NIN/DNC to Dynamis.

EDIT: I'm unable to replicate your results for offhand and neck slot regardless of sub, even at capped pDIF. Do you have the most recent version?

EDIT2: Well, Kamome does win in terms of per-WS damage given that you're well past Ratio cap but it's inferior as an overall choice so I'm not sure I can really accept it as a good option here.

My current Blade: Hi setup for outside Abyssea is this:

Seiryus Kote: STP +2, Crit Rate +2
Byakko's Haidate: STP +2, AGI +6

I want to improve on this set, thinking of doing the following:

Ocelomeh Headpiece > Ocelomeh Headpiece +1
Rancor Collar > Soil Gorget
Aesir Ear Pendant > WotG earring with +25 TP Bonus
Seiryu's Kote > Continue Augmenting for a Crit Hit +3
Solemn Ring > Either Rajas or Epona's. Perhaps another Stormsoul?
Atheling Mantle > Rancorous Mantle
Soil Belt > Windbuffet Belt
Byakko's Haidate > Continue augmenting it until I get a decent Crit Damage one.

Am I heading in the right direction?

Edit: I'm an Elvaan

Neck: Keep Rancor
Ring: Go for Epona's
Waist: Can use either Cuchalain belt(If you Dex is too low), or Anguinus belt.
Body: Iga Ningi+2
Back: Probably Atheling mantle since you already have a Rancor collar. If you have/get a Hope torque, then go with Rancorous Mantle.

They're also planning to switch to Rancorous Mantle, so swapping out Rancor Collar is indeed the way to go since the two items don't stack. Try for Hope Torque though. Looks good overall, Iga Ningi +2 should be a bridge item pending Athos's Tabard if you feel it's within reach.

Also I evidently never got back to this thread about the Thaumas set. As far as I can tell, 4/5 Thaumas + Athos's Tabard is indeed the best option for the setup mentioned above (Taru, Dyna DC, etc). Still kind of surprising to me, but good to know at any rate.

Now the issue is finding good players to do a Nyzle static with. I personally wanna do a 6 dnc or like 3 sam 3 dnc setup for nyzle. Because in my opinion, those 2 jobs offer the most in damage and ability to survive and I love them.(yes blu is wicked awesome too, but just not my style).

2x SCH is hax for Nyzul, just saying. Fulltime Embrava is an insane buff in a time-limited event, especially when you're running around a lot and can better benefit from the regain. It's completely doable without SCHs but you'll have a much better win rate with them. Enspell, regen, etc are also nice and they can nuke flan NMs.

Man I know like 1 sch on my server lol :/ I swear I've shouted for like 2 days, noone wants to even try new nyzle. This is dumb. And sorry to say this ninja's, not trolling, just stating a fact. Nin is not a DD. I highly recommend staying out of neo nyzle.

I'd recommend at least one BLU as well, but don't tell night/proth/draylo I said that, only cuz you'll get dicked on a "no white magic floor" and someone will have to heal.

blu's good, but with embrava/regen 5 its less about healing because you get like 176 hp per tic.

the dps spreadsheet told me that gorget was better for blade: hi over hope torque, night kept recommending it and i kept telling him no lol

Dont see myself getting a Hope Torque anytime soon. So Soil Gorget for the time being?

Is Rancorous Mantle + Hope Torque/Soil Gorget + Anguinus/Cuchulains a better setup than Atheling + Rancor Collar + Soil Belt/Anguinus/Cuchulains ?
