Scars of Abyssea speculation

I posted this in the Abyssea thread, but it's probably better off in its own thread:
So with Scars of Abyssea coming out in about a month and a half, what do you guys think SE will add? Seems that the current zones are already filled with enough mobs, so I could see them doing one of two things:
They could release new zones (i.e. Altepa, Terrigan, or Attowha) complete with new mobs/NMs. The new zones could be the place for level 80-90 exp grinds, leaving the current three zones for 70-80.
My other idea is that SE introduces an instanced aspect to Abyssea, like Limbus or Dynamis. I'm inclined to think AFv3 will drop from something like this.
I know this is just wild speculation, but what do you think the next add-on has in store to answer promises of higher levels and new gear? Hopefully we get an update teaser in a couple weeks...

You have good ideas... but I think its wayyyyyy to early for speculation on this. We should wait until we have a shread of a rumor to go on.

maybe you need the expansion to unlock 90
or maybe they add abyssea in Grauburg, Fort and vunkerl in the past and add high lvl mobs

im not sure if they'll even add new zones for abyssea, due to the fact u can already get 600exp/kill after couple hours so theres no need for a higher lvl zone.
Im hoping we get something like Limbus/Dynamis in Abyssea just to add something new to abyssea that isnt purely EXP or 1-2 NM based

Yea I was just going in a linear direction. Highlands -> Dunes, Plateau -> Jugner, Canyon -> Bubu. But they could go with a totally totally separate group of 3 (in which cause Rolanberry, Batallia, and Sauromugue seem like a good choice), or do something totally crazy that nobody expects.

I think because se is so cheap and it seems to be easier just to clone a zone. Abyssea will eventually be all zones. and i think that the abyssea dynamis event will be in ordelles shakrami and gusgen. and the new areas will be higher level with a mix of non high level.

Well Scars could be what you said, with the next expansion being the ones I listed (or icelands).

This was my first idea too, but I wasn't sure if there would be a programming issue having 2 different maws in one zone. Still a likely possibility. I thought about Valkurm, Bubu, and Qufim too, but I'd think SE would stay away from zones that already have maws or Dynamis.

The new expansion will have only 2 new areas: Abyssea - Bhaflau and Abyssea - Wajoam.
Every mob will be colibri. Everyone will level there and BLM won't be welcome and FFXI will finally be set straight again.

I think that speculation to a new area would be somewhat premature at this point, as others have said. I understand that there will be the level cap increase going along with future updates, but tailoring new zones to grind for those levels won't make much sense unless these new zones were to have a higher xp/mob cap than 600, as any of the current zones can reach this regardless of level difference in the alliance. I saw my friend go from 51 PUP to 80 in a matter of a week and a half by being a chest monkey for the most part. (My point is that even though he was way under level of most of the alliance, he was still receiving 600/kill after a few hours)
With that said, I think that new areas would, at most, just add newer armor and mobs. There are some incredible drops from Abyssea as-is, but something tells me that there may just be more of the same. I would just expect to see another zone that becomes relative to your alliance and has a very unique monster selection. As for what zones I would suspect, I would go with zones that don't already have Cavernous Maws in them, since the Highlands, La Theine Plateau, and Tahg Canyon were not accessible in the past and therefore mawless. (It would also be really confusing to newer players if there was more than one maw in a zone)
Hopefully SE will decide to add a little more rich of a storyline, since I haven't seen much other than grinding in Abyssea zones. The NM's that you have to kill seem too time consuming and unless you have a ls to help pop and kill, the storyline is at a stand still.

catch is: only that boss drops the best armor, weapons, items in the game
and it's free-lot

I like all of this. Abyssea - Xarcabard sets you up against Maatv2, with perma-Formless Strikes / Hundred Fists and immune to all enfeebles. Drops Maat's vest, all stats +50, dispenses primeval brew every 24 hours
