Ryunohige - Completed 1/12/13 Much thanks to Phraust, Brehn, Moonyoung, Shaoulin, and Luvlaijaden for being my biggest supporters in Salvage, Assault, Alexandrites, and Einherjar. And to Quartett, Poring, Vivivivi for committing to the headhunting in bazaars and making an effort to sell to me after you came up on some Alexandrites. Thanks also to Milich, Symulence, Rolliefingaz, Darktemplar and Daywalker who also were able to donate Alexandrites to this really really long quest. There's no way I could have done this without you guys. Also special mention to Fiorela for being very generous to donate 42 on my last stretch, Blackcloud for helping out in Nyzul, Arylias, Nyobi, Longarm, Cloudxz, Darthjohnboy and Kyler for finding Alexandrites when I was first starting out and 30,000 was the massive task at hand. And thanks to Kainstryder for saving me Ichor by spotting me for Odin entry items. And finally thanks to Reiyn and Jyakotsu for leaving your characters in my care. It was a massive load off my shoulders to have the freedom to re-do the mundane Assaults without having to bother people to waste tags when Nyzul Uncharted was the hot event. Having a THF and a RDM on hand definitely made things easier to do on my own. After having alex done since July, I finally managed to finish everything before server shutdown, thanks to my friends and linkshell people and all that other mushy stuff! I still can't believe I achieved this. I am so excited right now. It was a year ago I first started my journey, having quit in July, I never thought I'd be back to try and finish this off! Thank you to everyone that sold me cheap cinders, and for their support: Sechs, Tamoa, Failaras, Umbrat, Bratgurl, but especially you, Schizogamer. If you're playing on an older machine like I am, you probably experience crap FPS when Veridical Confluxes appear. Having figured NPC/area effects better, I was able to remove the glow around the Confluxes, greatly improving frame rate. It's moments like these which makes FFXI a special game. Where fans of the series can bunch together and overcome obstacles. We grinded for over a year to become strong enough to tackle what the game has to offer. We're not hardcore players, none of us are elitist, we don't show off and we always have time for those who need help. We win and lose like a family. When we lose, we come together to figure out why. I've always hated having to lead stuff, but these guys make it easy. I've always found the best group of players are those who do what you want, before you even thought of asking them too. They take it upon themselves to do what is right given the situation, and that's due to practice, it's due to listening. It's due to wanting the best for everyone there. We don't have a LS bank. We don't have a points system. We don't have hoarders, we pass items/gear to whoeever needs it most. And we're not closed off to the world, we'll take anyone who is willing to do what they can to win. I already said my thanks in our post in the Cerberus sub-forum. So when someone says you need to be on a populated server to make an Aeonic, let it be known that it doesn't matter how many players are on the server, so long as you can find a nice, small group of players who want to succeed, then anything is possible. It might take longer, but the journey is always better than the destination. We wear our Aeonics with pride, and we'll keep going as long as this remains fun. Peace out.
