Interesting that you'd automatically assume I have an inability to construct sentences. "Plain English" can get rather droll, if I do say so myself.

Is it not also hard for "people these days" to make a statement whilst avoiding adding a condescending connotation to it?

But your whole previous post didn't make any sense the way you worded it.

Best I can guess is that your nukes weren't doing much dmg and want help with nuke setups for dreamlands.

If not then no idea what it meant.

Dialect, if it's the proper word, doesn't usually come out well when written. To be honest, I was somewhat hoping somebody would've translated, then proceeded to answer in relatively the same way. I would've found it quite entertaining.

However, to elaborate a bit: I noticed I wasn't doing jack for damage. Seeing as I've never done Dreamlands (Amongst other Endgame things) I'm curious as to what I should be targeting with what sets. I normally just focus on Max Damage (Or Enfeebles if I Sleep).

NM Dragons usually took about 150-170ish. The Crabs, around 99. Granted, these were only a few nukes, but I'm used to seeing better numbers, even on Statues.

I would say definitely increase your int/skill, try using cream puffs too. swap out philomath stole for elemental torque.

can only guess what your gear setup is from your profile, not sure what all is available to you.

dont fulltime af2 pants, nuke in igqira/afhat/demonhelm+1

yeah gonna have to post your real sets for any constructive advice, merit ele skill at the least and wear AF hands if youre getting resisted a lot.. as the vicious mufflers are doing nothing if youre landing 1/4 or 1/8 resist nukes

FullDMG:
[Staff] Look to HQ these ASAP, Dark->Thunder->Ice->Wind->others are less important (some people may argue of the exact order
Phantom Tathlum Fine
AF Hat OK, but look towards Demon Helm+1 of AF+1
Igqira Weskit Fine
Vicious Mufflers Fine
Errant Slops (AF2 where applicable) HQ the slops when you can, AF2 is great when active
Moldy Good
Morion Ear Good for now, obviously a HQ would help, but it would be low on the list
Zircon Ring x2 Change to at least Diamond Ring
Prism Cape Good
Penitent's Good
Philomath Stole IMO your BLM isn't 'good' enough to use this, Elemental Torque will help you more, even in your max damage set.

HighResist[And Mid-resist, I guess]

Black Cloak NO! don't nuke in this, I know it has a little more skill, but just don't
Wizard's GlovesGood, obviously +1 them ASAP

While the OP made my head hurt so much I was tempted no to bother, I am going to do my 1 good deed for today.

Personally I think you have spend money in the wrong places, the 500k on the prism cape would have been better used on an HQ staff for example.

New rings ASAP IMO, Diamond aren't expensive, and in that set they represent a reasonable improvement in both damage and accuracy.

Also, outside of merits/city dynamis I would suggest you use AF gloves, nuking consistently should be your first aim and I can imagine on anything on anything remotely resistive you are struggling to be consistent.

Sorry Arg, there's a "translated version" a few posts down, seeing as the humor went *Whoosh!*

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm used to "Swing 6 times, WS, repeat" xD

Also, if there are specific zones/NMs/Mobs I should have a resist set for, I'd love to know. Up until now I've only really nuked puddings and City Dyna mobs.

Nightmare crabs's Bubble Curtain TP move gives them MDB so expect low numbers on them.

Maat's cap for +7 INT! RAWR! get to work :p

Do you have max elemental magic merits? Those really help on the resist rate. Max them out asap if you are serious about blm.

Look into getting Goliard Clogs or Yigit Feet.

Somewhat waivering at the moment on my "Seriousness." The current gear was pretty much whatever was up on AH at the time, but as time passes, I'm liking the ability to not have to rely on others for parties and whatnot. ^^

Black cloak is all kinds of bad.

Using it is not only alot less dmg but it's about the same macc then a simple demon helm+1 NQ weskit combo.

Like Sephrin said, cap out elemental merits, this will help a ton.
Also try to pick up an elemental torque, and use it for both sets until you can afford to use an INT neckpiece.
Pretty much what others said, don't nuke in black cloak also.

Normally it is customary to ask a question in the vain in which you wish for someone to answer it.

IMO without Elemental merits and some pretty low end AH gear (no offence) you should be using your skill (average damage) set.

Kujata.Argettio said:
This isn’t aimed at any one in particular, but this is my view on how a BLM should progress once they hit 75.

The first aim for a BLM is to get the 4 main HQ staves (Thunder, Ice, Dark, Wind) and a pretty solid ‘average’ damage set, this will act as your main nuking set for meriting and the few events you come on as BLM. Its main aim is to do the best DoT (so low resist rate).

As a fresh your skills and merits will be low so to do decent damage (over time) you will need a combination of skill/m.acc and INT/MAB. Later as your merits and gear get better you can start separating this ‘average’ damage set into 2 sets; the classical Skill and Max damage sets.

Once your ‘average’ damage set is up to scratch and you have the 4 staves then you should look into a solid enfeebling set. BLM has low natural skill, but gets a lot of ‘Enfeebling ’ gear. A good EG BLM’s enfeebling set should have as much skill as some ‘AH’ 75 RDMs (personally I hit 293 skill atm). Igqira head and legs are great starts (the legs are pretty affordable these days).
So now you have a decent all round nuking set, a decent enfeebling build and some decent merits your BLM is ready to really start attending events. You now have a few choices based on how you plan to use your BLM and how seriously you want to take it. Things most people add now are:

* A skill set (aka ‘320/120’) for nuking God/Jailers/Bosses/HNMs
* A real max damage set, which should be a beefed up version of your old ‘average’ damage. This is for Dynamis/Merits/Farming/Limbus/Einherjar (non boss). Here is where you would consider a Sorc ring.
* A Darkmagic set for Drain/Aspir (this should be a mix of skill and haste)
* A Stun set for magic casting mobs and stunning TP moves (this should be max haste, with some skill added)
* A resting set for people who want more nukes per minute

A ‘career’ BLM should have all of the above (and possibly some more besides), but less serious BLM could remove sets depending on what they are intending on doing.

What each set contains varies based on budget etc. But there should be plenty of ‘cookie’ cutter builds out there that you can copy.

This is something I wrote in previous BLM thread which I think would be a good starting point for you. If you have any specific question then post and we will try and answer them
