WHM is pretty much dependent on AHable gear. Relic pieces are only situationally good and Blessed/Nobles is really some of the best gear you can use. There might be some other pieces that work well but no one will criticize you for not having them. Another great thing about those sets is that, compared to a lot of other end-all-be-all AHable gear for other jobs, WHM AH gear is far cheaper IMO.

Can get a decent starter kit w/ mnk's AH options, but those are used during the transition to obtaining endgame gear, as we all know that takes time, but just getting there, and having no further interest going on, doesn't cut it.

I too would go with whm..you can get your MaxHP+ Cure set, idle set, HMP Set and -emn set all from AH and even if you did EG a large part of it would still come from AH.
Blm? I don't really see blm being all that AHable..I mean there are some ~ok pieces you can get but some of the best peices like Zenith, Mor, Goliard?, and Yigit aren't on AH, and all blm should try for at least Zenith hands and Yigit feet.

I think WHM and BRD are the easiest jobs to effectively gear from the AH without spending huge sums of gil. A passable (but not great) BLM can also largely be geared from the AH, but be warned, it's significantly more expensive than WHM or BRD.

Hhp+7 >.> Haven't gotten a single one that has any benefit towards dealing damage. Got one w/ +15 hp, one w/ +6 wind, one w/ -1 str -1 dex, one w/ +4 wind, one w/ +4 wind +4 light, and a few others, can't remember them all off the top of my head.
I got a Foragers Mantle with Magic Evasion +2!
As far as BRD goes, yes you can gear it from the AH, but if you're not doing endgame, you don't need the extra CHR from errant hpl. or osode to land on anything you'd be fighting anyway, and yigit/manteel are going to prove much more useful, and are also not obtained from endgame events.
