"Let me be the first to say that i would be thrilled if America's health-care system is anywhere near as functional as the post office"
-Liberal Wack Jobs.

Excuse me...

Postmaster General John Potter told Congress "The USPS is once again facing losses of historic proportion. Our situation is critical."

Let me be honest. The United States Post Office is my favorite example of how government meddling can prevent an organization from reaching full potential.

Since they are unable to execute business strategies, because they are government operated, it has cost the USPS atleast $500 million a year for the last 30+ years. That is all losses, no profit.

The USPS lost $2.8 Billion in 2008, and will lose another $4-5 Billion by the end of 2009. That's right... I said Billion.

So how can the same people who fail at running the Post Office, Medicare, Medicaid, Fannie & Freddie, Amtrak, Citigroup, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc Actually even consider trying to run America's Health-care!?

Why a skent knee may soon be fatal :3

"...$46 Million hardworking Americans are uninsured..."

<.<

I smell ***.
This figure... $46 Million.... is an argument for those advocating more government control of health care. If you know the facts, you can see that they are using an exxagerated, head turning, number as a way to get America to spend tens of billions of dollars on a anew entitlement for people who are NOT entitled to anything.

***:
46 Million people out of insurance @_@

Fact:
10 Million of those people figured into that number are illegal aliens... Why the hell would they do that? Use your head :3

Fact:
46-10 = 36 Million, which is still a large number, but this is where personal responsibility comes in.

18 Million out of that 36 Million uninsured have a household income of $50,000 a year. More than half of them have a household income of over $75,000 a year. Isn't that enough money to afford insurance if it was their top priority? Hell, I was making $20,000 a year, and I was buying insurance for $50 a month which was cheaper than my car insurace!

Another 14 Million Americans Qualify for government insurance, but they just haven't applied for it.

The real number for the chronically uninsured is actually 3% of the population...

I agree that everyone should have insurance, but these numbers they give you have been massaged and are false.

Let's say tomorow you win the lottery for $100 Million, you quit your job, you let your health insurance lapse for a month, and then you buy the biggest best health insurance policy you can find. How do you think that should be categorized? Well, according to the media, and major advocacy groups you are now one the of "Millions of Uninsured Americans"

""Insurance is toooooo expensive""

Many insurance companies offer basic health insurance plans for around $50 a month. You can do a lot better on price if you're a full time student.

This is part of the idiocy that is the idea of universal health care. When you give free insurance to someone who can afford it, but who instead chooses to spend their money on other things, you are in effect paying for those other things. I refuse to have our gov subsidize anyone's pussycat dolls ringtones.. Although that wouldn't be the worste way the federal gov has spent their money.

Take hurricane katrina for instance...

Private donations surpassed the $1 Billion mark, and most of it went to private aid organizations which provided good relief...

FEMA on the other hand........................

~Handed over $6.3 Billion in taxpayer's money~
~A quarter of that went to scammers~
~They gave cash to inmates @_@~
~Sent checks to people who said they lived in cemeteries or post office boxes~
~They reimbursed people for rent even though they were living in hotels that were already being paid for by... You guessed it FEMA!~
~FEMA reportedly lost over $762,000 in debit cards.~

THIS IS YOUR MONEY! The government can't fail because they are backed up by Trillions of dollars provided by YOU!

What The @_@!

Remember the history books? Back in 1887 when texas farmers were suffering through a catastrophic drought? These days, the funding would not only be authorized, it would probably be done so under an emergency program that gave more money to the farmers than they ever dreamed of. But Not in 1887 under Grover Cleveland~ "the people support the government the government should not support the people."

What the *** happened? LOL

Oh get this...

Michael Moore: "The United States slipped to number thirty-seven in health care around the world, just slight ahead of Slovenia."

Mikey More brought this up in his movie "Sicko" which was the biggest load of ***I have ever watched in my entire life.

37th??? American's Health care system???

You're right.. That is ***!

Seemingly damning evidence of our disatrous health-care system, right?

Right!?

Wrong....!

Moore does tell you America's health care is ranked nunmber 37 in the world, but what he doesn't tell you is where those statistics come from and how they were calculated.

These statistics come from an all time favorite media source: the report card of the best health care systems in the world, by the World Health Organizations/United Nations.

Is the UN a fair arbiter of the policies of the US? You are right.. It isn't...

The U.N admits their stats have been "Hampered with"

Mostly though, they just blindly accepted what governments around the world told them, including the always reliable Castro in Cuba.

The study that ranks America 37th in Health care, is a political how to guide on the best way to run the most U.N-like government. For example, the US gets punished for not having a progressive enough tax system.

What the hell does that have to do with health care!?

The most damaging category to the US overall ranking is our 54th-place finish in the oh so objective category of "Fairness" something they define as "the smallest feasible differences among individuals and groups"

Let me explain the absurdity of this....

~^~*** Let's say you have two patiens (one rich, one poor) who can be cured only by an expensive or experimental treatment. By the U.N standards, a country that lets both patients die is superior to one that manages to save one. That is the "Fairness" they are refering too........***~^~

Michael Moore and others use this study that requires socialism to have a good health care system to prove that socialists have a good health care systems. Does that make sense!?

This is absurd... It is like...

Citing a report done by Burger King on hamburger quality that heavily depends on such objective measures as "Prominence of Flame Broiling." My guess is that McDonald's, Krystal, and Taco Bell wouldn't do so well.....

Michael Moore also says that Cuba's health care system is better than America's health care system because they live longer than Americans.

Sure Cuba's Life expectancy rate is a little higher than America's, but it is a terrible way to judge a health care system...

Why? Because a lot of people due for reasons that can't be controlled by doctors`.

Car wrecks and Murder

We love our cars, and Detroit's Murder rate alone is equal to Venezuela's.

While Cuban's eat to stay alive, American's eat to kill ourselves. Some of Cuba's shortcomings actually improve their health profile.
Since Cuba is a poor poor country, not everyone enjoys cars like us fat lazy rich American's do. SO they get a hell of a lot more exercise. They also have a surfeit of food which keeps them from problems like obesity.

WOW What a glorious endorsement of communism!!! If only America could be so lucky as to have just enough food to survive and no ability to travel easily, maybe we too could be as happy and healthy as Cubans :P

is this about our healthcare plans going down the toilet, Micheal Moore's new movie, or the USPS being as functional as a soggy dollar bill?

Companies DO give health care for a 50$ a month, but that covers literally nothing for me. It's just emergency use. No prescriptions, no doctor visits etc.

I do however NOT want universal health care, I'll be *** if some crackhead has the same coverage as I.

When someone goes to a doctor that has insurance, the doctor charges them 100s of dollars that they don't even know about. Since the Insurance company pays for it....

Tell a doctor that you don't have insurance, and your visit can be as cheap as 10-20 Dollars a visit ~,^

+$5 Prescription at Wally Mart.. That comes to an outrageous price of $15-25 Dollars.. @_@

Yeah well, the pills I have are 8$ a pop. I can't get it filled at walmart because they deem it as a luxury and not a prescription they feel necessary.

So what about France, Italy and all the countries Above U.S.A? Are they "Poor poor" like Cuba? Also Cuba is not ranking above the U.S.A. Cuba is no #39. Thought you did brought a good point that Car wrecks and Murders in the USA maybe higher than in Cuba, let's take another country for example. Columbia ranks 22 in health-care and ranks No. 1 on murders per capita.

I respond with another quote!
USPS.COM said:
WASHINGTON—The U.S. Postal Service ended its third quarter (April 1 – June 30) with a net loss of $2.4 billion, including a non-cash adjustment that increased workers’ compensation expense by $807 million. Ongoing electronic diversion and the widespread economic recession continued to reduce mail volume, resulting in a $1.6 billion decrease in revenue for the quarter.

Despite cost reductions against the fiscal 2009 plan of more than $6 billion and actions to grow revenue, the Postal Service (USPS) projects a net loss of more than $7 billion at fiscal year-end. The organization’s financial situation is compounded by its obligation to pay $5.4 billion to $5.8 billion annually to prefund retiree health benefits. This requirement, established in the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006, is an obligation that no other government agency has to pay. {1}

In short, their losses its not because how are they managed. It's the obligation to they have for their retiree health benefits.
Bulleta said:

Why you keep mentioning Cuba and mentioning Communism?! D:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In a way I would not like an Universal Health-care, as it would make people lose their jobs. But FACE IT, Health-care in the U.S.A. its not good.
I like the OP. Good points. I lol very hard when people go " I wish our healthcare was like canadas" or when canadians go "American government and doctors are greedy, healthcare should be free" there is no free healthcare, if it's so called free, its regulated and rationed. Which means theres not enough medicine to go around, let alone treat you if your case isnt severe enough. Look at the cancer death rates in america compared to canada and england. K. exactly. Also no one bring up the issue of cancer not being covered under insurance because thats ***, I sell life, accident, and health insurance, and my company insures you in most cases if you have cancer ALREADY! the buisness of insurance is changing because of the economic slump america is currently in. I can write most of you a policy for less then 40 dollars a month that will give you full medical, emercency, dental, and vision without even one physical.
once again I really like this OP imma have to favorite this and send it to my father, who writes the blog "Da Patriot page" I'll link it here later after i get back from the store (gonna buy his xmas present ^^)
After living in England, with universal healthcare it takes ages to:
1.) Find a good doctor.
2.) Actually diagnose and get treated for a condition I have.
Imagine if every single leech that doesn't work, and needs a lot more help from a health care system had the same health care as you in a country as big as America. Taxes would be through the roof, getting to see an actual doctor would be madness.
If we walked as much as Europeans, had borders that were even half as tight as those of communist countries and had very little access to of all things food, we would probably all live to be 120 years old. Add in the fact that with a good insurance plan the procedures and treatments we have available you could be looking at some living to the 130+ range. Now I'd like to live a long and happy life, but over 100 years I think I would ***my pants ( Maybe even literally) at the mere fact of seeing how much worse the world around me gets in that time. 37 is a great number, man if we were #1 we'd run out of places to build houses and to grow food. There would be 5+ generations alive at the same time (Imagine the christmas bills- China would be happy we would need to purchase so much crap to be able to afford it lmao). Bulletta is one pissed off chick but I agree with her in the fact that the Government tends to be very poor at anything domestic yet we are so good at saving the rest of the world from evil. One day we will probably focus domestically and stop worrying about everyone else, but fear that day rest of the world as it will be the day when China controlls you (Mhuahahahahaha) And please dont respond with well China owns most of our debt, because when it comes down to it if we dont want to pay it they wont risk being wiped form the face of the earth over it.
Lol Rant of incohernet thoughts from somone whom had the Bentley of insurance plans, but now has none and still doesnt want it if the government wants to run it like Europe. (Or anyone in the top 36 ;)
Agreed money is the root of all that is Evil. Always will be and always has been. In every country of the world greed runs rampant, some nations greed causes arms to be chopped off and tounges to be pulled out. Some just a disparity in treatment of the classes. America is still the greatest land of oppurtunity on the planet and the its people for the most part, more generous and tolerant than most of the world combined. Please do not judge a country on its leaders as most countries have poor leaders and greedy governments. Instead judge it on its people as i see in too many forums, its always fat lazy greedy Americans ruining the world. Instead of the truth being all the fat lazy greedy governments of the world are the true destroyers. Rich get richer and the poor get poorer in every country. American public health care is basically a bad thing for the economy : CEOs and share-holders of big insurance compagnies are going to lose the easy money they make on millions of hard working people backs that, are so happy to give their money away to them. So yeah, it's bad news for the economy... who is gonna buy Ferraris anymore, luxury boats, and all basic things of life, such as jacuzzis, breast enlargment surgery and caviar ?!
lol no doubt
but don't get me wrong
when i say lasy fatt americans,
I'm refering to our mentality
and how we are content with the little we have
when we can have so much more with a little sacrafice.
Ex. are americans in this day and age
really willing to sacrafice their
every day life style for change.
Meaning it might take a political revolution/civil
war against the government(rich people in power)
marches, rallies ect... (as a people)
to bring about any real change.
but are we willing to sacrafice our every day comfort
(our normal way of living) to acheive this?
I'd say no.
and this is way nothing will change.
as long as gang bangers can get shot, go to the nearest free clinic where they abort babies on a daily basis, get patched up without having to have insurance, and be out of there the next day... Then our system works.
