"My Hands" From Leona Lewis, Off Her Upcomming Album Chosen As FF13 Theme Song?!?!

Im not an expert on the japanese market or anything but SE has been using popular asian pop artists for a long time. Im sure that seemed commercialized to alot of the jp population. They've even used popular jp artists to try to attract more of the foreign crowd. Any anime watcher is going to know who Gackt or Utada Hikaru is....if I had a nickel for everytime I saw a self proclaimed otakus playlist and it was a list dedicated to 50 songs by Utada Hikaru...what SE should do next is reunite the band Dir en grey or whatever its called and western otakus will pee themselves in joy I assure you. But I guess its only truly commercialized when SE tries to blatantly attract more western fans by using a western artist?

like I said before, it could be worse..it could be Beyonce..atleast Leona Lewis isnt that big of a name..or atleast here it isnt and she can sing (not that beyonce cant sing, its just her name carries alot of weight to it).

I've not actually played the game, I cant say how good or bad it is and I dont even know what the japanese theme for the game is. Ill have to hold off my judgements for later.

Yep Im sure FF started feeling really weird by the time FF7 came around and then it probably felt weirder when FF8 came out. I dont know I was still playing sonic the hedgehog on the sega geneses and rayman on the PS1 when those came out :P Those games eventually became the new "normal" though. FF12 felt weird when it came out..Im sure eventually these new games will start to feel normal several FFs down the road.

I like original scores also, but its hard to put down a game before even playing it. Nobuo cant be around forever, we just have to look forward to the new FF genius and maybe they havent found it yet?

If only SE could get Joe Hisaishi....

I'd listen to ff11's music more if it wasn't so bad on the whole. Yes, there are some great tracks... however...

1. most outdoor areas just use the "ambient" sound which is only atmospheric in the odd one or two of them.

2. most dungeon areas don't actually have music!

3. you hear the battle theme WAY TOO MUCH

If all of the tracks in 14 have the quality of Ronfaure/Sarutabaruta etc to them though... then I'll keep sound on :)

If there's music like that in FFXIII, I'll play with the sound off.

My sentiments exactly, which'll make this the first FF I haven't avidly been awaiting the release of and the first FF I'll have ever played through without loving the music (11 being the exception for obvious reasons).

everyone sounds like they are already saying this game is going to be horrible... i just think its strange that ONE song from the game is making everyone freak out over it. yea nobou isnt doing the music which sucks, but some guy that has always worked with him is doing it (cant remember the name) he also did the music for dirge of cerberus and a couple others, just saying, its not like the game is all of a sudden the worst thing in the world cause you dont like one song that will probably only be played once throughout the entire game.

I think FF11 has alot of great music, its just that unless you turn the sound off you'll be listening to the same tracks for hours on end and you'll get sick of it. I actually like Whitegates music, but I just cant really stomach to listen to it...I only turn my sound on for cutscenes and final boss fights. I used to listen to the radio but now I listen to the tv or some playlist when I play.

Haha I'm just worried that it seems so blatant that they're trying to attract for lack of a better word "casuals". We don't want dumbed down Fantasy 13, we want a proper prestigious Final Fantasy title.

When you try to make things more mainstream, they tend to suck.

I've personally been hoping for a much much longer storyline. It seems like the games have been getting shorter since FFX, I dont know if thats just because they've gotten easier or if the 1disc has gotten deceiving and the other FFs arent as long as I remember or what. Not that I didnt enjoy FFX or anything.....I always compared FF to books, Id rather have a quality super thick book then a short one 8(

I agree with this, i think its just the fact as ive gotten older i've become more capable, like playing FF7 when i was like 8, i got stuck in alot of places for a long time and the game seemed huuuuge. Now i'll play games and complete them very quick. However games other than FF seem to be getting really short, i mean the new CoD wasnt exactly long...and i hope FF13 takes me months to complete playing everyday.
