I just keep adding ***to the filter list and they just keep coming back, at least its not 20 times a day and just 1-2... but still :\ It seems to be working ok on my end atm though, i add the filters as i get them and i never see a repeat, and i still havn't seen BR74 if they even still promote that.
I'm on windows 7 where so much ***is up in the air at this exact moment XD Kujata.Thevenominside said: The RMT must dual box 2 accounts. One with chat filter on, and one who sends the tells. They then must send this account tells until they can get a message through. SE actually thinks people are stupid. they can check if it is filter by "/tell <me> <spam message here>" and i got block by my own message when i typed "brosale.com" lol Edit: Second test (sorry for the lame message tell to a LS member was testing it by adding some random words >>' ) chatmon was updated to fix for the patch, but i didnt know they started adding invisible characters to the message to get around it. im about to fix that with chatmon.
Worst mistakes SE made:
1)The message letting the RMT know their tell was blocked. If they had no idea they were blocked they couldn't adjust it so quickly. 2)Random chatter between friends is triggering the filter - WTF? That looks NOTHING like brotard spam... Would /filter add "phrase here" have been so dang hard? Its nearly a copy paste from blacklist code -.- I had one today. Think they figured out they need better names cause his name was jerrytom

Just to show how pathetic they are getting with changing their URLs because of the filter lol
Garuda.Feifongwong said: Just to show how pathetic they are getting with changing their URLs because of the filter lol It's getting worse, I was lmao when this came through Surely their target customers wouldnt be able to figure that out :3 Asta~ PC users, should switch to 360.
Party chat is a saver. Unless you have like 23423984 friends and cant talk to them all at the same time. I can see it now, the FFXI spam filter will spawn some kind of new 1337speek
the rest of the world will think were total *** for doing it too. Sylph.Strident said: Sorry to say but SE will never do anything regarding RMT actions. They may say to the community that they are working diligently to help the "real" players. But in all regards think of the money that SE is making off of these "RMT accounts". Yes, they'll continue to catch them and delete their accounts, but in the same token they get much more money per month back when they let the same IP's make accounts over. It's a win win for them and for this reason RMT actions will never end. :) I don't think that the costs of the extra serverload and GM's extra time all these RMT add, weighs up to what the RMT add by buying new copies of FFXI. Well the advertising (and I'll assume the distribution also) is done entirely by using the free accounts. Cost for RMT 0, cost for SE a lot And I think most RMT activities have now move to more "not so obvious" things that aren't detected so quickly. So I don't think they actually lose that many accounts because they get caught. Anyway, in the end it only comes down to one things, if people stop buying gil, you won't have any RMT left. And you'll always have people buying gil because they have the feeling they need to to "enjoy" the game to it's fullest (by having a big e-peen for example). So yeah, I haven;t had a RMT /tell all morning... Could they be giving up? Garuda.Feifongwong said: Just to show how pathetic they are getting with changing their URLs because of the filter lol Wow, that totally reminds me of 4chan's anontalk spam. >.> As far as the secondary topic (/p macros), I hate the excessive use of them as well, -especially- for vokes. I can maybe understand "Cure" macros by whm's so that people would know that they at least -tried- to heal the designated person (even if they died) Crimson Footlicker hits Bob for 923 points of damage. (Imanicewhm) Cure V on Bob!! Casting!! Imanicewhm starts casting Cure V on Bob. Crimson Footlicker hits Bob for 240 points of damage. Bob was defeated by Crimson Footlicker. (Imanicewhm) Sorry, failed. (Bob) At least you tried, and for that, I love you. But yeah, anyway, last thing I need to be seeing are Sam's meditate macro's, Pld's voke "ready" macros, or other such useless macros. If you need to be reminded that your skill is ready, use /echo. It's there for a reason. And if you must have a sound accompanying your macros, send a /tell to yourself and set your /tell filter to sound. Seriously, though, since "ready" macros go off after 30 seconds... it really just means you didn't do much else for 30 seconds. I said: Random chatter between friends is triggering the filter - WTF? They basically gave me the "working as intended" there. Yet all the previously blocked tells pictured above suddenly work. Saying they corrected or adjusted the filter is to hard for poor SE's little ego... Another way they're delivering tells now:
Anybody else been getting completely random /tells? I'm still getting all the ;;=bro etc. But im also getting alot like this...
Also some with just ~~~~~#~~~~~~#~~~~~~##~~~~~~#. Gilgamesh.Kunimitsu said: Anybody else been getting completely random /tells? GGG GG GG GGGGG GGG GGGG GG" a minute ago lol It's Morris code ... if you decode it, you'll end up with a clue. The clue will lead you on a long and arduous path with many quests and battles to be fought along the way. In the end ... if you've made it that far, you'll be rich with treasures ... for $24/1M ... ... ...

What I find amusing and it's a friend of mine who first said this: "Why do the RMT even bother trying to get around the filter? Anyone who has the filter on clearly isn't a customer since the filter is there to block RMT tells, it's not like it's helping them make more money, it's just wasting their time"
