Asura GS’er here. I have be doing this for years, I will craft any item for Goldsmithing. You bring mats, I synth, you keep result. Break, NQ, Hq1, Hq2, Hq3. I won’t buy mats nor fetch them for you. Just come prepared. With shield you break and lose certain items and may take a stack of said item. Or could be lucky and get 1/1.
2M each try for higher end synths (limbus gear)su5 weapons
1M each for mid, jse torques, stikini rings etc
And I also do synergy, for 2M I do fotia belt/torque.

I also do Hachrin-no-obi synergy. Made a few of those yesterday for ppl, same as pricing as Fotia synergy’s.

Profit, 1m 2M is chump change but somebody/ ppl could get lucky and save themselves 100m+ on an item. Up to them. Peace ✌️

Do you know what it costs to get a crafter shield?

2 mil per attempt is not a ripoff considering even a HQ1 is massive profit

presuming they wont r0 on a HQ2, but my understanding is if the discussion is made in game, GMs will protect against said fraud.

Ruining a character ban/reputation for an HQ is pretty crazy.
Especially with a shield.

But nope all good, and yeah don’t know the inflation rate compared to when I made shield but it was easily 2B Gil around 8years ago when I finished.

Dunno about #1, but 2,3 are totally accurate.

Also 4 - pretty much every LS has a guy that already offers this....

Does not negate that the changes he is doing compared to just selling items is exactly these 3 points above.

Ypu, Anyone I know with a shield has offered to craft for free if you bring mats.

I think the best way to craft for free, is to make your own shield ? :)

Jesus christ had you said "I'll craft it for you for free, but also I accept tips if you value my service" and people would likely tip you the amounts you're asking for. Now, instead, you sound like a ***.

If I were to ask any of my crafter friends to craft something with my mats of course they'd do it for free. Hell, *I* craft ***for people for free if someone is shouting and I can make it.

The KI needed for the new syn are from the shield itself, so only ppl who has shield can actually do this; which limited the supply heavily.

I think it is fair the guy offer his service for a price and be clear about it, far better than asking for a tip (tipping is so American)

@tarage He offering service to everyone (customers mainly); not everyone can befriend / ask for free from friends with shield.

Beside it doesnt cost only 6 sec for for someone with shield .. it was an investment for such amount of time and money (can be 2-3billions at peak) to put on the machine in PJ. It also does not only cost 6 sec but rather chatting, agreeing time, gather time, food, HQ crystal. And popping a shield also mean u cant do that again in next 60min (unless u have custome lined up which is unlikely, paid customer sometimes doesnt like to wait)

He's offering a PAID service. I don't care if it's an investment, unless you are physically buying and then crafting the ***, don't be a ***. I don't think that's somehow an insane argument given that multiple people in this thread all came to the same conclusion.

Asking people to tip you if they can = good.
Charging to have the privilege to use your shield = bad.

If you can't understand this, I suggest you should either shut up or walk into traffic.

1) Know someone with a shield
2) Pay someone to use their shield
3) Pay to have your own shield

P.S. Tipping sucks. No one likes tipping. That part of American culture needs to die and even suggesting that its acceptable (but not a fee, oh no!) is so braindead.

Also culture dependent - tipping is considered rude in Japan.

Tipping is just monetizing generosity. Same *** as the charities that mail you a nickel to make you feel guilty for not replying or the 'free' scout snack stands that say you can pay what you want.

Nothing wrong with generosity, but any system like that still results in nice people paying more to reduce what stingy people pay. The market would ensure people are paid a wage they'll accept regardless. So, all you're doing by tipping extra is ensuring that people who don't tip can continue to eat there at the same rates.

...Paying to craft is fine. A shield is a considerable time and gil sink to create. If everyone crafts for free, mats that are only intended for shield crafters become much more competitive because people who don't have shields feel comfortable buying them to have a friend synth. If the item isn't on AH, that's one thing. However, if it is, you're basically asking someone to give you the profitability of their shield because you don't want to pay fair market rate for it.

You're missing the point. Tipping when required is awful, I agree. Giving some gil to someone who is helping you for free is fine. Demanding it is not.

I guarantee you if you shout for someone to help you, you'll find someone. Skip this entire ***.

No one is demanding ***. You don't have to use the service.
