Mastery Rank Data

In 2025 those tells will get you banned faster than botting. The harassment or the bot accusation?
It's interesting that they always claim the kid is ~7, I suppose it's to sound plausible that he doesn't respond back although I'm pretty sure even if they couldn't read /tell messages at that age most kids would still react/interact somehow if you spam them /tells or directly try to interact with them.
But let's give him the benefit of the doubt and he's not supposed to talk with strangers; FFXI is rated T which afaik is 13+, why is his 7 year old playing?
Ban him for that and then send child protective services over just to be save he doesn't let the kid play Silent Hill f and screw him for life.

Those red hunting books related to NMs and Evoliths...
Do they confer any titles or have any impact on Mastery Rank?
Is anybody Rank 9 or higher without an ML50 yet?

Enjoy acquiring the "Venerated Adventurer" title for the first time from getting max points on Vana'Bout (can't miss day 0, right now) because the same 2-3 people multi-boxing keep going for max points on all their accounts the last 4 times even though they already got the title. (Not that there's any reason to weight this title more than any other title.)

I'm disappointed that I only have rank 6. Quests must really have a massive weighing on it. The only skill rank I don't have maxed is summoning magic.

Just wanted to share the obvious in case anyone hasn't realized it or if someone wants low-hanging objectives for Title chasers.
Doing Rank 1-10 missions in each Nation may or may not matter directly in Mastery Rank (I don't know for sure)...BUT buying Items for Rank1-9 for Each Nation Gate Guard does grant unique titles:

Do you have to nation swap for each?
Yes

Probably irrelevant in 2025, but you lose all your outpost warps too, are there are there any that don't have a book or some other warp? (i don't think, but I got them all after switching back years ago I do not want to lose them - even though I never use them).
Watch OP warps count more towards mastery rank than the titles from the CP purchase NPCs.
Gut feeling here: requiring you to do things multiple times (deleveling crafts, switching nations/race) to increase you bonus is just terrible game design (I'm sure for some of you cynics that's reason enough for SE to do that), probably wouldn't be an unreasonable question to ask them though if one can build up master rank by "undoing" prior work. (losing craft levels, conquest/nation status)
Wouldn't be shocked if the missions meant something, but wouldn't be surprised at all if just having 1 of the titles counts the same as having all of them, but it is {impossible to gauge}.

I believe they changed that switching allegiances causes you to lose your outpost warps. You also don't have to wait until Sunday. I swapped to Sandy then to Windy and then back to Bastok for titles this week in the span of about 15 minutes.

So you dont lose OP warps now? Cause as Windurst I have both Gustaburg and Ronfaure for over a decade ago and kinda like to know i have them... lame as that might sound
edit:
This might have answered my question:
Players may use the teleport service to teleport to any outpost for which they have completed a supply Mission, regardless of their current Nation of allegiance.

How many RoEs do you have done?
I was thinking I am hard-gated by Mentor RoE, but now betting it's some # of total RoEs done holding me back. Will update once I check titles and whatnot but I've done a fair amount of title hunting, and crafting (and RoEs associated) since last week, but my total # is still relatively low (<400).

ya I've seen no progress still on rank 7 where I started. I have leveled all my sub crafts to 70, taking advantage of the campaign. Unlocked mentor, did the titles from conquest items, now I'm finishing leveling all my jobs to 99 and probably do skill ups for a bit.
You'll know its not going well when I start doing monstrosity

Any HELM maps for Abyssea zones? Almost done with Harvesting RoEs but right now I'm running aimlessly in Abyssea since since I didn't see HELM maps on FFXIclopedia or BG for Abyssea areas.
Edit: I'll update positions as I go to help others until someone posts already-compiled information regarding Abyssea HELMs.
La Theine: Logging Points in Puks, Opo-opo and south of Tigers.
Tahrongi: Excavation Points west of turtles.
Attohwa: Excavation Points in Rift Dragons and Hounds.
Misareaux: Logging Points in Raptors, Damselflies, Flytraps, Observers, Clusters
Grauberg: Pugils
Guess they were in the same general area as their original counterpart. Just was running around aimlessly in La Theine at the start since I didn't see a HELM map for the original version of La Theine either.

If any Asurans care, I just killed Weeping Willow, ToD is 7:03 Eastern.
...why the hell they put 21-24 hour NMs on single RoE objectives, well, your guess is as good as mine.
It's not even the only one, because there's also Simurgh/Roc/King Arthro! And I guess Bloodtear Baldurf, though allegedly that one got updated to be more frequent in 2022, and Biast.
anyway yeah get your Lumber Jack RoE completion tomorrow morning if you want

I doubt they matter, but there are a couple of repeatable quests that change as you do them more, but don't ultimately reward another title.
* The Naming Game 10 times unlocks the 4th option.
* Finding Faults - You can get some of the answers wrong and still complete the quest
* The Art of War - You can get some of the answers wrong and still complete the quest
* Bait and Switch (6 times + Chameleon Capers unlocks another item)
* Targeting the Captain - Get all 3 chests
There may be more!

Oh right. The thing I actually came here to ask. This is kind of niche so I'm asking here rather than the Odyssey thread.
I'm trying to max Moogle Mastery in Sheol A/B/C.
It requires 16 Aurum Strongboxes opened and X of each NM killed in each zone (6 in A, 3 in B, 9 in C.)
I'm doing the A-B stuff solo and very lazily, cause it's way less segments and I don't care about the gil.
Which of these two is going to take longer?
1) Total NMs killed
Spawn rate is 1 per floor + can buy more with izzat when you kill Halos.
Total needed is 96 A NM kills and 81 B NM kills - ideally, I'd hit 16 Strongboxes right around those numbers to not need more total runs.
or
2) Aurum Strongbox appearance rates
(I go on THF so I can pick them open when they do show, because they count even if they're a Mimic)
This requires me to successfully open Chest -> Coffer and get Strongbox to appear. I am not gonna bother fighting a Mimic, even in A.
I am currently thinking that the latter is by far a bigger constraint, so I should spend my izzat there. Does that make sense?
Asura.Eiryl
By Asura.Eiryl 2025-11-21 11:53:47
NMs you know exactly how long it will take
Aurums are totally random. You could get 16 in a row or go 0/100
By LightningHelix 2025-11-21 11:59:23
Well, sure, but I can figure out an expected value if I know how common they are. Especially when NMs take multiple weeks and every day has multiple chest-picking attempts, the sample size starts to get big enough to be at least semi-close to EV.

Is this true? It's been a while since I did this, but I don't remember mimics counting towards total chest count.
Either way, the chests can take significantly longer than the NMs if you're just doing the THF lockpicking method. The spawn rate of the next level chests is much higher if you use izzat instead. My suggestion if doing this solo is to full-clear the first floor, and maybe a little bit of the next floor time-depending. Use the izzat you earned to open the chests/coffers on the first floor, and then try using a key on the aurum if it pops. After you've burnt through your izzat, use keys on any remaining chests hoping to get lucky.

The upgrade rate is way higher if you open with points than pop with a key, so the play is:
* Pop chests with keys until you've floored their cost
* Start farming 20 points and spending it to pop 2 coffers.
* Use keys on the coffers and hope for Aurum
* Hope the Aurum isn't a mimic
Alternatively, convince a few friends to do suboptimal segment farming runs with you and pop coffers with points to spawn aurums, then pop the aurum with a key.

Makes sense to me (and I have floored chests in all three areas already without actively trying) - thanks!

I've done a lot of stuff in game, so I'm not sure what exactly pushes me over, but I'll try to answer what I can.
- I have done a crafting shield (Bonecraft)
- I've done a lot of Monstrosity. I have every monster unlocked, and most of them to 99. All of my vermin are mostly level 60, with the diremite at 70, and the spriggan and DQ slime are also at 60. The rest are all 99.
- I have a lot of titles. The only ones I'm missing are the two newest Master Trials, the Besieged titles, the Ballista Royale titles, the *other* crafting shield titles, Matchmaker (I play a male character- I guess I can get that now with the race change service), and the completely unobtainable ones from the .DATs.
- I have all of the relics (though not all ilvl yet), all the aeonics, and several mythics / empyreans. The list on my profile page looks to be up to date. I also have one stage 5 prime weapon.
- I have one ML50 job, and 2 others in the 40s.
- I've done all of the ROEs, missions, quests, campaign ops, etc.
- I do have V25 clears in Odyssey.
If you only have 3 ML jobs, you can't have "all of the titles" since there are titles for every job. You really have all of the Ballista chevron titles, Mog Garden, Brown Magic, etc.? What is your chocobo digging level?

I only mentioned the number of jobs with notably-high (40+) MLs. I have some MLs put into all ~10-11 jobs I actually play. All 22 jobs are mastered, though, but about half of them are still ML0.
Quote: You really have all of the Ballista chevron titles, Mog Garden, Brown Magic, etc.?
Yes. Because the Ballista titles are annoying to re-obtain, I made sure to push them to my Guildwork profile. The titles are listed if you click on my name. I believe the garden and brown magic titles were pushed as well if you'd like to check. I have not gone around to each of the bards and pushed every one of my titles though, and only really started using Guildwork after I was well into collecting titles.
Quote: What is your chocobo digging level?
It's max. I used to do this a long time ago before I even had a lvl 99 job for gil.

Also want to do the same Yilbegan hunting as well if there's any interest.
For anyone that wants to share where they are with Mastery Rank and there stats on quest/missions/roe and so forth. Rank can be found in menu under Status>Profile.
Any data helps, but more data for people at rank 6 can help us find possible base requirements. Stats from other ranks also can find baselines for those as well. Obviously stats from people if they notice when they rank up will be extra useful.
Square Enix said: Mastery Rank is a numerical value representative your completion of missions, quest, and various other types on in-game content. The higher the rank, the more you have completed. Source
The "other types of in-game content" might be hardest to figure out. Apparently at the moment Rank 6 is the cap?
Master Rank 4 with:
Rank 10 only in one city
Zilart/CoP main missions + epilogues completed
ToA/WotG/SoA/RoV main missions completed
No Addons done
451 ROE completed
Max Fame in Bastok, Windy, Sandy, Norg, Jeuno and corresponding linked areas
Relic/Empyrean/Aeonic completed, no mythics
