The in-game description for Dragon Kick now in part reads "Delivers an eightfold attack." Testing confirms that it's still only twofold (same TP return as other twofold H2H WS).

If not reported yet, Gazu Bracelet and Gazu Bracelet +1 exists, but the icon shows two bracelets and it is dropped from UNM version of Cassie, who drops Aiming Bracelets.
All other Bracelets in the game are plural except Corse Bracelet, whose icon only shows a single Bracelet imo.

Arete del luna and (Arete del luna +1)
Read as: Resist Stun+15 and (Resist Stun+20)
Should read as: "Resist Stun"+15 and ("Resist Stun"+20)
All of the other resist traits on it have the quotation marks around them but it seems they missed them on the Stun part.

I don't know if we caught this one yet, but Sokushitsu sune-ate says "Kick Attacks+85" in the English version, which normally means that kick rate increases by 85%. However, the equipment actually gives Kick base damage +85, which would normally be "Kick Attacks" attack +85 in the English version.
The JP version has the correct description (same characters in the description as Shukuyu Sune-Ate) so this is a localization issue.

PUP empy head (Karagoz Capello and Karagoz Capello +1) have wrong spelling, as you can check from the previous Abyssea version.
It's written "Capello" whereas it should be "Cappello".
It's an italian word, like all the names for the 5 pieces of the PUP Empy armor set.
"Cappello" means "Hat" in italian.
"Capello" means "Hair" (single one).
Thought they fixed this long ago but I guess I was wrong, just noticed it!

If no one has reported it yet, the "belligerent bang" message is: "You hear a belligerent bang from one of the remaining treasure chest."
However, "chest" is obviously plural in this message and it should be: "You hear a belligerent bang from one of the remaining treasure chests."

Arc Shield should be Ark shield to match the other Ark items. Even the official website has it as Ark on the event announcement.
This was fixed pre-OP update.

One of V20 Bumba's possible minions is named Bumba's Cracklaw (should be Bumba's Craklaw).

We can act like Khoma Thread and Comaa Belt weren't two attempts to phonetically spell the same thing in English, but they probably were. Would be nice if they were consistent.

Not sure if this was mentioned (not going back to check :/)
Quanpur necklace says:
"Earth Magic Atk. Bonus" +5
Other elemental affinity+ pieces say [Element] Elemental Magic Atk. Bonus" (See Pixie hairpin +1, Perfervid Sword, Marin Staff/+1, Archon Ring)
Also, the "e" in elemental on Perfervid Sword is lower case (at least the one on BG wiki, someone who has it in-game can confirm), but upper case in all other instances above

I'm not sure if it's a localization error or an error in general, but in Nyzul Isle Investigations, if you click on an activated lamp in on a floor with the Same Time objective, it says something to tune of "All lamps have been activated, but something else is required to fulfill the objective", even if that's the only lamp active.
I'm guessing it's supposed to say this lamp instead of all lamps instead.

The purpose of this thread is to have a central location to report "Localization Errors", A.K.A. Typos, that exist in the English client of Final Fantasy XI. There is a localization subforum on the official forum, but given that many players are banned from the OF, we need somewhere else to report these.
As an example, the most common localization error are statistics that are missing from pieces of equipment on the English client, but are present in the Japanese client.
Please post a reply to this thread if there is an error in-game, especially on equipment statistics, that is not in the OP below. I will keep the OP up to date after verifying reports. Once we get a good sized list going, I will report them on the official forum as a community representative recommended to me. Maybe we will be surprised and they will keep an eye on this thread for us.
Last Update - Added January 19th, 2022
The base Mythic weapon obtainment quest (Forging a New Myth) starting cutscene refers to a particular NPC as both Zarafeehl (three times) and Zaragfeehl.
Thunderer's Mantle (ID: 16237) - Item short name (inventory name) is displayed as "Thunderer Mantle".
Inconsistent text between Orvail ring (ID: 27591) and Orvail ring +1 (ID: 26203) - The lines "Increases rate of synthesis success by %" and "Decreases likelihood of synthesis material loss +%" are swapped.
Quest: Trial by Ice - Gulmama in Northern Sandy says "The improved tuning fork was used by that rougue...?" for some reason, which should instead be "rogue"
If you speak to Coelestrox repeatedly while a +3 reforge is in progress, you will eventually be asked if you want to cancel the process. The resulting dialogue box contains a punctuation typo ("/" should be "." or possibly "!").
The title for killing Arebati has a typo:
Arepati Assaulter should be Arebati Assaulter
Ballista Marshall mentions there being chevron for each of the 20 jobs, run and geo also had them added so it should say 22 now
When doing the Rune Fencer AF quiz, Liement is spelled "Liemont".
When turning in Job Points for Oboro, on at least the Aeonic subitem, there's a space in front of Warrior.
There is a Unity (Shared F) objective (at least for Apururu) titled "Van. Vermin . Ph. Dmg. F (UC)" It's missing a "w"
Lynx Collar (ID: 2545)- item shortname is "Lynx collars", should be "Lynx collar".
Sandogasa +1 (ID: 23754) - There is no space between "{{Ice}}+10" and "{{Water}}+10"
Fire Crest Card (ID: 9764) - upon changing the name, the singular log name is now "fire crestcard" and it needs a space.
Omen's entry dialogue is messed up, but in writing this I understand why it slipped through QA. It's a bit complicated to explain and the finer details probably didn't make it to the localization team.
Omen uses a ticketing system, so each person that registers is given a ticket with a number on it sequentially. You might see a similar system in a store or DMV where you take a number and wait instead of standing in line.
However, when you try to enter Omen, it says:
"You are currently number X in line, with Y in front of you."
In this case, if you accept the dialogue choice you will receive the number X+1, so X is the last ticket someone took. The next ticket called will always be Y+1, so Y is the last ticket that entered. That's very confusing, because if you imagine it saying:
"You are currently number 460 in line, with 456 in front of you." it sounds like you have a very long wait ahead of you but actually only 5 tickets need to be called (457, 458, 459, 460, 461).
In meat counter terminology, this should be something more like.
"Last ticket was X. Now serving Y."
Previous Update - Added September 24th, 2021
Slipor Sash (ID: 10835) - Read as: Magic Def. Bonus+3 Magic damage taken -3%
Should read as: "Magic Def. Bonus"+3,Magic damage taken -3%
Founder's Greaves (ID: 28330) - Terror resistance +50 statistic should be Terror resistance +30. This is correct on the JP version.
Death Penalty (Level 119 III, ID: 21268) - Says "Aftermath: Increases Ranged Accuracy and Ranged Attack Occasionally attacks twice or thrice". Should say "Aftermath: Inc. Rng. Acc./Rng. Atk. Occ. deals double or triple damage". This is the only version of Death Penalty that has this incorrect wording on it.
Gastraphetes (Level 119 III, ID: 21266) - Says "Aftermath: Increases Ranged Accuracy and Ranged Attack". Should say "Aftermath: Inc. Rng. Acc./Rng. Atk. Occ. deals double or triple damage". This is the only version of Gastraphetes that has this incorrect wording on it.
Tardus Grup (ID:21423) - The name should be Tardus Grip.
Previous Update #2 - Added August 9th, 2021
Runeist Armor Set and Runeist Armor Set +1 - These items are named "Runeist".
Runeist Armor Set +2 and Runeist Armor Set +3 - these items are named "Runeist's".
Crepuscular Pebble (ID: 22300) - "Physical damage cap +3%" should read as "Physical damage limit +3%" for uniformity and to prevent confusion.
Crepuscular Earring (ID: 26117) - Missing the statistic "Ranged Accuracy+10", it is in the Japanese version and it was proven to have the statistic here.
Very important errors
The errors in this section should be addressed immediately. Some examples include statistics that do not match the Japanese client, names that do not match in a players inventory and in the log, and even pertinent information causing an item not to work if it is not known.

SHOULD BE
View contents of Mog Safe. Items can only be removed or stores when inside your Mog House.
Notably, Mog Safe/Mog Safe 2 are accessible via Nomad Moogle, but Storage is not, even though it says the exact same help text too.
Corrosive Ooze pet ability from the pet Generous Arthur says in the tooltip that the move deals fire damage when it is very clearly water damage.
Misleading objective text in Omen:
"Vanquish X foes." should be "Vanquish Sweetwater foes X times."
"Perform X skillchains using weaponskills on your foes." should be "Perform X consecutive skillchains using weaponskills on your foes."
"Reduce your foe's HP by at least 15000 using a single magic attack without performing a magic burst." requires clarification that pet abilities don't count, though I don't have a good suggestion on wording (maybe "using magic" as an analog to "using weaponskills"?).
On the second floor of Omen, the Ethereal Ingress gives the somewhat confusing options to "Go into the light" or "Go into the smaller light", the latter heading toward the figuratively "bigger" boss as well as a literally larger floor. This is a somewhat subtle mistranslation. The name of the smaller light in Japanese is 詰みの光, and while 「詰」 can indeed mean "compressed", "compact", "pressured", and the like, in this case it clearly carries the word's other common meaning of "checkmate", as all Omen bosses are named after shogi pieces and Ou is the king. Thus, the "smaller light" should in fact be named the "checkmate light", which would be far less confusing and error-prone.
The help text for the Afterglow status effect contains the word "effect." twice.
Numbing Noise pet ability from the pet Suspicious Alice says in the tooltip that the move deals damage when it only inflicts Stun effect.
Predatory Glare pet ability from the pet Tiger Familiar, Saber Siravarde, and Blackbeard Randy says in the tooltip that the move deals damage when it only inflicts Stun effect. (These should probably say "Duration varies with TP.")
Wild Carrot pet ability from the pet Hare Familiar, Keeneared Steffi, Lucky Lulush, Droopy Dortwin, and Pondering Peter says in the tooltip that the move deals damage when it only restores HP. To be consistent with WS descriptions (like Dagan), it should read as "Amount restored varies with TP."
Crossthrash pet ability from the pet Tiger Familiar, Saber Siravarde, and Blackbeard Randy says in the tooltip that "Damage varies with TP" even though damage is the same at all TP amounts.
Mega Scissors pet ability from the pet Porter Crab Familiar and Jovial Edwin says in the tooltip that "Damage varies with TP" even though damage is the same at all TP amounts.
Hoof Volley pet ability from the pet Hippogryph Familiar and Daring Roland says in the tooltip that "Damage varies with TP" even though damage is the same at all TP amounts.
On the Sheol Gaol Check Status page, most of the NMs are set up like:
(name): Veng.: (level) RP: (RP)
However, Arebati lacks a space after RP:

Blade: Shun's description should be attack varies with TP.
Shattersoul's description should be chance of magic def. down effect varies with TP. The English description says it's 3 hit and the JP I think says it's 4 hit.
Having more than 1000 RoE completed overflows the space available in the RoE window. This error is present WITHOUT .DAT mods too.

The menu for purchasing ISNM KI's from the NPC Shajaf has typos. It says the following:

It should read "3000 IS: Level 75 offer", which would be an abbreviation for Imperial Standing.
The title for killing Arebati has a typo:
Arepati Assaulter should be Arebati Assaulter
Inconsistency Errors
The following errors exist across pieces or "sets" of armor. Examples include naming inconsistencies, and especially different item description inconsistencies. These should be fixed for English player's convenience and to alleviate confusion.
Armor Inconsistency
Armor Names
Armor Descriptions
Inconsistent text between Orvail ring (ID: 27591) and Orvail ring +1 (ID: 26203) - The lines "Increases rate of synthesis success by %" and "Decreases likelihood of synthesis material loss +%" are swapped.
Sandogasa +1 (ID: 23754) - There is no space between "{{Ice}}+10" and "{{Water}}+10"
"Trick Attack +" statistic switches back and forth between "Trick Attack" damage +X and "Trick Attack"+X.
All of the below items should be switched to "Trick Attack"+X for consistency:
*Pillager's Armlets (ID: 27948)
*Pillager's Armlets +1 (ID: 27969)
*Pillager's Armlets +2 (ID: 23179)

Epona's Ring (ID: 11651) and Ambuscade Ring (ID: 10782)
Neither ring has quotes around Double Attack. They should both read as "Double Attack".
Staunch Tathlum/+1 (ID: 22278 & 22279)
Reads as "Spellcasting interruption", all other gear that gives this stat is "Spell interruption".
Summoner Ammo Pieces:
Convocaller (ID: 21387) and Dashavatara Sachet (ID: 21388) - Description says "Avatar Lv." when all other similar items have a colon: "Avatar: Lv."
Sancus sachet (ID: 21394) and Sancus Sachet +1 (ID: 21395) - Description says "Avatar: Lv119" when the majority of other items are written with a "." and a space: "Avatar: Lv. 119"
Epitaph (ID: 21432) - Description says "Avatar: Lv.119", should read "Avatar: Lv. 119" for uniformity.
Nyame Armor Set:
Nyame Gauntlets (ID: 23775) - No space is between "Magic Atk. Bonus" and the "+30". Most other items, including the other pieces of the set have it.
Nyame Gauntlets (ID: 23775) - Evasion is abbreviated as Eva. for physical and magical evasion, but the rest of the set (except feet) does not abbreviate Evasion.
Nyame Flanchard (ID: 23782) - There is a space between "Attack" and "+30", other items do not have a space between these.
Nyame Helm (ID: 23761) - The "Pet: Accuracy" stat does not abbreviate "Accuracy" to "Acc.", like the other pieces of the set.
Nyame Sollerets (ID: 23789) - Evasion is abbreviated as Eva. for physical and magical evasion, but the rest of the set (except hands) does not abbreviate Evasion.
Nyame Sollerets (ID: 23789) - States "Magic Accracy+40", typo should be Magic Accuracy+40
The job ability "Cover" has multiple wording variations across JA/Menus/equipment that enhance the ability:
Uses: "Cover"+X

Uses: "Cover" duration +X

Uses: かばう+X (Google translate: Cover+X)
(21641) Save the Queen III

Slipor Sash (ID: 10835) Read as: Magic Def. Bonus+3 Magic damage taken -3%

Weapon Inconsistency
Weapon Descriptions
Terpsichore Lv80 (ID: 19078) - "Augment Steps II" This also appears to be an issue in the Japanese client too.
The "Augment Steps II" statistic does nothing more compared to the "Augment Steps" statistic on the Level 75 version of the weapon, so there is no "II" rank of the effect.
Terpsichore Lv85 (ID: 19098) - "Augment Steps III" This also appears to be an issue in the Japanese client too.
The "Augment Steps III" statistic does nothing more compared to the "Augment Steps" statistic on the Level 75 version of the weapon, so there is no "III" rank of the effect.
Terpsichore Lv90 & Lv95 (ID: 19630, 19728) - "Augment Steps IV" This also appears to be an issue in the Japanese client too.
The "Augment Steps IV" statistic does nothing more compared to the "Augment Steps" statistic on the Level 75 version of the weapon, so there is no "IV" rank of the effect.
Terpsichore Lv99, Lv99 II, Lv119, Lv 119 II, Lv 119 III (ID: 19837, 19966, 20557, 20558, 20584) - "Augment Steps V" This also appears to be an issue in the Japanese client too.

The game shows "Lu. Scale Box" (ID: 6590) & "Lu. Hide Box" (ID: 6591) for Odyssey Scales and Hides, but the wings are listed as "L. Wing Box" (ID: 6592)
The short name "Tr. Gr. Coffer." (ID:6292) for Tryl-Wuj's grand coffer has an erroneous trailing period.
Ethereal Droplet (ID: 9202)
The name in the log shows "a" when it should be "an": "a ethereal droplet"
Dialogue Tables
Quests
When doing the Rune Fencer AF quiz, Liement is spelled "Liemont".
When turning in Job Points for Oboro, on at least the Aeonic subitem, there's a space in front of Warrior.
There is a Unity (Shared F) objective (at least for Apururu) titled "Van. Vermin . Ph. Dmg. F (UC)" It's missing a "w"
Battle Log
When you fight the Goblin NM in Odyssey Sheol B, Tripix, the log appends "the" before his name and and his adds' names, despite his name being a proper beastman name.
"Geriond defeats the Tripix."
"Geriond defeats the Tripix's Goblin."
The Sheol B status report lists "Maverick_Maude" instead of "Maverick Maude" for that NM's kill count.
Digest pet ability from the pet Slime Familiar and Sultry Patrice is misspelled in the chatlog as "Digset".
Issues with Arebati from Odyssey:
- Upon victory, the RP message refers to the NM as "Arebtai".
- The title/designation earned for victory is "Arepati Assaulter"
Corrected Errors are in the Spoiler tag below.

Caliber Ring (ID: 26164)

Short Name typo - The item short name contains an extra space between the word "Somen" and "+2".
Inconsistency - Dancer Feet Artifact/Relic/Empyrean across multiple versions
Although many were fixed in the October 2020 Version Update, we still have some issues with the naming of Toe Shoes. Below are the errors that need to be fixed to have consistency in naming all of the items be "Toe Shoes":
For the two below items, the S in shoes should be capitalized for the Short Name that displays in players inventory.
Maculele Toe shoes +1 (ID: 27448)

"bowl of oden +2"
it should be
"bowls of oden +1"
Inconsistency - WHM Bodies: Briault vs Briauld
All AF and Relic uses "Briault" They fixed a lot of the "Briault/Bliaud vs Bliaut" discrepancy as of the June 2021 update, but more exist and should be changed to Bliaut for consistency:
Clr. Briault -1 (ID: 2044) - Name and description is briault
Cy.Abjuration: Bd. (ID: 9126) - description reads "vexed briault"
Torsoshard: WHM (ID: 9590) - description reads briault
Voidtorso: WHM (ID: 9612) - description reads briault
"Briault" is not an actual word. The English word is "bliaut" or "bliaud", but no R anywhere: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bliaut

The EX cards used in the Escutcheon questline that can be turned into Spheres have the exact same name as the Corsair elemental cards for Quick Draw. This is confusing and should be changed. The Japanese client has them named "Element Crest Card" ("紋 のカード").

Fire Card 9764, Ice Card 9765, Wind Card 9766, Earth Card 9767, Lightning Card 9768, Water Card 9769, Light Card 9770, Dark Card 9771
The Lightning Card does not share a name (COR card is Thunder Card), but the others do. It would be wonderful if they can have the word "Crest" or "Emblem" placed in their names.
