Something I thought would fit well in this thread. I don't believe everything stated in this picture, but I think there are some good ideas in it.

Humanity. This thread cheered me up after I read today's newspaper and learned that a 15-year old girl in California was beaten and raped for two hours outside her high school on prom night by 4 or 5 men while over a dozen people stood around laughing and taking pictures on their cell phones. I was sickened and ashamed to be part of a race that would do something so awful.

Then I came home from my own school, saw this thread on the front page, and looked through it. It made me realize that there are good people in the world, and that not everyone is like that poor girl's torturers. I wish we could all make such a difference. Thanks for this thread.

Glad you liked the thread Liela. I too saw that news story and was sickened by it. The important thing is not to lose hope in ourselves Even in that circumstance there were people who did the right thing and contacted the authorities.

Eh keep in mind there are over 6 billion people on this planet. Not just the 30-40 you see everyday and the 1000-3000 you see on the streets if you live in a city :P.

+If humanity sucks, take a larger sample size for a more accurate conclusion :P.

Im not sure if anyone else remembers the One World phenomenon a few years ago in which one user dared his viewers to "be a part of something." 2,000 people replied with their own video clips, and he stringed a bunch of the best ones to make this video. Of course you have a few Negative Nancy's who say it's melodramatic, but it's personally one of my favorite videos. And on the internet, where anonymity breeds asshattery, it's nice that some corners of it are still beautiful.



Anyways, what a wonderful thread. It's nice to see, especially in a community such as this one where we all (myself included) can sometimes get so negative over something as silly as online equipment.
