Final Fantasy Women of Canon
Freehugs said: » Ovelia is also a great woman in FF. She's so much more than a weak princess who needs protection. ![]() Surely though, she has likely the most tragic story out of any woman in FF because of that. Even when the whole shitstorm is over, she has zero trust in anything around her anymore, which manifests itself in quite the poignant scene at the end of FFT. Aerith gets speared thru the gut and chokes on her own blood just to save Cloud and her less important friends
There's also Rosa who goes from being the castle healer to a combat cleric just to protect her man. Now thats a legend I'd go with Beatrix, one eyed cuties are my soft spot.

Now thats a legend As far as Aerith goes, both canon (On the Way to a Smile) and non-canon (The Maiden who Travels the Planet) novellas suggest that, after her death, she basically has the ability to exert her will onto the Lifestream without dissolving into it. The entire planet may have been screwed without her influence during the Meteor fall and/or the events of Advent Children. Freehugs said: » Ovelia is also a great woman in FF. She's alleged to be a fake princess (the story never confirms or denies this) and she's entirely powerless throughout the entire story. Plus, she's covered from head-to-toe. Next. Celes Chere FFVI , great balance of magic/physical dmg , could wield epic weapons, Runic Blade could absorb incoming magic and convert to mp, amazing storyline including opera scene, World of Ruin savior, and love interest with Locke. All around a complete character. And her song kicks azz.
YouTube Video Placeholder I think the entire series has done a great job showing different kinds of 'strength' from its heroines.
People have already mentioned Celes. Tifa is physically powerful and is a pivotal anchor for Cloud, especially later in the story. Rinoa... eh, never liked her. Very naive, incompetent and unable to do much by herself. Quistis was her polar opposite and came across as a better character. Garnet started off like Rinoa but unlike Rinoa she actually developed as a person, eventually taking on a direct leadership role in ruling a kingdom she was not meant to inherit and rebuilding it. Yuna's a bit of a doormat at times but it takes a lot of conviction to keep going on a long journey in the knowledge that you will die at the end of it. She grew out of her passiveness in X-2. I like Lilisette always smilling while doing stupid things.
Arciela comes from the princess-like role. She is gentler than all princess-waifus but not my thing rich-girls. Nashmeira isnt as interesting as Arciela, Iroha is too uptight to be a waifu, Lion, please change this shitty yellow dress and fix this damn hair. From the original series, i guess i like Aeris and Tifa the most, one on the gentle side, the other in the suportive side.
Below FFVII i cant say much, cant synphatize on 8~16 bits pixels despite their good story. Penelo from FFXII was a good one but that story got so messed half way that both she and Vaan werent more than a FFXII trusts. I have yet to play FFXIII and FFXV. Maybe someday. Faris FF5 = Pirate Captain, tamed and kept a giant sea serpent as a pet, survived the void.

Sad thing about FFT is that when a char becames fully playable, its because their role in the story was reduced to near zero importance.
Sucks too early Agrias, Mustadio, etc just stopping participating in the story. I believe Vagrant Story (Another classic that needs one too) was set in the same universe Freehugs said: » At least Mustadio and his pops had role near the end of the game with the Cloud optional quest. I think they were also involved in the Construct 9 side quest? Its been so long. ![]() This is the most distasteful like ever bestowed to a comment and I am outraged lmao |
