Trump doesn't rule the world bro, Germany has more problems than worrying about America. Your tinpot EU union is about to go belly up and most EU nations are hating on mamma Germany for doing nothing to help them at all. I'm anti Trump because he stands out. Among all the retards in politics across the world, all the corruption; he is stands out exceptionally. And by relationship, the idiots who support him. Also, I'm not pro-Merkel. But she's a good comparison to use. How does one judge Trump? you need a measure of parity. Germany is a 1st world economic power. What has that got to do with the EU and the other problems? Did someone say "EU>US"? dafuq with this thinking... All Trump supporters seem to able to do is go off on never ending tangents and derail. Offline

That's the hope. but maybe it is pointless. At this point they should have realized what an incompetent president they have. If they haven't, pointless indeed. Offline

By the way, I know the republicans are usually more hawkish than the democrats.
What do the Trump supporters think the implications of how the US executive branch has handled this, from a national security standpoint? I can tell you from a logistics and supply chain perspective, it shows very low capability. I wonder what the intelligence and security apparatus of other countries think of this... The emperor's clothes. In America we reward incompetence.

Good thing its really up to the states. You know what per capita is right? This is like being surprised a country with 100 people has less cases than a country with 60 million. The country with the biggest population will have more cases than smaller nations (china that is lying) Also, near 50% of all cases are in new york alone. Bahamut.Ravael said: » kireek said: » Point is, per capita the US is not the first nation. Here is an upto date one: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/coronavirus/ RCP is such a good site. For people who like infographics, though, here's one from the 8th: The confirmed case fatality rate is also pretty low when compared to other countries with high per capita cases (namely Spain, Italy, Belgium, and France). As a professional courtesy I should note that I never take any data at face value, and I'm very curious to know what the major causes of the discrepancies are within each country. But hey, it's interesting data to say the least. Edit: typing on phone quoting the wrong person, dont feel like fixing it. Asura.Vienner said: » dont feel like fixing it We are now number one in deaths too!!!
Quote: US has the most coronavirus-related deaths in the world From CNN's Chuck Johnston The United States surpassed Italy on Saturday morning with the most reported deaths of any nation. The United States is now reporting at least 18,860 coronavirus deaths, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University. Italy is reporting 18,849 coronavirus deaths, according to the university. But don't worry, both countries are underreporting both cases and deaths. And I say fie on your per capita BS. If Trump tries to open the country up on May day we will surely pass anyone's per capita mark. WE CAN DO IT!!! Odinz said: » Check the testing per capita. also without a timeline, that is nothing more than a snapshot of the moment. Yeah, which is why I said, "I never take data at face value." I was sharing it for funsies. Maybe if you're going to call people idiots you could learn reading comprehension first. Odinz said: » US might share same fate as Amaurot. Trump is Emet Selch. ok let's stop layering politics on top of everything for just a half second.
NONE of this can be observed or critiqued in a vacuum. Italy got hit so relatively hard based on population due to it having the oldest population in Europe combined with some of the highest population densities on the continent. Lotsa old people living close to one another. New York State has the 2nd highest population of a single state in the United States and is THE primary entry point for people in this country. We'd be foolish not to try and give them every resource possible- its like sending your best guards to the gate when being attacked by an enemy- stop 'em before they reach the townsfolk. Its not about political leanings that they get stuff...its the freakin smart thing to do. In terms of response quality in various states/countries, there have been good and bad examples all across the entire political spectrum. Its not a political trend of which system/party wants people to live and which wants people to die. Not to mention, if you're still acting childish enough to think there really are two different groups and not just two sides of the same counterfeit coin, then wake up and realize none of them care about you, so you better care about yourself and yours. kireek said: » One of the reasons the US has to imo get its economy going again asap is because whether Americans like it or not, their nation acts as the protector / backup for all other western and third world nations. Basically it acts like the rich parent, always there to bail them out when things get bad (militarily, financially, medically, manufactured items). There are large numbers of nations contacting the US, begging for help with ventilators, advice and protective gear. When things go bad, they rely on the US to help them because that's the last line. You can say "haha America sucks now" or "Trump sucks" or whatever but that doesn't change anything because whether you or even they like it or not, there is no alternative. The USA is the USA no matter who is in charge. If the US cannot fulfill this role then the world will look to another nation that can do it, that nation will be China and/or Russia (or both together). If that actually does happen then the US will lose all prestige and influence with other nations forever after (not just during Trump) and China / Russia will take that role. It will be all down hill from there for the US if all nations of the world are reliant and beholden on China and not the US. People have this mindset that the world is a sweet loving place, in reality there is a very real power struggle going on and if the US loses it your quality of life will nosedive very fast and probably never recover. Sorry, that position is China nowadays ever since Trump got the seat and face slapped everyone. US is like this lone loser who think himself as great and doesn't play with anyone more. The last 4 months just showed how important China is to the whole world economy. China isn't playing rich daddy, they are playing rich boss. They are like the boss you hate but can't quit your job because you need that paycheck. If you actually go any of those countries China got they hands on you will know. I been to South Asia 2019, the vibe was just wrong. Everyone hated China but they kept silent because they need the money. They are like prostitute trying to charm the ugly rich bum. Leviathan.Draugo

If you think that a race with China for the world's dominant nation 50 years from now isn't already lost, let me turn your attention to The Moon.

At what cost though? Does an economy still flourish if people continue to become hospitalized? Of all the COVID 19 cases in the US 51,802 are listed as "closed". 30,502 people survived, 20,580 died. 40% of the closed cases are dead. We still have 433K more cases to go/ Should we no longer do social distancing and start with an economy > health and safety philosophy, that percentage will not go down. As you see more hospitals become overran with cases, the death rate will increase as doctors will have to make a choice as to who will receive what. Quote: This is also why you will 100% see the US not only demanding US companies move out of China after this but putting pressure on other nations to do the same. In which China can also offer incentives and the US can stand to lose more than it gains. Bulldoging your way through the world isn't the safest bet. The US does have the strongest military force in the world at present, however, we lack a Congress willing to use it. Trying to strongarm our way through to maintain an economic powerhouse will not be as effective as you're hoping for. Asura.Vienner

You'll have to make the consumer more aware about civil rights, proetection of employees on the workloor, fair wage, fair hours. The NSA isnt holy either, neither is the lobbying from corps buying their way into a government, nor are US companies stealing the lazy internetusers online ID. I feel in that regard being in Europe, although Europe isnt that grand either, but as a person yourself and your rights are better protected.
How boring it may sound, if you want to change the world start with yourself and do some background searching about all the products and services you consume on a daily basis and determine what you find important. (Personally i think Trump just wants people back at work cause a lot of people lost their job and they also lost their healthinsurance) Anyone have an estimate when we can go back to normal?
I'd estimate by May, already in NY they are saying the rates are going down for things.
