And yes, they will ban him, SE goes hard in the paint on martyrs, just by telling them about a problem you ban yourself.

ok well if you scroll the thread or were here yesterday new friend people kept saying they would reveal how after it was fixed

if its not going to be made public its a good indication that the "fix" is just temporary and the concept of the exploit could still be applied in a slightly altered version in the future.

if you mean by the player base, the "???" was just now removed, and its early it litterally just happened.

if you mean by SE, they never say how anything was broken

those who banked on the exploit ofc. if there is still the chance they can bank again with the same exploit in the future they still have good interest in keeping it secret.

I don't know the exact details but I already told you how it likely worked.
You were trading 2x Cards in 2 different slots to the Aurix's ???.
Through packets manipulation you were making Aurix believe one of those slots had 99 cards and not just 1.
Result? You get 1 medal for 2 cards instead of 100.

Rinse & Repeat until you have 2000 Medals.
You didn't even have to do this boring process manually, there was no action/click required from the players's side, you just had to activate the addon and he would do everything pretty fast.
Kinda like the old addon to receive Shields from Sparks automatically from the AMAN NPC.


This "cheat" has likely been out for a long time, but it's only recently that it became widespread, to the point everyone started noticing it, SE included and, unsurprisingly, some action was taken. Or is currently being taken, see it the way you like, the result is the same.

such a different tune you're playing now, from crying for 16+ pages now about how SE won't act for potentially weeks-months.

no idea why so many of you like to cause hysteria about something you've never experienced.

equating this to salvage bans just goes to prove people that have no experience in this area should not be throwing out their conjectures on it.

If I'm not mistaken, thats what happened with the Salvage bans. They discovered the issue and patched it in Salvage, but later found it worked in Nyzul Isle Assault, so they had to fix that as well.

They wont touch a single person who bought medals.

They will/have to likely ban "taru", and that's it.
(*)Special case for aquatic, I doubt it, but maybe, just because of the stolen billion.
(**)They could go "full retard" but then they have to ban basically every single one of you for buying dupped su5 gear.

It's been explain, you say to server I want this and you get that.

The Taru with 8k Medals in Port Jeuno is still online.

it be a extremly sad testament on SE if they don't ban at least every account connected to the same payment/adress info that utilized the exploit.

hay guiz its been said over and over that it will be shown how to when its patched. also like i said i was suspended shortly after they poped for buying hundreds so take caution, but it could of been for something else, i have no idea why since this is pretty normal to me.

I think you're talking out of your *** at this point with no real actual insight as to what they're going to do.

They can't and shouldn't.

What if you live with your parents and your brother is a bloody hacker and both of you use the same address/payment information?
Should you get banned because your brother is a hacker?

As unlikely as that may be, it is *possible* and a Company will never ban someone because of reasons like that.
Either they find clear proof (according to their standards of what is or isn't a proof) or they will never ban you.

I think this is also the reason why in the past people with multiple accounts that all used the same cheats/payment info/etc had only some accounts and not all permabanned.
In those situations it's probably a matter of a lucky coincidence (or human error from the people who check logs/data) that didn't make them find same proof for that specific account.

Most of the time they used automated systems which have very limited accuracy.
And then they refine those rough results with a varying accuracy human checks.

They like money, and none of you will even remember this happened a month from now. Expect absolutely zero bans, and be shocked if you get a dozen.

They can't rollback and they can't erase every single duped item, so they simply won't even try.

I suspect they'll do a bit more than that. They'll probably go through the backlogs and find all the people who performed the dupe and ban them. There's nothing they can do about all the SU5 weapons or AF +2 necks that have sold, and they can't penalize people who bought duped medals before this got out since they had no way of knowing their origin. But they might very well search for people who stockpiled a trove of medals on mules in the past 24 hours and remove their inventory.

wouldn't it be great if SE fixes this by making medals a vendor-buyable item

They're banning thousands of accounts every month. So once again, you're talking out of your ***.
