Did UK block vpns too?
Since so far you can make alliances in Limus, I assume it will be up to 18 players too (obviously same drop rate, would take longer to get 18 people the segments, etc. but can still take armies of mules). Unless they make it instanced and 6 chars only.
Why are people jumping to such wild and, imo, improbable speculation of AF+5 and multiple sets per zone?
I feel like it’s more likely there are just two new sets, the pictured ones. One from Apollyon, one from Temenos, and these are the new Homam and Nashira. Mayyyyybe one more set per zone (the Enif/Murzim of new Limbus, if you will) for a total of four. Upgrades/augments on each set, likely related to Ultima and Omega. Maybe multiple paths like Nyame gear? Since they’re targeting a lot more solo accessibility these days, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ultima/Omega work kind of like Domain Invasion or the job based Limbus NMs, and contributing players get some sort of points to spend on upgrades. The new Shared Dynamis instances and recent Besieged revamps also kinda feel to me like testing for content open to anyone on the server. Same reason people are already expecting a new expansion based on the latest stream where they mentioned moving away from ps2 devkits and will (?) be able to make new assets and areas.
It's hope/copium. It's hope/copium. So you think there is ZERO chance of SE releasing a new expansion for FFXI with their mention of "new zones"? Obviously I can't say zero, I don't work for SE.
I just don't see it being realistic. At best I think we can get something like RoV. Maybe we have all different takes on what a expansion means. When I think of an expansion I'm thinking CoP, ToAU, Wings, SoA which includes brand new areas, content, jobs or new abilities, spells etc. Post Limbus they said they'll be doing some trust changes.
The new armor is definitely a reskin of the old Ultima/Omega armor. MelioraXI said: » Obviously I can't say zero, I don't work for SE. I just don't see it being realistic. Chemist actually exists in FFXI. (If only in trust form as Monbereaux, but still exists.) I think it would be a neat addition to the healer line-up of jobs as we don't have many pure healers. A 2-handed hammer job might be neat as well, whether it be a tank or a DD, maybe we could call it Colossus? Honestly I think it might be better as a tank-type job if they could do something unique with it. A third option for tank job might kind of neat. (you can prove this by bringing him to Ambuscade this month and getting Hammered into next week, lmao) Quetzalcoatl.Wakmidget said: » A 2-handed hammer job might be neat as well, whether it be a tank or a DD, maybe we could call it Colossus? In lore, both gladiators and Vikings exist, but were never used. [sar]Confirmed expansion to the Moon. Spacesuits from Limbus will be required and finishing the missions will unlock rank10. [/sar]
Dodik said: » Post Limbus they said they'll be doing some trust changes. Specifically, what they've told us is coming next is Ultima and Omega in December. Final Besieged update in January, including new gear from the besieged accolades. Nothing stated for February at the moment. And the first part of the Trust update in March. The second part of the trust update apparently has no set date yet as they are still discussing what kind of update it'll be apparently. The part we are getting in March though will be some kind of "class" upgrades that we do by feeding them RP we get by logging in (they're quite taken with getting daily login metrics up) and doing stuff in game. No AI changes. That might be what they are discussing for the second part. The trust icons lay out that the "classes" are tanks, melee dds, ranged dds, magic dds, healers, support, and the geo bubble trusts. So they system they'll be adding will boost all trusts in one of those groups as you pump whatever parameter it'll be up with RP. My guess is tanks will have options like enmity+ and -dt. Melee dds will have stuff like haste and acc, ranged dds, snapshot and racc, magic dds, fast cast and macc. Healers would have stuff like fast cast and cure potency, support would hopefully have buff duration up. As for the geo bubble trusts, they're so limited, I'm not sure what they can have other than buff boosts/bubble size. If they haven't even hinted at an expansion, they aren't going to surprise drop one now. If it was fully funded, they'd use it for marketing. They likely have no plans to do an expansion.
You're still getting new major NMs in Limbus; it's likely they'll drop high-end gear and make the content more interesting. They probably will not drop more than 1-2 sets each; there's also no guarantee +5s will be in this patch or even come out at all. Set expectations fairly and you might get a positive surprise. I still keep an optimistic attitude that one day SE will surprise me and add Chemist to the game as a playeable healer job. I’m the “glass is half full” type.

My friends dad works for SE Best chance of an expansion you all will be getting is a 3rd round of add-on expansions. Everyone loved those, right?
they're major because they're Omega and Ultima
like, those are recurring FF-staples and were previously the final bosses of this exact content before it was redone yes they're just reskins, but it's "major" rather than "here's some Fomor or whatever" LightningHelix said: » they're major because they're Omega and Ultima like, those are recurring FF-staples and were previously the final bosses of this exact content before it was redone yes they're just reskins, but it's "major" rather than "here's some Fomor or whatever" Reskins = not major, didn't you know? It's not like the V25s changed the game in any meaningful way... I dont want an expansion that takes two years to release.
Also the paid expansions were ok. They all offered useful end rewards, some with unique stats. The 1% drop rate on fetch quest can go *** itself considering its content the entire server was hunting. Kaffy said: » TVR isn't an expansion, but quality is barely a step above any of those 3 add-on scenarios, and tried to do a lot of the same things. The writers who worked on tVR btw is the same writers for CoP. The problem with tVR wasn't a lack of talent, it was a lack of budget. I liked tVR a lot, but it's much more of a 'lore enthusiast's expansion'. We got a ton of info on the silent years following the meltdown, an account of one of the Yagudo wars, info on the ancient civilizations on Aradjiah, an explanation for the source and purpose of the Shadow Lord, some interesting lore on Odin, some info on beastmen societies, a brief explanation on the Astral Plane, etc. The list goes on. It feels like they wanted to elaborate on some of lore barely touched on throughout the game, but didn't have the budget to facilitate the confidence to dedicate a full mini expansion to any one topic of lore (obviously this would be the case, they couldn't add any real zones to the game). So, they touched on a different area in each chapter instead. BTW, I don't see a new mini expansion coming out, not anytime soon anyway. But if one were announced, I wouldn't automatically write it off either. How much of that opinion is tied to the lofty expectations SE set about the TVR endgame content that they failed to deliver on though? Something about a huge valhalla battlefield or whatever it was, instead we got boring *** Sortie.
