Trying to think of what hasn't been redone a time or three already, what do you have in mind?

An ilvl rework of Belligerency without the encumbrance penalty would be fun.

Maybe not daily content fun, but as a Peach Power type of bonus activity I could see it being well received.

It doesn't matter if it's been done once, twice or 400 times. If there's a shiney toy in the bottom of the box, green light it.

It was a colossal shift in the underlying nature of the game, and it is the reason why linkshells are pretty much purely social now, DKP is gone,

I mean you're say the quiet part out loud. Event LSs that required DKP for people to be willing to help others became extinct. I'm not saying 75 bad and abyssea era good, but all of my LSs after abyssea came out were people you liked spending time with that you helped because you wanted to. Just think about all the dyna LSs that the leader got their weapon and then just ditched or waited till their in game girl friend got theirs too and then suddenly evaporated. It's not like there weren't good ls during 75 or bad ones after abyssea, you just left bad ones because you hadn't gone through all the hoops and points you wanted to get something out of.

It was definitely a marked difference.

As far as VW went, you got together with your LS to do runs for people that didn't have the clears or didn't have amazing jobs even if there were no plates or cinder/dross for everyone.

I don't get the obsession with Limbus, its been redone like 5 times already. There are a lot of other content they could do this update treatment to.

Trying to think of what hasn't been redone a time or three already, what do you have in mind?

I'm hoping we get ilvl Campaign that gets higher level the closer you get to the throne room and the extra battlefields. You could get all kinds of alliances out there and if they make it extremely challenging in the last zones and the battlefield pretty tough, you could see some community building go on. Wishful thinking and pipe dreams for sure, but I'd hope that they make it a good place to farm EP. Just give an incentive to group up and bring more people and suddenly you fill lots of zones that don't get used normally that people can actually get use out of.

Plus old beastmen look cool. They can make campaign WSs real for all jobs and great for farming EP even if they are only exceptional during campaign. Again wishful thinking.

Nyzul v3, mmm more will come to mind.

But really limbus, done to death.

MMM and Meebles are just assault v2 / v2.1

It's fine to just do the same thing over like always, its better than nothing.

Limbus didn't even get a full rework, it got 2 one floor levels and 2 bosses, 5 of the 6 pre boss rewards were sidegrade or junk and nothing was added to ABC rewards

Ultimately you can compare almost any content and say "X is just Y but with these minor differences". The fact is there are only so many permutations of "kill enemies, interact with objects, accumulate currencies, get drops"

I think any new content, shiny toys at the bottom or not, will see some play from the players who already have it all.

Personally, I'd much rather see new content over ilvl-ing of old content. People are obsessed with flexing their "I used to run a _____ linkshell" muscles and talking about how awesome the content of the past was. There are a lot of people with nostalgia goggles on when talking about past content.

For me, I'd say the past content is a mixed bag of content from awful dogshit all the way to really engaging, interesting, and challenging.

That said, for the most part we've already done that content, so doing the exact same thing over again doesn't appeal to me as much as doing something new.

I'm sure there are differences in the amount of time it takes to create new content vs to rehash old, but even if we get half as much content, I'd still rather see half as much new stuff than twice as much old ***upscaled to ilvl.

w/r/t alliance vs party, I've already given my opinion a million times in other threads but I think, setting mercs completely aside (we don't have them on Carbuncle, IDGAF about mercs), alliance content is inherently imbalanced with the populations we have right now. You can't make it hard enough that it requires 18 people because nobody knows 18 adults who can pass the mirror fogging test, so you ultimately end up with content that's piss-easy because they can't make it challenging or nobody could do it. OTOH, if they do make it difficult enough that you need 18 actual humans with real gear, paying attention, it will be impossible for anyone to clear.

Maybe we need something like that to get players to come back. We could beg all our friends who quit recently to come back to the game and help us beat this new absurdly difficult alliance content. Do it SE, I dare you.

Since the content they do remake stays relatively faithful to the original, I'm going to assume Limbus will be alliance content. Where it falls on the difficulty spectrum is anyone's guess.

If you consider Sortie as Vagary 2.0 then that isn't 100% true

I think we haven't had a 1 to 1 copy of garrison although one could argue that campaign Is kind of a modernised rehash of it I guess. Didn't play the orginal meebles much but I think it's the only one which hasn't had a similar copy sofar, hope if they ever make one they leave out the inventory clutter.

Abyssea never got a 119 version either imho, although I remember devs discribing escha zones as "abyssea done right". VW had no remake either even if some argue unity is VW 2.0. Both had a trigger mechanic that encouraged teamplay which is not realy present in their remakes.

VW is probably the only rehashed alliance contant that has a chance to still work in 2024.

Alluvian Skirmish is for all intents and purposes, garrison

UNM is VWNM, alliance, unlimited force pops

Unity just like escha is mostly missing the proc system which was a core aspect of both VW and abyssea so I think the comparison doesn't fly.

Damn near every UNM has a proc. They're not cast this spell or use this ability, but procs nonetheless

Pretty much all of them are "if you hit it really hard, in the face, you'll proc it" lol

And yeah yeah, no temps. The mobs aren't hard enough to need them. There's no douchebag dropping aoe doom every 3 seconds.

That's true, but I think the core idea behind VW and abyssea proc systems was inclusion of otherwise not optimal jobs. The procs also greatly increased drop chances which afaik isn't the case in any later proc systems.

A word of advice, those are NOT blankets, unless they're cat blankets. That's a rug.

650 mm x 900 mm is 2 foot by 3 foot

Hmm, thanks for that. 2 foot by 3 foot is also flag size. Rug, towel, or flag lol. But not a blanket even though it's labelled blanket.

Just a bit less crude than windurst toilet paper.

I usually find your feed back overly negative, but I agree on this one.

The size on the page is in mm for some weird reason, I don't see why it would be cm, but that sad it is a ~2 foot x ~3 foot blanket pretty small and disappointing when my initial reaction was "omg I want it" now it is "I wish it was 4x6 the it would be worth getting."
