I don't care about Dynamis-D being daily for the gil, because gil is largely irrelevant in FFXI after a certain point. I'm more excited about being able to finish an R25 Dynamis neck/weapon in a few days as opposed to the 2+ week time it could take for me to cap one or both items on a particular job. That might motivate some people to pick up a few weapons and start doing Dynamis again with friends. The change also benefits people who need dynamis clears for Relic +2/+3 gear. You now have essentially the same speed to upgrade Relic as you could Empyrean to +3 (assuming galli and mats), which is a nice "catch up" mechanic.
Idk, not everything needs to be looked at in terms of gil. I guess if you have nothing else better to do but farm endless amounts of gil, sure, have at it. I'm more impressed that this makes progress easier for the bottom part of the population. There's no reason Dynamis-d should be a 60-hour lockout anyways. edit - couple people on last page said same thing as me, but i typed and submitted before checking back xD Wow! Any lowering of the Dynamis D entry time is welcome. I have two groups in my LS that go at different times, but players like myself cannot join both as it currently stands. Having more freedom for events like this is awesome and long overdue.

The biggest improvement I see it having is being able to go in for 30-60 min at a time instead of having to commit 2 hours, and not feeling like you burned a run. Welcomed change.

You can already use gil to R25 these things though. Dear adventurers!
We're pleased to announce a change to the Dynamis Divergence entry system. Starting in November we'll be adding a new key item that reduces the cooldown timer to 24 hours! Visit Ruspix to purchase it for 5,000,000 Galli. NOW GET BACK TO SORTIE, YOU SCRUBS! I wouldn't get too excited about the Dynamis-D change. They're just adding a Ruspix plate type item that will store time you can redeem later on. We're not going in daily.

It does says adjustment, not reduction, so you're probably right. Daily D is not meant to be.
It'd be interesting if they had dynamic cooldown.
Like, you didn't do any sortie today, 10 hours off your dynamis cooldown. You haven't done omen today, 10 more hours off cooldown. You'd be compensated with content you "like" by skipping content you don't. But they're not creative enough to figure that out. The only thing it can really mean is it's becoming a daily or something like enter any 2 times per conquest week. back to back if you want etc, reset on sunday. (The ONLY reason I even joke about/mention it as a daily is because it's the dumbest thing they can do... Which means that's what they're going to do) Offline

Just make it like omen Wonder what the updated mythic quest will be?
Lower Alex needed? Lower Ichor or NI points? Just the bc to get the required boss kills. Nothing to get your hopes up about.
All those things are "duties tasks and deeds" not, "an imperial heist" Bismarck.Snprphnx said: » Wonder what the updated mythic quest will be? Lower Alex needed? Lower Ichor or NI points? Hopefully they just remove entry requirements entirely or do something about the multiboxers *** the economy so normal crafters stand no chance because they have unlimited gil and buy all the mats even though they probably tossing medals or have 100's of stacks. Not that i really care about that anymore. Was hoping they would add a stack to ambu points or something.

On Carbuncle people who want mats buy them off the ah. If lots of people want them, the price goes up. If not many people want them, the price goes down. There aren't "multi boxers" with some mysterious advantage on the ah. Is there such little supply of medals that only those running dynamis can access them? Is it impossible to do dynamis with friends or linkshells, only solo multi box? Please explain your dystopia to us I looked at the AH history and tbh it looks exactly identical to Carbuncle. It seems...normal? Offline

You can't just buy medals here because RMT buy them all other servers its a mix of multiboxers, i could do it myself but feel like a looser. I don't want the gil but would be nice if other people stood a chance to make a weapon or neck signed.
How are they stopping you from buying medals? There are some listed on AH right now, why are you unable to buy them?
Someone has both Kindred and Beastmen in bazaar, you could buy those? Prices are pretty excellent, TBH. 500~550k for beastmen is decent, 1.2m for kindreds is excellent. At 40m/neck, you're most likely making a profit. Some necks (on Quetz) are 45m+ Your economy seems basically identical to Carbuncle and I've made a ton of profit at those medal prices/availability. Mrxi said: » cost 100m to make sells for less than 40m. You must not be tracking your materials very closely, or are doing something wrong. My average for SCH necks at these prices is <30m per +2, not even including any profits from the +1 necks made along the way. If you're paying 100m per neck, you're doing something VERY, VERY wrong. Are you attempting necks without an escutcheon or something? Are you not using the enchantment, if you have one? Not that i really care about that anymore. Was hoping they would add a stack to ambu points or something. You got it twisted. Multiboxers are selling the materials. I can assure you that nobody is spending 100m to craft an item to sell it for 40m. Why the hell would anyone ever do that? Do you think people are suppressing crafted item prices just to screw you over?
Even if they had infinite medals/delve mats, why would they bother crafting them to sell items at a loss? They might as well just sell the 100m in materials and make/retain more gil... The more I think about it, the more it sounds like "people with escutcheons are making a profit and I can't compete without one". I think "multiboxer" is a stand-in for "escutcheon crafter". That said, if that's the case then...nothing will change the ratios here. If prices drop in half, will you feel better about spending 50m on something that shield crafters can make for 20m? Offline

And I'm just an idiot right? Nah try crafting some time. Its been *** for years.
Mrxi said: » And I'm just an idiot right? Nah try crafting some time. Its been *** for years. I've been crafting for several years and not experienced whatever you're talking about. I've made literal billions of gil making and selling crafted items. How about instead of randomly attacking my personality you explain any of what you think is happening? People are buying 200m of medals, then turning them into 80m in necks and selling them? Crafting IS broken. It's because it's pointless without a shield and that's a rather large barrier to entry.
The amount of materials is irrelevant to that. More medals. Less medals. Meaningless either way to the 99% in terms of crafting. Asura.Eiryl said: » Crafting IS broken. Meaningless either way to the 99% in terms of crafting. Sure, but they're not removing the shields from the game so IDK how this will change the economics of HQ item synthesis at all. They made highly rewarding items with an extreme barrier to entry. This makes all synth mat and crafted item prices based on the shield costs, not the pre-shield costs. This will always be the case regardless of the availability of any material. If you're a non-shield crafter, you're going to be outcompeted by those with a shield, no matter what. Only that there is some justification to be mad about the situation.
It was a shitty thing to do. Completely destroyed an entire aspect of the game. Also made some NQ gear all but impossible to get. Doubly shitty. Even though it may seem silly to lifers there are people who need NQ gear. At no point did I say "new people" , really need to get that illiteracy straightened out. |
