I think we might be getting chest floors when we run ahead of schedule. Something like floor(expected time remaining/10) chests.

We got 3 chests post-Gin last night and had more than 30 minutes on the clock. We've gotten 1 chest post-Glassy, which makes sense because your max time to that point is 30 minutes.

idk, it's probably wrong but there's an idea.

Apparently at least one trigger is getting 666 Omens when you kill a mob. I dunno if that's the only thing, but it's something to keep an eye out for.

So if I'm getting that hint right, we need to kill a monster that gives us 666 Omens? Or do we kill mobs in an order where we need 666 Omens left after a kill?

So this chest floor is a puzzle that could potentially expedite card acquisition. That's really refreshing to know.

Edit: Also did anyone pay attention if objectives cleared add a specific amount of Omens? Or is that their own countdown?

We finished Kyou twice today with 20+ mins on the last run and 30+ mins on the first. No extra chest floors. Seems like it's just random.

Also RUN SP does not absorb Kyou's SP move. We tested it and our RUN died all the same.

Uhh, well, it sure did 0 damage to our RUN and I posted a SS to show it.

Was your RUN wearing Empyrean?

You sure your RUN wasn't wearing something that may have mitigated it? Does your RUN have JPs in Sforzo? If so, it should have absorbed the damage.

Looking at it, I guess it may have been a 0 HP absorb instead of a damage negation?

But even still the Sforzo JP's say it absorbs magic attacks, Sforzo negates them. Why would the absorb work if the negation does not?

Though guess the empyrean argument works. So my RUN rolled all the dice and proc'd that 2-4% absorb?

It's almost certainly an armor proc, as that's known to proc on things with the same mechanic (such as August).

Also confirming that RUN SP does not mitigate Kyou's special attack.

I really do just suggest that everybody gathers up at 1-2% above the threshold for each Bravado. With 8 bodies, you're only looking at 1250 damage, which is very manageable. Or just forsake the tank and laugh as they eat dirt. Both work pretty well.

Yeah, they're all pretty easy to tank for anyone with a good DT set aside from Angry Fu or some of those *** you moves, the latter of which you can control 100% of the time.

We run with one GEO so it's 7 bodies for ~1400 each and honestly just let the tank eat the attack, no real risk there and doesn't really slow you down. We're finishing that fight with 20~30 minutes remaining already and it's not like you can spam the event.

I still haven't done Fu. Do we know if it's specific buffs that trigger his rage/+DT mode, or just if he absorbs any or a certain amount? I'm probably blind, but I haven't seen as much information on him as I have the others.

I've had an instance where he only absorbed Shell and 3 songs and his auto attacks were doing ~900 to a SAM in a hybrid set. If he only absorbs Afflatus Solace then he does low damage (~300) and he takes extra damage. If he absorbs nothing then he does low damage (~250), he doesn't take extra damage and he gains a strong (~80%) intimidation rate.

When he use's his super move at every 25% HP (including the initial 100%) he will take ridiculous damage for awhile. He will also do insane amounts of damage during that period, at least double of what he normally does. We've done it with melee's and it's possible but messy, the Melee's should be BLUs so they can quickly reapply Haste / Magic Barrier / Barrier Tusk and put on DT sets whenever he's about to cast or do a TP move. I've done really silly stuff like 71K CDC's to 99K lights, but I've also seen my partner BLU get flattened by AoE magic spells.

Pets make him much easier because not only do they have more HP, but their masters can stand safely out of range and not worry about being debuffed and then spam Charge attacks during the damage window. If you can deal more then 25% HP (entirely doable) then he'll do it against shortly afterward, so you can burn him down this way.

We just have everyone move out of the way except our RUN tank, who uses Seigan right after. EA+Scherzo is enough to keep everyone safe from AoE and we like to throw out a Perfect Defense towards the end. If something goes wrong we usually kite until his damage resets and then it's easy to just hold him.

I've noticed he also seems to have a really long cast time on nukes and very high magic acc on spells in general. Like we're talkin Bolster Idris Vex not stopping Paralyze on anyone ever.

So went in a today and one counter said 670 omen before we went to 3rd floor. After doing 3rd floor boss we got taken to chest room and the option to open one chest. I remember a few days ago counter being around 600 as well and getting a free floor.

It's worth noting that unlike Kei, if you wipe and start from scratch, he WILL open with EN again. Having him steal Souleater at the start and having PLD pop Invincible and grab it is a novel way to quickly bring his HP down a huge chunk safely. Pretty useful for a recovery strat if something goes wrong and time is short.

Omen enemies, including these bosses, will not party aggro, so it's possible to abuse Souleater in some way using Twilight set or whatever. Easy enough to sacrifice a random person for DoT if you wipe, too.

Our group is pretty versatile so we just job change and configure ourselves to suite the fight we're going to. We'll never see something silly with a BRD and a SMN in the same setup.

Melee setups usually RUN/DRK + (WAR / DRK / DRG / SAM / BLU) x 2 + WHM + BRD + Idris GEO. Pet setups are usually PUP Tank + BST/SMN/PUP x2 + RDM + COR + GEO. Pets kinda configurable though, can fit in a second GEO if we needed. Mage setups are just Tank + GEO/BLM/SCH and so forth, though we want to try fitting in a COR next time for 3 step darkness MB's.

Scherzo itself would be fine, and even then it's not entirely necessary. We just do it 'cause we usually don't have a WHM.

The floor 5 glowball warp is identical for both leaving zone and going to a treasure chest room, so make sure nobody leaves until you actually end the run and zone out via the mark.

We've been doing different setups on Fu. We used to do it with me tanking on nin with minimal buffs up. Shell, haste and nin spells and I cancel everything and just leave shell on when it does the special tp move so it has at least one thing to remove from me. In this situation blade kamu with nagi was actually doing nice numbers compared to using heishi and doing ten and shun, both were doing crap damage.

But we've started using puppet to tank and just have a geo run in to get shell dispelled then have the war and sam go to town on it until the certain percentages.

We did Fu today with NIN BST GEO GEO and trust WHMs. Started off by pulling it towards us so that it would get as many buffs as possible. Quickly recast Utsusemi so we didn't get 1 shot. Then we did Bolster Wilt/Vex/Torpor/Frailty and I just spammed Shun whiled our BST used Unleashed and unloaded a lot of Pentapeck. 100k Light skillchains and the the like. It was dead before Bolster wore off.

Should be no different from any other strat, after nullification he takes massive damage, provided he nullified several buffs. If he doesn't nullify anything he gets some -DT and a powerful intimidation effect. We have our GEO stand in range and lose their buffs to trigger his +DT mode and then our SMN, PUP and BST ripped him apart. 99K Volt Strikes were funny to watch.

That's a pretty solid strat Saev, but I'm looking to 4-5box it and I'm used to MB. Just want to see if it takes the same dmg with physical and magical.

To add to this, I (the GEO) was doing GEO-Frailty, Indi-Torpor. I wasn't in any danger of dieing as I would switch to my MDT set anytime I saw an AoE nuke. The healer had no trouble healing me even while rotating through his other duties. To keep Fu's damage output to a survivable amount, I only had about 8 buffs on me: Protect, Shell, Haste, Refresh, Barspells x2, Stoneskin, Phalanx.
