Got Thinker again tonight, added Hagondes Hat (PDT-4% MDT-4%) and Lunette Ring +1 (DT-3%) to the 15% I had before. Damage taken was approximately 82.5% of what other players were taking.

So either the 4th category Proth's talking about exists and Pain Sync is in it, or the MDT augment ID doesn't contribute to BDT anymore.

My understanding is that it's only Dark Rings augment that applies to both and not always. I've never had an augment on Hagondes reduce breath damage and I have a full set loaded with PDT/MDT for idling in.

Back to checking on Balur then. Obviously it's not supposed to give you bonus BDT but as I said earlier SE has always been inconsistent with how they do stuff and often won't fix something until years later.

On our earlier run we used the rock in the left side of the room to make the Craver a lot easier to deal with. The constant draw in and knockback that it does was not an issue at all this way. Killed it a lot faster also since we didn't have to run back to it or deal with bind.

Friend Said that he did that NM with :
RNG GEO WAR PLD WHM BLM

They pulled NM to the Right Side (PLD WAR) as Rest of the party Stayed on the Left Side and they killed it.

Not sure if WAR used Tomahawk as my friend didn't pay attention to it, however, still pretty good Info :D

Hope this helps and that somebody comes with a nice Strategy to do ALL of them !!!!!!!

Glassy Craver:
Easiest to do. Pull to the rock and zerg it. When you pull hate just throw on a -dt set for impalement and continue zerging. I usually fan dance when I grab attention then click it off after Impalement's hate reset. We use Indi-wilt since everyone stays in the corner to counter the draw in and push back.

Glassy Gorger:
Not too difficult. Having a rdm or another job capable of dispel is incredibly helpful. Blessing Sync copies all buffs of everyone in range so you only want to buff what is needed. I usually let it copy aggressor and Berserk to make it easier to deal damage to it (and we have an Epeolatry run so berserk doesn't do much of anything to him).

Glassy Thinker:
Annoying... You can easily wipe to bad timing. Pain Sync deals damage to everyone equal to the amount dealt to it when charging Pain Sync. Turn when using weaponskills or disengage if you are in animation lock and turn when tping to avoid hitting it during Pain Sync. It's really easy as long as you can do that. We have not tried it yet but SMN's Earthen Armor may be a way to deal with it.

[Mod Edit: Removed post - AnnaMolly]

I have to laugh at this for one reason only: This happened to me - but with the other SMN earring (Below). I'm a career SMN (also) so believe me when I say my heart sunk deep.

At the end of the day though, it's a piece of virtual pixel and mistakes do happen. You'll have another shot at the earring.

I don't know who you went with when this happen but as much as it sucks, I have to take a guess that the party leader didn't do this intentionally. Chances are he/she is going to feel bad about this happening for a while (regardless of solace from the rest of the party - excluding you).

Confirming this. Got my first Thinker kill in last night, I turned but my COR did not, which wiped us. Was slowly nuking it down a little on my GEO while most of us were weak and a nuke got off during Pain Sync, killed the other mages, but I was standing at max casting range, so my GEO survived, lol.

we had our WHM and GEO at 25 yalms and they got 1 shot so not 100% sure why, can hate be an element on this equation ?

I honestly think the range is 25 or so. Just run in on geo and brd and whatever job when you need a heal or buff. Keep migwargi up and go to town lol

The thing about this is you can't really plan your strategy around any of the specific mid bosses alone since it's completely random. You can take NIN but you might not even get the Thinker. Can NIN survive the damage from the other Promyvion NM's? What about the mega bosses? Can NIN viably tank those? (Serious question, btw)

YouTube Video Placeholder

We beat Kyou yesterday as GEO (Idris), RUN, DRK (RMEA AG), WHM, RNG, COR. We tried to avoid his special move at 25% with the RUN 1hr's, but they wore before we could get it to 25%. The RUN had no problem tanking otherwise. If I had my dream setup, I would go with: GEO, GEO, DD, DD, COR, WHM and gather in front of the mob with a bubble every 25% to avoid deaths.

For bubbles in the run I had to do Torpor/Vex so the COR and RNG could consistantly hit him. This considerably hurt our damage output after 75%. You can see in the video for the first 25% I used BoG Frailty/Indi-Torpor and the DRK was pulling 20k WS, but the WHM was having trouble keeping curse off the melees and topped off. So I had to switch to Vex/Frailty. Then around 70% the melee couldn't hit, so I dropped Frailty for Torpor. This put WS damage down to 3~6k. With two GEOs you could do Frailty/Fury/Torpor/Vex and allow two DDs to wreck it. A DD RUN or NIN might work good in place of one of the DDs if your DDs are concerned about tanking. Or replace the COR with a tank.

Enjoy the video. All credit to Asura.Bloodlusty.
