P&R Election Day 2016 Special

Asura.Saevel said: » Stop and think about it, how many of the posters here have made derisive and / or negative comments about rural Americans, otherwise known as "white people without a degree". See poor disenfranchised black / hispanic people tend to live in the inner cities while poor disenfranchised white people tend to live in rural areas. It's taboo to make a negative remark about uneducated black inner city males but it's perfectly acceptable, even encouraged, to make negative remarks about uneducated white rural males. Well congratulations you just helped get Trump elected. Trump didn't need to spend a ton of money because liberal elitists were doing all the work for him. Part of what I had written in my poofed post. That door swings both ways though. The rural poor and the urban poor have sooooooo much in common, but people focus on their differences and can't see the forest through the trees. I'll pick on rednecks -- or, at least, some specific redneck tropes -- it's true. Because it's "safe" for me to do so because I am one. I'm pretty sure that when you own guns and a pickup truck and at least a little bit of camo clothing that you wear unironically, you're either at least a little bit redneck or you're really, really good at disguising yourself among them... It has everything to do with the election you nincompoop! You were the one espousing these very same things about the election before the election! I was doing what with the huh now?
Shiva.Nikolce said: » I was doing what with the huh now? I just remember about a month back you going on some big rant making the same points Saev is making now, basically how much people underestimating how much rural folks are pissed off at being treated like ***by just about everybody. Asura.Saevel said: » Trump won by energizing and motivating the rural population where are you getting this from? 59,438,335 people voted for donald trump 2016 60,933,504 people voted for Mittens Romney 2012 that's = 1,485,169 fewer voters Ramyrez said: » Shiva.Nikolce said: » I was doing what with the huh now? I have been saying turnout would suck and I was right. I bet my account on it..... Ramyrez said: » Shiva.Nikolce said: » I was doing what with the huh now? If Mittens' voters were all scattered willy nilly throughout suburbia while rural folks stayed home because they didn't get home from work until 6:00 and *** if they're going out and burning gas again for the day just to vote for someone who's going to lose anyhow... Whereas here, I mean. Look at Pennsylvania. Hillary won Pittsburgh and Philly and that's it. She didn't even win Erie for ***'s sake. She got beat in my count by a 2:1 margin and in my home county by a 9:1 margin. Someone done pissed off the rural folk good and proper. Trump won cause people hated Clinton, and too many Mosins liked Gary.

Thank you for showing me how to make P+R topics appear on the main page, I was sitting there yesterday thinking only a handful of people were talking about the election result in the Random Thoughts thread.

I made the mistake of going on Facebook it makes this place look like downright civil in comparison. Now I remember why I swore off Facebook in an election year.
The amount of doom and gloom from women it's like a Huff Post women's article but far far worse. Offline

Stephen Colbert is still on the air ? The four people that watch him must be big fans.
