Military Parade - A DD Bard Guide
Shneddick Ring all day.
Slowforever said: » does everyone have boots / legs in their speed idle set? Is there any scenario chocobo knife could reign supreme? We all want it to...but sadly no.... The Chocobo Knife doesn't even allow you to run at Chocobo speed (even Flee would have been nice, Hippomenes Socks/+1, Shijo, Chicken Knife). There is nothing unique about that dagger besides the fact that it looks like a chicken, which there's already a lvl 1 variant of, so even that's whatever. +18% movement speed is obtained by most jobs without a Shneddick Ring too. That dagger is truly a failure, they could have done more with it.
Even if Chocobo knife was good, it doesn't really help the situation.
Carmine legs take care of Rdm, Pld, Drk, Rng, Drg, Blu, Cor and Run. JSE with 18%: Thf, Brd, Rng, Geo. Dnc is the only Chocobo Knife job that doesn't appear to have a better movement speed option. The thought of dropping AM3 or TP for it is disgusting. I don't include Kupo Suit, which yes has 18% and is all jobs but being a bonanza item, is not reasonable and you're dropping several Ilvl slots to wear even if it was something you could just go get anytime. Nin has that 25% but that is only dusk to dawn. So, 11/22, a full half of jobs, are left in the dust. War, Mnk, Whm, Blm, Bst, Sam, Nin(daytime), Smn, Pup, Dnc(without choco knife) and Sch. Sorry, that turned into a rant. So many jobs are stuck with non-ilvl, 12% items which is a double fail. If I missed any 18% items for any of those jobs feel free to let me know. Dropping am3 for sub changes is a mistake.

Gets skadi feet+1, its not ilvl but is 18% Nariont said: » Gets skadi feet+1, its not ilvl but is 18% That bumps Bst and Dnc off my list of jobs without 18%, though then puts it on the non ilvl list. If I didn't have Shneddick, I'd still be willing to drop that ilvl slot for the 18% but it would hurt. Perhaps SE will put some 18% on those jobs AF upgrades. So, to update War, Mnk, Whm, Blm, Bst(18% but non-iLvl), Sam, Nin(25%night 12% non-ilvl day), Smn, Pup, Dnc(non-iLvl) and Sch. This makes Chocobo Knife even more worthless. /Hurray Why are SE obsessed with not letting us have above 18% in armor?
Ragnarok.Sekundes said: » This makes Chocobo Knife even more worthless. /Hurray Especially so because chocobo knife can't be used by any job that doesn't already have 18%. hey guys, been scrolling throug the pages, and nowhere as far as i could find, is there a set for Mordent Rime, now i KNOW savage blade naegling beats it, but i still wanna build a set for the rare occurance i need it
anyone able to share their gearset for it ? Anyone got an updated lullaby set/ horde set?
Is the miracle cheer worth getting for sleeps? Read the text, it's party members only.
Is durdabla or blurred harp +1 the better choice for horde lullaby
Options for Lullaby with String Instruments include:
Blurred Harp +1 - This instrument has "All Songs +2" AND Lullaby +2, resulting in the same strength sleeps as Gjallarhorn. Blurred Harp - Same as above, but only grants "All Songs +1", so slightly less duration and accuracy as +1. Daurdabla - +30% Duration, no Lullaby+ statistic, but a large chunk of String Skill. More details there: https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Obamiwannabuffya:_A_Bard_Guide_by_Funkworkz#Midcast_-_Lullaby This guide has a lot of very good information but I think it talks back-and-forth about single-target and Horde sleeps too much which can be confusing.
For Single-target sleeps: Gjallarhorn For Horde 1: Blurred Harp+1 For Horde 2: Daurdabla (and also be aware of the tier you can reach) Daurdabla is fine for Horde 1 as well, but it will have a slightly shorter duration (10% of base). The sets on the right-hand side of that guide are also SUPER useful. Essentially it boils down to priorities: Get to the highest string skill tier you can, then fill the rest with your best duration & Macc gear possible. It's a bit of a Tetris puzzle but can be a lot of fun to mess with. It changes as you go up in ML. I wasn't sure where to post this but
ML50 subjob whm vs sch Assuming the loss of the occasional curaga is ok and I think the big loss is Looking at cure bombs for a single target mostly What can produce the higher cures? With light weather and without? Looks like sch might be able to produce them a little faster? Which has larger mp pool? My napkin math looks like sch might be able to cure higher and that doesn't sound right outloud Fenrir.Jinxs said: » ML50 subjob whm vs sch Nin Fenrir.Jinxs said: » I wasn't sure where to post this but ML50 subjob whm vs sch Assuming the loss of the occasional curaga is ok and I think the big loss is Looking at cure bombs for a single target mostly What can produce the higher cures? My napkin math looks like sch might be able to cure higher and that doesn't sound right outloud SCH gives a large boost in healing magic by bumping you up to B rank and has the same single target cures iirc while also providing its own light storm. So if the comparison is strictly which cures single targets better, /SCH no contest SCH subjob also means you lose access to Haste spell. If I'm focusing on support as BRD, it's nice to be able to solely handle capping everyone's magic haste with a single March + Haste spell when using SV.
Higher skill, higher cures, native conserve mp.
Did not catch the haste loss that's a big one. Currently fighting with Koru moru on what a cor wants at the time. I was originally struggling with giving up auspice, but this just got harder. Could swap koru out for arc1. Wouldnt really count CMP1 as much of a help, sublimation is more the appeal and if you got refresh 2 it also isnt a factor, which just leaves -10% cost on spells under their respective arts
Really though a trust whm is gonna do more for ya then a brd/whm imo I don't think conserve mp is likely to matter all that much when you can give yourself 30 mp/tick in ballads, tbh. I would be surprised/impressed if you managed to run oomp on brd/whm or brd/sch

I've gotten through Shinryu VD with brd/whm cures alone as all the trusts die on spot at the start. BRD can be very tanky as I usually have a couple of adds from Cloud of Darkness, the aquaveil set comes in really handy. I just tested brd/sch and the healing dumps alone are hundreds of points higher. Shame I had to wait for KL for cure4 to try it. Does anyone have any tips for a Savage Blade set before I'm able to access Nyame augments? I've got a wsd ambu cape and Bihu chest but it's hard finding other worthwhile pieces.
As far as I remember, I was using 5/5 Bihu pre-nyame just because of the raw attack it provides as well as the okay strength, if you don't wanna spend the money on that though just going unaugmented nyame is probably fine given it still provides alright offensives stats as well as DT
Rank 15 Nyame (which you can get with a v0 clear) is a fantastic start and potentially reasonable to obtain.
Prior to that, yes I recall Bihu being the way for the high attack. You can also get lucky with WSD with DM augments on Chironic gear. |
