Lol You can use it to purchase Memory crystals from the main menu. There's a button on the top-right which lets you do that Quetzalcoatl.Wakmidget said: » I just saw something weird. Recently I have been feeling the same way I did when I was playing Final Fantasy Grandmasters. I am happy to have quit that game before long. The main reason was that everything in the game was done by stacking berserk and using a multihit skill. FFRK basically forces me to Retaliate+Advance everything. I am sticking around mainly for the nostalgia factor which is big for an FF fan such as myself, but the day I would be fed up of this redundency and quit FFRK as well might not be very far away...

You definitely don't need Advance+Retaliate to complete these dungeons. I don't even think it's the optimal strategy all the time. Here's what I run around where the global version is at today: Cecil for mental/power break Cloud for spellblades or offensive options Tifa for power/def break or offensive options Selphie for cures / shellga Aeris for cures / protect roaming warrior should be a party-wide attack buff Today, I run: Ramza with Scream/Yell (*** OP as ***, party-wide haste and attack buff) SSB-- uses full break/high mental break Cloud with Fenrir Drive BSSB - usually power/def break Bartz with Ragnarok BSSB - offensive or spellblades or thief stuff Selphie for cures / shellga Aeris for cures / protectga ^ can replace a healer for Tyro if you want grimoire roaming warrior doesn't matter, since literally I never have to use it unless I'm doing the lv140-160 event dungeons, for which I use grimoire or AoE cures. and I'm currently achieving 100% master clears on almost all event dungeons. Sometimes I have to make adjustments, but the above almost always gets me through. the point is, the advance+retaliate meta is not the only way to be successful in this game. My specific strat relies on specific soul breaks, but there are a number of winning configurations that you can find for yourself. On that token, Ramza is hands down the best character in the entire game, it's absurd. Absolutely try to get his relic weapons when he comes out. I'm not even kidding, use all your mithril for that.
I was kinda losing motivation back in time, but the Ultimate fights plus my change from retaliate to a SB oriented party (even a mage party against Rubicante) pumped my interest back again. ExDeath was very nice.
Though right now, after getting used to SB strategy and clearing with not much trouble the previous Ultimate fights, I see myself already looking forward when DeNa will rise the mob lv again. Also, though its a nocive taste, I still enjoy seeing the shiny relics and wondering if I can get them. Im really looking foward to next SSB celebration. As I wont be doing any massive pull till them, my party will remain the same for some time, and thats kinda boring. Got me a...
3 star whip... Life is grand... The music the the dugeon select screen of the Yuffie event is SOOOOOOO nostalgic!!! Doo doo doo ~ Doo doo ~ Doo doo doo doo doo doo!!
Don't forget to accept the FF7 Bonus quests from the home page to unlock other FF7 characters~

You honestly don't need to use Retal for anything except maybe 1 or 2 fights if you are undergeared. I have completed everything so far and used retaliate a total of once. Mage meta worked for me from the start and I still use it, although I am attempting to figure out melee setups. think I am going to hold off spending Mythril on another FFVII event. I have like, 5 or 6 FFVII RS weapons already.
Do you guys have the same issue with Yuffie's theme that I do? Every time I hear it I gotta bob my head to the beat. =D

Quote: that's kinda what I am thinking, mostly because FFT is a favorite of mine. good lord, I just wanted him because Tactics, but hot damn that sounds nice. I'm just happy the all-time greatest FF protagonist is getting his time in the spot light.
Spending Mythril in the Lightning event in hopes of a last minute Peacemaker. Then I'll continue spending Mythril on the Yosgiyuki banner. I'll probably spend Mythril in the XII event just because of the weapon type distribution. Bow/Gun/2xMageSword/Katana is a pretty nice spread. And then again in the Cloud BSSB event. Everything is meh to me until the Tactics event. Hmm wondering if I wanna bother trying with the 7 relics(I know Idc at all about the 13 banner). I might skip this one too for something else later..maybe..hopefully..
edit: I like Tifa though <.< Every banner I skip, my chance to be happy during celebration banner increases, thats my motto.
But if you dont have synergy for FF7, go for it, as FF7 is the realm with more number of events in FFRK. But if you do, just skip, those 2 banner are awful, featuring chars that dont really shine in FFRK (Reno, Cid, Barret, Yuffie, Tifa). I don't really care, I just want relics for the characters I like the most(which is why I'm still mad I missed Terra's ._.).
And I'll have you know Turk Light is p damn strong! Pantafernando said: » Every banner I skip, my chance to be happy during celebration banner increases, thats my motto. Wutai Headband and Yoshiyuki are exceptional relics. Clear Tranquil is still considered to be the best AoE heal SB in the game aside from perhaps Sketch: Lakshimi, and Yoshiyuki is not only a monster of a katana in terms of stats but also happens to belong to who is still the strongest physical attacker in the game with a devastating Sap inflicting SSB. Platinum Fist is also rather extraordinary if you haven't got Planet Protector or Caltrop Bomb (+35% attack for the entire party and this fist has the highest base damage of any relic in the game atm). Barret's gun arm is also worthy of mention: if you don't have any other Support relics like Diamond Pin or Vegas, the gun arm supplies an enormous -50% DEF and RES to the target. It makes him worth using as a support if you havent got any better support oriented relics. Telescopic Rod and Precious Watch aren't bad either. Yuffie and Tifa are definitely useful characters if you pull their relics (Tifa can equip some nice damage abilities now that her ability selection isn't total ***, Yuffie can make remarkable use of Ninja Scrolls in addition to coming out as one of the best options for Thief Raid. This is before considering her next relic as well which isn't too far off and makes Yuffie an exceptional support character without even being able to equip Support abilities). Would pull a few times if you're lacking in good support/healer relics and then save for FFT and Lucky Banners at this point Asura.Failaras said: » Bahamut.Vinedrius said: » Recently I have been feeling the same way I did when I was playing Final Fantasy Grandmasters. Mage meta worked for me from the start and I still use it, although I am attempting to figure out melee setups. So I can mage meta everything instead of reta meta everything (minus the exceptions once in a while). That doesn't sound much different to me... As a 100% ftp player, reta meta is the way to go for me for 99+ stuff which are the only thing that really matters at this point. I am not saying I have to use reta meta to win every single step in a realm or event. I think FFRK is really flexible about strategy. The only thing that really cant be overlooked is mitigation. Once you can put your mitigation up, you can beat content with any setup: mage meta, retaliate, SB spam or all of them mixed. And, IMO, SB spam > retaliate > mage meta when looking only to pure dps. Though the cost for that should be retaliate (cheapest) < mage meta (huge cost for orbs) < SB spam (huge cost for relics).
As time passes, even a free player can get the relics to spam SB. IMO, the only relic that is a must to get is SG or SSII. Once you get it, its pretty much ok to start pursuing SSB or BSSB relics, and I dont really think its that much hard to get a couple of high lv relic as we get better banners, celebrations banners and a not so small amount of mythrils, just requires a bit of patience and planning. About the mobs, I believe DeNa isnt slacking off regarding to hardest foe. Every new lv increase, the lastest boss gets progressivelly complex AI. For example, I just read about the strategy for Abyss CPU, in the jp version, and its impressible how it works, how you need to beat in order to win (3 phases, each having to time the kills adds to happen before countdown and not long of each other). The game keeps becoming challenging so it wont be always stacking everything = win all. Though, I can see FFRK being boring everytime we clear a Ultimate challenge and catch up content. Like me, today, expending entire day just grinding orbs, like I did yesterday and like I will do tomorrow (friday I will do Yuffies event).
Thats the biggest flaw im FFRK imo, that all you can do aside event/dungeons is farming orbs, which becomes a pain in short time, with such crap drop rate and not being a shiny upgrade, just more a QoL upgrade. I find it hard to justify spending orbs on the veil line of spells when they use the already overtaxed power orbs and you need magical weapons / char relics to make it work.
Thief's Raid will be win, Steal -line boosts double as precious mitigation but NIN is just so confusing right now. I am not saying I have to use reta meta to win every single step in a realm or event. So what do you actually want to do? It sounds like you just don't like the game, not that the meta is the cause. You can use whatever kind of team you want for most content. Quote: These banners are pretty awesome, especially for newcomers. Wutai Headband and Yoshiyuki are exceptional relics. I don't think the banners are very stand out, and considering we are going to have some really stand out banners in a few events it's probably not worth pulling. I'd for sure pull if Wutai and Platinum were on the same banner, but they aren't. Banner 1: Platinum Fist is a really good Boost item but is on a character who isn't level 80 and who has pretty limited skillsets. Yoshiyuki is obviously a good weapon since it's SSB, but is probably one of the weakest SSB weapons because Sepiroth kinda blows and Katanas aren't considered good weapons compared to the other SSB weapons which are mostly swords. Banner 2: Wutai is obviously the best item of the two banners because instant-medica. It might take some interesting team building to use but certainly is good. Assault Gun is a good item but is very limited due to being only usable by 2 characters. Compared to: Banner 2 of the next event is stacked. Faithga from Garnet, good SB weapon for Zidane, Hastega, and doublecast meteor stick for Vivi. After Beatrix, you have one event that is pretty eh and just mainly has a Penello medica, then 3 hastega events in a row, followed by BSSB, Ramza, and all sorts of fun things. Someone on reddit made this to see when the next important items come up: |
