Oh look, it's Abyssea, but it's not!
Maybe it'll have a DEX +50 Crit rate +30% Crit Damage +30% Vorseal!
Looks interesting... depends on how their loot system is structured. Abyssea was actually good content, the proc system was baised, which I think is a result of SE not thinking it all the way through, but otherwise very solid gameplay. The atmas and crour buffs were too powerful which resulted in them needing to do stupid things for the NM's, which just resulted in us brewing everything. So as long as there isn't any obscenely powerful buffs, nor any corresponding obscenely broken NMs (en-doom / petrify / curse sh!t), then it should be fun content.
By Asura.Shiraiyuki 2015-05-11 06:50:00
I know, but going by its description it's eerily similar to Abyssea.
It could be a lot of fun, we'll see.
Personally I'm somewhat hoping for sellable drops, would be nice to get a new gil source for that final alex stretch since current sources have been drying out a little.

Almost the same design as Abyssea, but with different names... Better than nothing I guess. At least we can be sure that it won't be as mind numbing as most skirmishes.

Quote: Greetings,
During the emergency maintenance that is currently underway, we will be making adjustments to the difficulty of the Behemoth event. Apologies for any inconveniences you experienced while trying to complete the event.

Quote: I’m happy to hear that everyone is enjoying Rhapsodies of Vana’diel and the nice bonuses it yields!
The special key items that were added in the May version update for the first chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel are specifically for content up to level 75 and their high-tier counterparts. However, with the subsequent chapters of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, we will be introducing even more key items, which will be for Voidwatch and other post-level 75 content. We hope you are looking forward to earning them!

Quote: Hello everyone,
Apologies for the bump, but I have some information to share on this topic.
We’ve been noticing that there is definitely a bias towards particular coalitions, and we are looking into making some type of adjustment to ease this. However, simply adding rewards or modifying the values for coalition rank increases could result in the same issue repeating itself in the future, so instead, we would like to look into a new system where coalition ranks can be increased and maintained by a smaller number of players.
We’ll keep you posted on any developments!

Quote: The latest version update increased the stats under the item level environment. Adventuring Fellows are created in a unique way, therefore, a lot of work would be required to apply adjustments to them. We’re currently prioritizing development resources on Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, so we can’t promise we will make adjustments to Fellows; however, we’ll look into this request if time allows.
Quote: There are currently no plans for adding Records of Eminence objectives for Adventuring Fellows, but we’ll consider looking into this request.

Quote: Hi there!
The development team is currently prioritizing development work on Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, so I can’t give a specific time frame, but we will be looking into adjusting the wait times related to artifact quests

Quote: The development team is busy working on the Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, so there is a chance that the current schedule may change; however, we are planning to add new pets in the June version update.

Quote: The development team realizes that there is a lack of monsters currently for players that are level 99 and above, and as such we will be adding higher level monsters in the June version update.
We are also planning to make adjustments to the acquisition rate of Silt while in a party, so please look forward to this.

Quote: Due to the fact that Arrapago zones are extremely popular and cause server load, countermeasures were implemented to reduce congestion. We think it'll be difficult to remove this restriction at this time; however, we'll observe the instance server situation while looking into this. In the mean time we would like players to try out the other Salvage zones while Arrapago's restrictions are still in place.

Sorry for the necro-bump.
The timing of Campaign evaluations is a different type of system when compared to other content entry restrictions, and it is closely linked with Campaign overall. Due to this, the development team is still at the stage where we are not sure it will be possible to make adjustments from a technical standpoint, but we’ll be checking up on this.

Freshly Picked Vana'diel (english):
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/47174-Freshly-Picked-Vana-diel-18-Digest
YouTube Video Placeholder
Nothing new, just a review of past may update changes:
Table of Contents
Rhapsodies of Vana’diel
We implemented the first chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel.
You’ll be able to get started with the quests straight from the beginning of the game; however, to progress towards the end of the scenario you will ultimately need the Rise of the Zilart expansion.
Rhapsodies of Vana’diel’s Heroin: Iroha
This is the new heroine you will encounter in this scenario. When we were deciding on her name, we had to make sure that there were no other characters who shared the same name, but after a few twists and turns we finally named her Iroha.
Rhapsody Key Items
By progressing through Rhapsodies of Vana’diel you’ll be able to obtain various key items.
In chapter one, you will be able to obtain the Rhapsody in White, Rhapsody in Umber, and Rhapsody in Azure key items, which will make it easier to challenge various content, give experience point bonuses, reduce the cost of different types of warps, and other perks that make adventuring throughout Vana’diel more convenient.
More details on bonuses can be found here (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/46977).
New Area: Escha - Zi’tah
As the name implies, this is a new area based on the existing Zi’Tah area.
There are a number of monsters that span a wide level range from around level 50 to above level 99, so it’s a great place for those who are returning to the game or leveling up characters for the first time.
Escha – Zi’Tah Currencies
You’ll be able to obtain two different types of currency in this area.
Escha Silt
Escha silt can be earned by defeating monsters and notorious monsters that dwell in Escha – Zi’Tah. You’ll need this currency to purchase temporary items, enhance equipment, use warps, and to receive the special support effects known as “vorseals.”
Escha Beads
Escha beads can be earned by defeating notorious monsters in Escha – Zi’Tah. You can exchange this currency for Eschalixirs, which are used to upgrade certain equipment.
Vorseal
By taking advantage of vorseals, players can receive various beneficial effects while in Escha – Zi’Tah.
There are different types of vorseal effects, and it’s possible to have all of the effects active at the same time.
Vorseal effects will last one hour once you enter Escha – Zi’Tah, and once you receive a vorseal it can be used each time you enter this area without having to repurchase it with Escha silt.
New battle content: Geas Fete
This is battle content that involves fighting with the notorious monsters lurking in Escha – Zi’Tah.
In order to undertake a Geas Fete, first you’ll need to form a party of 3-18 players. All members will need to possess a key item known as “Tribulens” and the party leader will have to possess the appropriate “Grisly trinket” key item for the notorious monster you are going to fight.
It’s possible to summon alter egos during Geas Fete, but they do not count towards as party members, so please take note of this.
If you successfully defeat a notorious monster, you’ll can earn Escha silt, Escha beads, strong equipment, and upgrade materials.
Enhancing equipment from Geas Fete
The equipment that drops from Geas Fete notorious monsters can be enhanced with Eschalixirs.
Essentially it is the same as the method for enhancing equipment from Delve; however, this time around we made it so when you change your upgrade path on equipment that has already been enhanced, it will still possess its enhancement rank. When changing your upgrade path on equipment that has been enhanced, however, you’ll need to spend a great deal of Escha silt, so be sure to carefully think over your upgrade path.
Assault Adjustments
We’ve made adjustments to Assaults that were difficult to complete with a small number of players.
Imperial Agent Rescue
We increased the frequency in which Mamool Ja Warder uses his special abilities and also made it easier to destroy objects.
Lebros Supplies
We added a new temporary item called Seafood Stewpot that will make the NPC you give it to and the surround NPCs full.
Evade and Escape
We increased the time in which switches stay active so that this can be completed before time runs out when playing solo.
Azure Ailments
We reduced the number of status ailments that need to be accumulated since players have become stronger and now more easily resist status ailments.
Nyzul Isle Investigation / Nyzul Isle Uncharted Area Survery
We increased the time in which lamps stay active so that this can be completed before time runs out when playing solo.
Job Points
Two new enhancement categories have been added to each job, and we also added new gifts. This is the final set of enhancement categories that we had planned.
Since the number of gifts have increased, we revamped the details page (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/45366-Gifts).
Job Adjustments
We made a number of job adjustments in the May version update.
Warrior
The enhancement levels of the jobs traits “physical attack bonus,” “physical defense bonus,” and “double attack” have been adjusted and they can now go higher.
Additionally, we doubled the level-based effect bonus for Berserk and Defender.
Black mage
We added the new ability, “Cascade,” which allows you to consume TP in exchange for magic damage bonus.
Red mage
We added the new magic spell, “Inundation,” which was previously introduced as “Ardor” before the March version update.
When casting Inundation on a monster, you will gain a skillchain damage bonus when multiple players perform skillchains using different weapon types.
With the adjustments we made to this spell it has been changed from an enhancement magic spell to an enfeebling magic spell, so we changed the name of it to better fit the effect.
Dark knight
We added the new ability, “Consume Mana,” which uses MP to boost the damage of your next attack.
Additionally, we made adjustments to the enhancement levels of “physical attack bonus” and the effect of Last Resort so that more damage can be dealt.
We also made it so more HP could be absorbed through Drain II.
Ninja
Ever since the enmity adjustments that took place in the March version update, ninja has been lacking the means to generate enmity, so we added an enmity bonus to Utsusemi while under the effect of Yonin.
Additionally, we reduced the casting time of Migawari so that it can be used in time for severe attacks.
Summoner
It’s now possible to increase the effect of the job point category “Astral Flow Effect”.
Corsair
We added “Naturalist’s Roll” and “Runeist’s Roll” as Phantom Rolls for geomancer and rune fencer. The former increases the duration of enhancing magic received, while the latter increases magic evasion.
Additionally, we added the new ability, “Crooked Cards.” This ability boosts the effects of the next Phantom Roll by 20% and is similar to bard’s Marcato.
We also increased the effect of Ninja’s Roll.
Puppetmaster
We added multiple new attachments.
Amongst these new attachments, the Amplifier is a powerful attachment that focuses on magic bursts. Please be sure to try it out.
Additionally, we made adjustments to the effect of certain existing attachments. We eliminated the drawback to Drum Magazine, and we also made it possible to gain TP when using Barrage Turbine.
Furthermore, we increased the effect duration of Overdrive and increased the value of the “Overdrive Effect” job point category.
Due to the nature of puppetmaster in terms of job characteristics and utility, we need to make job adjustments very carefully so they are not able to accomplish all the roles of other jobs by themselves.
We understand that there have been many requests to make it so puppetmaster can function better in parties, and we are continuing to look into adjustments for this.
Trust Initiative
Semih Lafihna, Halver, Zeid II, and Lion II have been added as alter egos. By progressing through Rhapsodies of Vana’diel you will be able to call them forth. The behavior for Zeid II and Lion II have been adjusted and they will move more simply compared to their original alter egos.
Additionally, alter egos can now be called forth in high-tier mission battlefields, Voidwatch, and Wanted Battles.
Furthermore, some of the attributes on all alter egos and fellows will now increase when the player is wearing item level equipment. They can now help much more when fighting against strong foe.
Following these changes, as a part of balancing adjustment, we decreased Kukki-Chebukki’s enfeebling magic a little bit; however, we adjusted this so that you shouldn’t notice much difference when wearing item level equipment.
Unity Concord
Unity Leader Alter Ego
We introduced a new Unity leader alter ego system. If your personal evaluation is greater than a fixed number during the Unity ranking tabulation period, you will be able to call forth your Unity leader.
Unity leaders will have improved attributes based on the Unity ranking held at the time of summoning.
Unity Wanted
We reduced the Unity points required to take on Unity Wanted objectives. You can now call forth alter egos for Unity Wanted, so please try it out.
Records of Eminence
We were able to expand the amount of information that can be stored on a character, so we have doubled the amount of objectives you can undertake simultaneously.
Additionally, we have introduced new objectives, and also made adjustments to limited-time challenges.
Previously, we limited the time in order to have more players play simultaneously; however, since there are players that play during various times, we wanted to make sure everyone can enjoy this content, and as such we made adjustments so that some types of limited-time objectives can be constantly held.
Mog House Adjustments
Mog houses can now be expanded to two stories.
On the second floor, you can place furnishings in areas you couldn’t on the first floor. There are more locations in which you can place wall furnishings. With these changes you can enjoy decorating your interiors more freely.
Additionally, you will be able access Mog Safe 2 by constructing the second story. You may use this similar to the regular Mog Safe, as well as use furnishings set inside the Mog Safe 2, allowing a maximum of up to 160 furnishings total to be used.
We have made other various improvements, such as a camera feature which can now pass through furnishings freely, and two types of controls to select from while in layout mode, so please have fun decorating your room.
Item-related
New synthesis recipes have been added which include new item level 119 gear. Please check these out as part of your new gear options.
Additionally, synthesis will now offer a chance to skill up even when your current synthesis skill level exceeds the recipe’s skill level.
The difficulty for synthesis has been eased, so we would like players who never tried synthesis to use this opportunity to try it out.
Quality-of-life Improvements
We have introduced a new feature to visually display AoEs. Enabling this feature will provide a visual indicator of the AoE for various actions.
Currently, this feature only displays actions with circular areas of effect.
There are currently no plans for fan-shaped AoE indicators.

We’ll be creating an ending song for the final chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel that is set to be implemented in November.
To make this really special, we are in the midst of planning an event where users can participate in the Vana’diel March, which will be used as the chorus portion of the ending song.
We’re planning to use every voice that we receive and we will be announcing more details on June 1st via the Goddess’s Gala website (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/vanaproj/index.html#_ga=1.40855850.960631.1426331958)! Stay tuned and get ready to participate!

A couple of "NOs" from dev team:
Quote: Corsair's attributes and role in combat have already been adjusted in a comprehensive way, which includes the support effects they give to party members using Phantom Rolls; therefore, we have no plans to increase their combat skill ratings.
Quote: We have no plans to add an afterglow effect to the Gjallarhorn as this instrument is already quite powerful.
Quote: We were able to collect some answers for two of your suggestions.
- Jump and Call Wyvern
We currently have no plans to make adjustments in this direction as it'll move away from the concept of dragoons being strong while they maintain their wyvern.
- Drakesbane
The Drakesbane weapon skill isn't meant to be used in a skillchain with Stardiver, therefore we will not be making any adjustments with the premise of skillchains in mind.
Quote: It's possible to add elemental arrows and bolts with item level; however, we would need to carefully consider battle balance and maintain the relationship with other elemental magic attacks. For instance, if the stats are too powerful and it results in the replacement of elemental magic, then it may take away from other jobs that use elemental damage. Similarly, if these elemental arrows and bolts are not very powerful, they may not be used at all.
We understand there are requests for new types of arrows and bolts, but we cannot promise they will be added; however, we'll look into this and see if it's possible to add arrows and bolts with stats that don’t affect the balance of combat.
Also, we’re currently looking into increasing the archery and marksmanship skills for ranger; however, we do not have any plans for making adjustments to the distance modifier for ranged attacks.
As Eagle Eye Shot has already been given the maximum amount of ranged accuracy possible, we aren't planning to make adjustments to the rate of accuracy; however, we are looking into changing how this attack can be avoided by Blink and Utsusemi.
We’re also planning to make adjustments to Flashy Shot in the June version update.

Though I can’t give a specific time frame, in a future version update we are planning to increase the cap on job point enhancement categories, and we’ll simultaneously add new gifts.

Quote: Announcing the June Version Update (06/01/2015)
The next version update is scheduled to land in late June.
This update will not only see the climactic conclusions to some of Adoulin's questlines, but also the addition of new high-tier avatar battlefields.
In addition, plenty of job and ability adjustment in store, along with rank 5 monster rearing, style lock enabled for ranged weapons, and a plethora of other additions and adjustments.
Keep a look out for more details as the June version update approaches!

"We have no plans to add an afterglow effect to the Gjallarhorn as this instrument is already quite powerful."
I did not even ask for an afterglow effect. I just asked for the description to be written on it..................
Hi.
Dev tracker is a kind of feed in Official Forum that highlight (in the left side bar) posts from development team to players demands, questions and sugestion. Given that those answers are given by someone who effectively works with the deveopment of this game, they can be considered as official and true.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
The japanese side of OF has its own dev tracker, that normally is way more active and detailed than english side. If someone feel like translating it to bring the info, feel welcomed too.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/search.php?searchid=15480698
BG site has one specific topic just to publish and discuss those official answers, and i think ffxiah lacks something similar as not everyone here check BG or OF, so lots of details/dev opinion are missed. So, thats the point of this topic, anyone who see new info in dev tracker feeds, quote it here, and start a discussion if you feel like.
Starting now, a couple of new dev posts were released after march update annoucement. Here they are:
Trust changes
Quote: [dev1261] Alter Ego Adjustments
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following content.
Walk of Echoes
Wanted battles
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following mission battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess missions
When Wills Collide / Maiden of the Dusk
It will be possible to summon alter egos for the following quest battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess quests
Champion of the Dawn / The Dawn Also Rises / A Forbidden Reunion
-----
Dev answer to a sugestion to add new ways to obtain dusk type of alluvion skirmish stone.
Quote: Since dusk-type stones were just implemented, we'd like players to do alluvion skirmishes to obtain them, so there are no plans to add the ability to trade other items for these stones at the moment.
However, we'll look into increasing the amount in circulation and the means of obtaining them in some way in a future version update.
Monster rearing news:
Quote: [dev1262] Mog Garden Adjustments
Monster Rearing will undergo the following adjustments.
A monster's mood will no longer degrade from "beaming with pure contentment" after collecting items or interacting with the monster.
The collective moods of all creatures will generate auras of light or darkness that affects them all.
Light
When the number of creatures beaming with pure contentment is greater than that succumbing to darkness, all creatures’ contentment and mood are increased.
Darkness
When the number of creatures succumbing to darkness is greater than that beaming with pure contentment, all monsters' contentment and mood are decreased.
The following information will be displayed when entering your Mog Garden.
The number of days left on assistants’ contracts.

Sugestion about blu traits having aditional tier info.
Quote: This is something that is difficult for us to address at the moment as we would have to send data each time you open the menu to see which tier you currently have. We're concerned about this largely affecting UI response time.
Similarly the same holds true for saving the data client-side as well. Since all of the trait data for this would have to be saved, it would consume large amounts of memory, which also makes this feature difficult to implement.
