Anybody recognizes the JA used in that screenshot? Or is it a new one? :O
Don't think DNC needs new JAs, but it's not like I'm gonna complain if we do get another lol
Granted we already have so many CDs to press/stuff to do I'd probably be happier if they were to tweak the ones we have first... but hey, good news are good!
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think it's waltz otherwise the character would be leaping...
A second thought here. I don't know how mithras (like the one in the picture) move during waltzes. Elvaans like myself are the ones who leap like gazelles, so yeah... Back to ground zero again...

I'm assuming that's supposed to stop the auto attack before your SA goes off right?
I wasnt aware of that too, but it's simply command to disengage.
So, what Kat means is to use command to engage, then WS, then use command to disengage in a macro. This should work to chain WSing without actually engaging for more than enough to WS.

Are there examples in game where they removed the JA delay for actions that are used on an enemy target?
I can only think of JAs that you use on yourself.
Not sure if it's a "game design" choice or if it's a physical limitation of how their game code works honestly.

That image in January Update, looks like a brand new Job Ability, haven't seen that animation before, theoretically; it could belong to waltz, according to the pose.

I hate to impose but if everyone could post what they are using for PK post update I would be grateful. I gear all my jobs for dynamis wave3 (if you don't that's obviously fine) and I'm having trouble negotiating some recommended gear choices.
I find myself seriously lacking MA when saber is either at its low or off entirely (for whatever reason) on a weaponskill that seems to profit from maxing out its number of hits. Thanks.

I personally avoid any DW when capped in magic haste, since you only need 1DW...
Relic Body +3, is better overall, for various reasons (-PDT, EVA, MEVA, MDB, Amnesia resist, not to mention cheaper).
Granted, Attk can be capped, its not always sustainable to solely depend on buffs, various issues could arise, the trade off with Jecket in my opinion isnt worth it.

I'm guessing they're going to remove some of the JA restrictions.. like allowing us to do building flourish to reverse flourish without the timer penalty.
Based on the bst adjustment though, your expectation is probably right.

The Japanese update text talks about adjusting recast time for certain abilities for both DRG and DNC. These jobs both have classes of abilities with shared recast timers, so I think the new update might have each ability on its own recast timer.
Meaning we can actually use Climactic, Ternary Flourishes on different recasts!

Well I think bigger thing would be using buidling and reverse flourish on their own timers. Building flourish is kinda amazing, but Reverse flourish is too.

Yeah, the point being that we aren't constrained by the global Flourishes cooldown anymore
opens a lot of new options for us

This means that the total number of ability recasts a character can have active at any given time is 31 because they only send one update packet atm.
IIRC the current state is something like:
Main (14): SP, SP2, Contradance, Steps, Sambas, Waltzes, Jigs, Flourishes I, II, III, Presto, Saber Dance, Fan Dance, No Foot Rise
Sub (13) : BST might be 13 because pet commands are JAs
So that puts us at 27. IIRC there is something else that pushes us up even further towards 31. Nothing is impossible in a video game, but they would have to touch the packet system to allow DNC and DRG to have independent timers for all their different JAs and they have been loath to do so. I bet they just eliminate the JA delay associated with using Steps/Jumps and call it a day.
Alternatively, and more in line with the JP post, they could just reduce the recast times for Flourishes and ultimately do nothing to really help DNC...
