Never once said "I feel this way and because I like it that way"
youre assuming things again that never happened and you just joined the debate without knowing the history behind it (as far as april)

Again never once I mentioned that Rho is far superior to Trish and you can double check everything during the stupid debate to make sure that i have no specific narrative to push.

Do you even know me to assume that i can't see these variables that you provided? that alone is enough for me to stop debating with such an arrogant individual.

Never once I questioned your intelligence or resorted to demeaning you (or anyone) when I find what you say incompatible with my findings.

Show some respect while debating and stop holding the badge of honor around trivial matters.

I don't need to know the history of the argument or address the emotional component of your post.

I can see that Trishula wins when factoring what the simulation entails. I can see that everything the simulation doesn't entail will either reduce rhongomiant's damage or increase trishula's damage by more than it increases rhongomiant's damage.

If we are missing a factor that could potentially bridge the gap, let us know what it is. You have not done so, and your 'personal experience' can be likened to people who post about vaccines causing autism on facebook. You need to support your arguments to be taken seriously.

I added the new Flamm +2 set to Spreadsheet along with the Ring and found out the following changes:

Trishula:

TP set with Flamm Head/Feet and Ring (I added set bonus to ring stats 16 DEX STR VIT since 3) gave : 5519

Same TP set with Petrov Ring: 5529

This gives the impression that Petrov is still better than Flamm for TP.

----------------------------------------------------

And

When I did the same on Stardiver Set Assuming "Petrov TP set" it gave:

With Flamma Ring:
  • Stardiver:22114

    Rounds/WS:1.81

With Regal Ring:

  • Stardiver:21957

    Rounds/WS:1.81

Here Flamma Ring is better than Regal Ring in WS Set.

----------------------------------------------------

Rhongomiant:

TP Set with Petrov Ring: 5753

  • Stardiver Set with Flamm Ring:19357

    Rounds/WS:2.03

  • Stardiver Set with Regal Ring:19098

    Rounds/WS:2.03

----------------------------------------------------

Conclusion: RIP Regal Ring?

regal still worth having for accuracy if using vishap as well as when using gav helm on appropriate days.

I would ignore the dps value spreadsheets spit out, they model the melee/ws dmg split very incorrectly so we don't know if anything it tells us is actually accurate or not. a 0.2% change in DPS is not gonna be discernible by any metric either since their standard deviations overlap. The spreadsheet IS good for modelling WS damage, though.

Yeah I only tested the TP set to know if I can swap Petrov with Flamma.

But as you can see it did affect the WS Set by quite a margin too.

Will still keep Regal for Acc Set then.

I have read this a number of times: people saying it is wrong and overestimates mele damage. But I have yet to see anyone point to the math used which causes the error, or fix it. Aside from forum heresay, has this been proven and reason for the inaccuracy given anywhere?

I don't have a way to view spreadsheet files, so I can't speak for any issues with an individual one, but several SAMs have mentioned the SAM one shows about a 40/60 split with TP/WS damage when in-game, the results are around 10-15 / 90-85 for doji.

Personally having used the SAM spreadsheet, I had claims of 40/60 Melee/WS split on Doji, and 55/45 Melee/WS split on Fudo AM3 (both 3 hit setups.) In practice it was 10-15/90-85 as Austar said. Hell, even MNK said it was about 45-50/55-50 split and I was seeing 25-30/75-30 in practice (buff dependent.)

Re-reading Kat's post regarding regal ring, i see why she came to that conclusion. She added 16 str to the ring so when comparing to regal, it's 16 vs 10 str, when it should be 8 vs 10. if head and feet are already being used, ring still only adds an additional 8 str. regal should still be best alongside niqmaddu for stardiver.

I also updated flamma to +2 in my sim and added ring along with set bonus for the new items.

Ok Great then, but After Fixing the ring:

With Flamma Ring:

Trishula: 21920
Rhongomiant: 19118

With Regal Ring:

Trishula: 22729
Rhongomiant: 19098

Something is off there with Rhon favoring Flamma but 20 difference should be neglected anyway.

only reason i could think of is how it handles tp returns on ws resulting in overflow tp, since regal is better in every other stat.

TP overflow more useful on Rhon, since it's a higher% of the resulting weaponskill.

updated sim to allow users to add their own augmented gear

just make a new folder and put the drg.exe from the dist folder and the drg_equip.txt file in it. can easily edit the txt file in something like notepad++, just follow the example gear template and this should be a list of all the stats you'd need:
Code
        job.str = strength
        job.dex = dexterity
        job.vit = vitality

        job.skill = polearm skill
        job.acc = accuracy
        job.atk = attack

        job.da = double attack
        job.ta = triple attack
        job.qa = quad. attack

        job.crit_rate = critical hit rate
        job.crit_dmg = crit. damage

        job.stp = store tp

        job.eq_haste = haste

        job.tp_bonus = tp bonus
        job.wsd = weapon skill damage
        job.conserve_tp = conserve tp

another update:
split acc and ws acc stats. hit rate on stats tab won't reflect it, but the acc value will. so if using both fotia pieces, you only need to hit 85% hit rate on the stats tab for the ws.

jump_da is now it's own stat for JSE cape will be used later when I split jump set from tp set

also split damage formula for utu grip and other grips, so I added a few grips that could be more obtainable, can easily add more if any are requested.

new update to my drg sim:
added raetic nq and mp as a stat. updated all the gear to include their mp values as well as escha buff and merit points. didn't mess around with gear choices too much, but the halberd isn't as good for drg as the gs is for war with options like trish and rho being available. even habile is roughly equal if not better in most situations.

Its clear to me that Rho wins in capped situations [in my not so perfect TP set] vs Perfect TP set for Trish by sim with a margin of [1.5-2.5] %

And during previous discussions between TP sets in spreadsheets that margin was between [1.5-4.5]% in favor of Rho if I used my Trish Set.

These two weapons are very close to each other and definitely should make one/ [or Both] if you're serious about DRG.

Can also safely assume that spreadsheet favoring Empy Weapons is not that serious [1-2]% margin.

I can make it easy on you, from this day forward, consider all my posts here as random letters/numbers and they are never addressed to you and I will do the same.

Also, while you're at it show others the evidence that you always claimed about spreadsheets. because whenever someone brings it up, your lame excuse is not being able to open spreadsheets. or some Random SAM tested it and found the discrepancy. (I wonder how these test are approved)

Don't use my sim then since you're incapable of using it properly (or the sheets for that matter)

whether it's addressed to me or not, I'll still correct you when you're wrong.

google sheets runs like ***on less than 3 megs and I'm not going to suffer through that to prove a point that you refuse to accept regardless.

the person you talk about here in particular uses the SAM and MNK ones and has completely different results in game, which you refuse to accept once again. a TP/WS split for SAM with Doji is roughly 10/90 but she sheets are reporting closer to 40/60, it isn't even close. Even the MNK one is reporting similar numbers when it's closer to 25/75.
