Moogles Vs. Goblins Event

You can get moogle suit/mask and goblin suit/mask from event goblins and moogles in starter towns. Bastok is in Markets next to fountain. Talking to goblin or moogle while wearing the respective suit/mask gives you an option to warp outside to participate in event.

The event has level cap of 5. You get points for dealing dmg, healing, etc. Moogles and goblins just hit each other, you might get hit with dmg AoE every now and then, but it seems most AoEs they do are sleep or disease. You get 5 mp/tick refresh, so easy enough to stay healed with /whm.

I started on goblin side, the first goal was to get 10k points. Reward was cipher of Fablinix's alter ego. Next goal is to get 3k points in one round. I haven't yet figured out the strategy to get that many, the best I got was 1.9k. Anyone have any idea?

And if anyone knows what are the rewards on moogle side, it would be nice to know. ^_^

So you can go back and forth between moogles and goblins and get all the rewards? I was afraid you'd have to pick a side and stick with it.

I haven't tried it out yet though so I can't add any info.

Well you get the Moogle Alter ego from the moogle side. You also get the sides respective ammo. It gives money for the goblins so probably for the same.

Also to get high points you HAVE to be RDM. You need to keep your melee damage, magic damage, and healing even.


For Expert:
Get a Bronze Dagger from the low lvl vendors.
Phase 1-4
Melee > Stone > Melee > Cure
Get +100% Boost per Phase when keeping the numbers close to even.

Phase 5
Chainspell Cure on the guy you can heal.

Victory.

Whats the reward for the 3k expert, cause I keep getting reallllly close, like 2800 and don't want to be bothered more or less...

3000 is the Ammo for the respective side.

Finishing both sides lands you Aldo's Alter Ego and a disappointing reveal about this contest.

God damn it that's depressing that's how you get Aldo...

Ugh seriously, I can't manage to get 3k points... too many 3s 4s and 5s in my chat log to count em up properly, can't get the mog/gob damage to filter so it's screwin me up.

If you need the 3k for Aldo then screw that -.-

Gotta say this goblin armor makes me want to race change to Taru since it fits them so well lol.

That was really more aggravating than fun.. if not for the sleep bombs... would be kinda fun.

yeah the sleep bombs kill gains.

Maybe could use poison potions? Would need to remember to cure self enough tho. :P

I havnt been on much in the last year or so. What is this event about? And whats are the rewards available? (Hearing about a moogle cipher caught my attention!)

Goblin and moogle suits when you start the event.
Completing the moogle side grants moogle trust.
Completing goblin side Flabinix trust.
Completing the extra challenge for both Aldo trust.

The event anyway is horrible.

Moogle is AoE refresh, magic skill up rate+.

Idk about the goblin but he has a lot of mana.

The event is p*ss easy.

I went in, cast water, and 2 cures, hit the mob a few times, then spammed water after getting the twin bonus. Got something like 5000 points.

How many per tick? 1?

Moogle
Refresh it gives is 3 per tic.
Just follows you and does random animations moogles have during combat.

Fab is RDM/THF.
Uses Ranged attacks in addition to meleeing of course.
Only seems to heal you and cast Enwater.
Uses Goblin Rush. (Fusion WS can make Light) Will use if it will close Light.
Uses Bomb Toss. No idea if self explosion possible. Seems to favor this.
Uses Ranged attacks.

Aldo is THF/??? Not too sure on the sub thinking Ranger or Corsair.
Melees and uses Bully(I think) and Sneak Attack.
Uses some gun WS which closes light.

Any idea what the ammo dose? Iv got both and neither seem to do anything?

Gives you gil on use.

I used the ammo to see what it does also. I had already harvested for the day so it did nothing. I have a feeling it will effect harvesting results though if used just before you do. Can anybody test this?

try using rdm/blm with a level 1 dagger 1 cure 1 stone land your melee at 17 or 18 the dia your magic to 17 or 18 took 3 tries to do it for me and made 3733
